Have a certain video, tv show, movie, short or game thats on the tip of your tongue, or that youve been trying to find but can’t seem to find any info on it? I’ve been there! If so, this is the thread for you!

Share your mysteries to others, or help others with finding stuff about that specific media! I’ve always had a huge passion with this type of stuff so I’d love to help if I find anything of use!

can be super recent, can be super old. Can be a YouTube video, or it can be a tv show, movie, or a video game! ANYTHING.

god I’ve been meaning to make a thread like this for a while but I always forget to :( . This thread is heavily inspired by r/tipofmytongue and blameitonjorge (he makes a ton of lost media discovery videos! Go watch em if you’re interested in that stuff, it’s REALLY interesting and well made! Prob one of my favorites so far atm).

CIFUR

Oh man I’ve been thinking about this for YEARS!

When I was super little, my dad took me to his friends house. He was off doing something, I put on a movie. I’m fairly certain it was a VHS tape. It was an animated movie, mostly lineless art with silhouettes and blocky bright colors. It’s been so long I’m starting to forget most of it, but I remember one segment of moving stripey lines. The closest thing to it I can think of is the artwork for Fairly Local. There were a lot of scenes of random shapes and flashing colors like this. I also remember seeing a shot of a man, he was in shadow and had a sharp nose and a hat I think. The background was dark blue and black, I think his eyes were lit up in the shot.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen it, I figure I must’ve been less than 7 years old when this happened. So this movie mightve come out in the 90’s or 2000’s if I had to guess, but it could be older.

It’s such a vivid memory I’m certain it has to be real, I’ve always been curious what it was so I could watch it again. This memory has stuck with me for a long time.
Theres an animated segment in The Beatles movie Yellow Submarine for Its Only a Northern Song that definitely reminds me of the movie, when I watched it for the first time I thought that this might’ve been it. It isn’t though :( but it’s similar, so maybe it’ll help describe what I’m looking for.

alright. bear with me here.

music video, i think it was pop, maybe pop-rock or pop- alt or something of that nature? definitely pop though. male singer. i found it in 2020, maybe 2019.

the video was about two dudes, husbands i think, in like a mr and mrs smith situation where they were fighting each other and stuff, over a dinner/dinner party or something. one might have cheated on the other? not sure. a lot of colour play, i remember there being a lot of reds.

if anyone knows this fhfhfHFUCKIN MV, please let me know, i've been trying to find it since i saw it HFDJKHDFJKHDF

Reposting this as I'm still trying to find it,,
okay so there's this song I've been trying to find for literal years.
I believe it's by Eden Maze, as the video I found it from (sadly it's been deleted, it was a speedpaint of Koro-sensei form Assassination Classroom) used 2 songs that sounded like they were from the same artist. The first song I was able to find, A Little Good Company by Eden Maze. The second song in the video, however, I've never been able to find period. I've looked everywhere. I'd really appreciate some help!
Here are the lyrics to the song that I wrote by ear to try and find it- they are probably not accurate,,

Holding on to the love that you got,
Giving up on the lover that's not,
Every single time that this is gonna end,
Every story breaks, at least you can pretend.

Even though you know she's given it up,
You know it in your head, but your heart can't stop holding on,
Holding on...

Your friends all say you're going to fall,
It's all running through your head as you get in the car,
Holding on,
Holding on...

Oh...
Holding on...
Ooh..
Holding on...
Ooh...
Holding on...
Ooh..

(Bumping this because I still haven’t found it)

So I was trying to find a certain version of Lovin' You by Minnie Riperton. The version I'm looking for is kind of hard to describe, but it sounds kind of like a pop song and the voice is a little higher pitched (not nightcore levels of high pitched, but it's definitely a bit different from the original voice). The song is more than likely some kind of remix, but the remixes I've listened to so far didn't match the version that I remember. I swear I used to hear the version I'm looking for in shipping tributes and/or someone's YouTube intro. I think the version I remember is probably from the 2000s to 2010s era, because that's the vibe it gives me, and it had to have been during the 2010s era when I heard it. If anyone knows what version I might be talking about, please lmk! Even if you don't know who made the remix, if you at least know of a video that uses the version I might be talking about, please send it to me!

Edit: Also I'm pretty sure the version I'm thinking of might be considered EDM? I'm not sure tbh.

Adding on that the way I remember it sounding kind of reminds me of Dance Dance Revolution songs. It isn’t extremely fast like a lot of the ones I’ve listened to, but the sound of music combined with the voice just gives me those vibes for some reason.

Updates:

- It is not Loving You (Epidemik remix). The song is a bit slower than that.

- It’s also not Lovin’ you (Rob Searle club mix).

- This remix kind of reminds me of the version I’m looking for, but it isn’t the one I’m looking for. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Kba99iZS23I

WOW FINALLY THE THREAD FOR ME.

The year was like 2015-2016, there was this small, but really well animated video posted to YouTube of the uploader's OC roller-skating to music (either Snail's House, Moe Shop, or something like that) at the end of the video she pops up with a military hat on that falls off. The art style was definitely anime inspired and the oc kind of looked like Marija from Muse dash or Esdeath from Akame Ga Kill (uniform wise)   The uploader had no other videos and the only thing in the description was a link to their twitter.  I believe the video did pretty well too and had around 100k-1m views.

I swear it exists and I spent over four hours of my life searching needlessly for it over the past few years. Please let me know if you have a lead!

Ok, I tried to find this movie anywhere but couldn't, so I'll just copy its description from the reddit I wrote earlier

I can describe this movie in great detail, but I can't find it anywhere at all. I watched it on youtube around 2018 but even in youtube browsing history I couldn't find it. Maybe it was removed from there.

The action takes place in Asia, tentatively it is Turkey or something like that. In a poor family with her mother and brother lives a girl whom her mother does not love. Mother loves only her brother. One day she punishes the girl and sends her out to sleep in a booth with a dog.

The next day, a rich couple comes to their house and the mother gives the girl to them. She sold her daughter to them. The girl is needed by a rich couple to take her heart and transplant their sick daughter. At first, the poor girl lives in a rich family. The sick daughter of a rich couple becomes friends with her, and the rich woman becomes attached to the poor girl. She begins to tell her husband that it is impossible to do this with a girl, but he reproaches her for not loving their own daughter.

I remember the end vaguely, but in the end, the poor girl and the sick girl who was supposed to have her heart died on the operating table. It seems because it was an illegal operation. At the end, the viewer is shown how these two girls in heaven hold hands and end up with a rich woman. And the mother of the poor girl and the father of the rich girl are tormented in hellfire.

Something like that. I hope this plot is not a product of my imagination, because I clearly remember how then my friend was upset that she distracted me with conversations from watching the movie. So it certainly was. Please, if you know the name or where to watch it, let me know

rivulet I'm not sure what I think about that one, but maybe it was one of the ITE (Interactive Television Entertainment) games? Maybe it was one of the varieties of games from the Hugo franchise? I don't know all the possible variations, but there are a lot of them and maybe there was a version with ancient Egypt. If you meant a game with this character, then I can try to find this particular version

I saw an advert once that had a T-rex with a red cave background, it didn't move but it looked so 3D you'd swear it did. Cannot find it ANYWHERE but I found something close-ish. I've been trying to find the technique that was used, it seems that the ad may have moved slightly but not visibly and that caused it to pop out of the page. It was so cool, I want to recreate that effect on my own art… I tried but it wasn't quite convincing.

Also… this should be easy for me to find on my own but there was a poster of the Sony Bravia Bunnies, multicoloured Play-Doh bunnies. I found the TV ad but I CANNOT find that one poster anywhere! It was a well done photo with good lighting and was fairly sharp, and I don't remember there being people in the background. I found the original TV ad but not the poster. That brings back so many memories for me ;0;
