Yep, a COVID-19 vent thread

Everyone focusing on toilet paper, my poor sister and many others got no sanitary items right now ;; I feel terrible for her and everyone else in need 

The people buying in a panic are one thing, but the scum bags mass buying just to resell at an inflated price need to be eaten 

The thing that really got me about all this is having to tell my kids that their dad wont be coming home for another 2-3 months(heck maybe even more?? Who knows), when he was suppose to come home in 3 days... We've all been counting down the days and were so excited to finally see him after being apart for 9 months... This seriously sucks, I really dont want to tell them but I just know they are going to ask "How many more days left??" We miss him so much...

The amount of misinformation spreading rn is ridiculous 

I’m in NY, and after a while they finally decided to close down the schools. Online classes start next week to give teachers time to plan stuff out, and it’s been surprisingly peaceful so far? 

Maybe the fact that I rarely go out has come in handy now.
I just hope everything turns out ok

grandma nonchalantly dropped info about her being behind on utilities. she mentioned smth about some checks coming in, but im worried bc her other job closes down for a couple weeks starting today ;;
i already gave her the $50 i made from adopts last night, she said itd help her cover the house payment
when i have energy i might try to advertise quick commissions... this just sucks

oh and my mom texted me last night saying there were cases in her county and shes self quarantine along with her mother. i just worry bc shes immunocompromised, her mom is elderly, and my dad works with the public. i guess hes being extra careful though.

im just tired. i want this to be over

this going way out of proportion and people are overreacting wayyy too much about this. They closed down my school for the rest of March and possibly longer depending on how bad it is...it really isnt that fucking bad.. just jesus christ

i wont be able to do any more of my printmaking classes because of this
i wont be able to get my job interview done because its at a nursing home which are on lockdown

11 cases overnight at my city and?? i live right next to the hospital;;;

i'm seriously pissed off about having another week off of school, i get that people enjoy it too, if i wasn't in my current position i would i been crying tears of fucking joy when i heard that schools where i live rn were shutting down. but like, my phone got taken away, so i have no way to contact my friends, most of them who don't have discord/aren't active on it. i just learned more people died from diarrhea than from corona,,,,so um...

but, i like some aspects of it, the roads are smoother, and i don't have to wait 45+ minutes just to go to walmart, which is practically empty. apparently everybody wants to stock up on orange juice bc there was none of that.

So my mom decided that despite all the warnings, she’d still throw a party and invite people over.

Now guess who got sent home from work for running a fever and having a cough. 

Good one.

While I doubt/hope it’s not what I think it is, imagine being that dumb? 

thank you covid for cancelling my work right before acnh comes out (a $60 game). very cool /s

my state shut everything down so i'll be at home for the next few weeks....my birthday is on friday and i'll spend it in a coronavirus-emergency-state-induced lockdown lol....

eta: i realize i am not the worst off in this case, i have many immunocompromised family members so the fact that im celebrating my birthday like this is honestly kind of funny in general 

Maybe I should just stay home and do my work after today. It's no point going to school during the coronavirus outbreak in my province...

if anyone needs supplies and has specialty grocery stores, especially asian markets, in the area, try hitting those up; they tend to have been less affected by the panic buying (because people are racist fucks) and are more likely to have basics in stock and no horrific crowds
