Posted 3 years, 4 months ago (Edited 1 year, 6 months ago) by BIRD

Have a certain video, tv show, movie, short or game thats on the tip of your tongue, or that youve been trying to find but can’t seem to find any info on it? I’ve been there! If so, this is the thread for you!

Share your mysteries to others, or help others with finding stuff about that specific media! I’ve always had a huge passion with this type of stuff so I’d love to help if I find anything of use!

can be super recent, can be super old. Can be a YouTube video, or it can be a tv show, movie, or a video game! ANYTHING.

god I’ve been meaning to make a thread like this for a while but I always forget to :( . This thread is heavily inspired by r/tipofmytongue and blameitonjorge (he makes a ton of lost media discovery videos! Go watch em if you’re interested in that stuff, it’s REALLY interesting and well made! Prob one of my favorites so far atm).

Ok so I've got another freshly baked undiscovered media for y'all, and yes this one also originates from my Nan's DVD collection. I have no idea what multi-dimensional realm she was getting her DVDs from.

I'll do bullet points.

Firstly, things I know for certain:

- This was 3D/CGI animated

- It was definitely made in the 2000s specifically, so the animation was cheap

- The main character was an anthro lion.

- The movie had an intro that showed the lion guy in armour, it's hard to describe, I think he was holding a sword and glowing golden?

- The movie started out with the young lion running away from another character screaming. Like, this was the opening shot of it.

- It had a castle setting and was mediaeval themed I think

Secondly, some blurry details that may or may not be true:

- There was some kind of magic/wizard teacher character who was mentoring the main lion

- The teacher could shapeshift and I think the lion running away from the "monster" was revealed to actually just be the teacher shapeshifting into a different form to test him?

- The movie starts out with the lion being young, but has a time skip relatively quickly into it where he's now an adult.

My Nan also had DVDs of a separate lion-related franchise, the Paddle Pop Lion, and these really badly made movies to advertise it, but I doubt they're related. Unless there is a Paddle Pop Lion movie that's the same as what I described, then please do correct me.

gahh ive been looking for a thread like this for so long!!

ive been looking for this tv show for a very very long time, i remember adoring it as a kid but then i couldnt find it on anywhere anymore.

basic things i can remember

- completely white backdrop, usually a table.

- old guy (cant remember his name, some animal expert) as the "host"

- every episode was like. talking about a different animal. it was educational.

- i think i watched it like around 2012-2013?? cant remember but it was a long time ago.

- i think the footage wasnt that good.

- i specifically remember an episode about a blue macaw (?) and as he talked it sat on the table / in a cage and ate peanuts out of his hand. and ofc he talked about it.

- i dont think there was any music, but its hard to remember.

- it was either on PBS or some news channel.

every time i mention it to my parents they say they dont remember anything like that. i know it wasnt a dream though. i remember the macaw episode was one i watched before going to the store, and i bought a little plushie that i still have to this day. i didnt have internet access until like late 2016 so it wasnt like a webshow or anything like that.

ive googled the basic description and i get nothing

ty for any help :3

Putting this here while i find it. Ill prob find it but i cant for the life of me figure out the NAME omg

so theres this french/french canadian (most likely aired in either france or quebec) i remember watching reruns of at my school in the mid 2010s (though, it couldve been made before that) about this kid interacting with these other kids that were either ghosts, or magical? (Gonna say ghost since i think they were more ghost than “magical”) I think they were either invisible or kept secret from the parents, and lived in this big house. Hyjinks would ensue when villains would come do something to those ghost kids (might be totally wrong since i genuinly dont remember anything about the plot). I remember them being able to dissapear and reapear, so they mightve been either invisible to other characters, or dissapear when a threat arrived

what i do remember though is that it centralized about either keys, mirrors, or doors. It was a strong plotpoint, and it probably had something to do with the ghost kids.

only character i remember is this pasty white kid with freckles that was one of the main ghost kids. He had this 2008 long shaggy brow haircut that every kid/emo band had, and he wore this white red and blue(?) uniform that looked straight out of medeival times. I THINK his eyes were green. He looked to be around his early teens, or maybe on his tweens.

The show was in french, so it might be hard to track. Ill try and see if TFO or any other Quebec archive website might carry reruns of it.

How did I not find this soonerrr aghh..

I'm looking to find a specific Ghost animation meme. It had feral cats and a cult type feel to it (weird flags and pairs of eyes and such). I believe the channel had a pfp in black and white. There was a running scene. I didn't see it in the competition winners.

augh fuck, this is such a long shot but i want to find this manga again if anyone knows it

  • manga
  • horror genre
  • short story anthology(?)
  • the only story i can remember from it (or just story of it if it's not an anthology):
    • main character (MC) was friends with (or just knew) this guy an a small city/ town
    • this guy is somewhat weird/ unnerving, he would always stare up at a house and say something like "the person living in this house is going to die in three days"
    • MC was weirded out because everyone that he pointed out would indeed die and they would go to the funeral
    • MC asks him how he knows and the guy basically says "i see a giant, shadow-y, humanoid figure upside down on their head on top of their building"
      • art of what it looked like below (the manga would draw it out but MC couldn't see it):
        • shadow%20figure.png
    • one day (probably some time later) MC talks about how the guy quickly moved out of the town telling MC to get out as fast as possible too in a hurried, panicked state
    • as MC looks out wondering about the guy, worried and thinking if he should move out too, the camera pans out to overlook the city
    • the final panel just shows every single building with that shadow figure on top
EDIT 1b: i think it was a fairly popular horror anthology? Seeds of Anxiety (Fuan No Tane) and PTSD Radio both sound familiar to me but i don't know if it's in them (and tbh i'm a little creeped out to read them rn JKFDKJH) i think i found the manga in a "best horror manga to read" kind of youtube video lol

i'm so mad at myself, i found this before but i can't remember it anymore gdi (if i posted this before sorry KJDFHFD)

  • graphic novel
  • i think it was sci fi themed?
  • but it's an anthology (i don't know if it's from the Flight series but unfortunately i can't check the books ;;)
  • there is only ONE vivid memory of a short story that was on there
    • note: i don't think there's a human character and they're all weird animal looking humanoids
    • a group of explorers find themselves in some sort of lost civilization with streets and stairs, everywhere around the paths there's a bunch of white lines on the ground
    • the entire place is empty and as they look around some alarm goes off
    • suddenly, people (they're all brown anthro-like/ bear looking guys in business suits and briefcases(??) all perfectly lined up one in front of the other, following the white lines ignoring the group of explorers
      • image of what i think the civilians looked like
        • line%20guy.png
    • the group bumps into a group of the civilians and one of the civilians fall down the stairs and he's OFF the line (also has a pretty gnarly nosebleed? and got knocked out)
    • i don't remember if there was a scene before this but the group of explorers AND the civilian that fell down the stairs are all sentenced to a prison(?) and there's a bunch of skulls/ bones and plant life
    • the group is annoyed and argue with each other before they finally get together to find a way out of the area
    • the group looks at the civilian that got put in with them and asks if he can help/ wants to get out of here with them, the civilian just has a blank confused stare and does not move or respond
    • the group gives up and they start to walk down some path to find a way out, one of the explorers has a long stick and drags the stick along the ground, making a line on the dirt
    • the civilian looks at the line on the dirt, and the last panel has his posture looking sad/ dejected, following the line that the explorer made

EDIT: i am like. 75% sure it's from Flight Volume Two but i can't  fucking find the book to check it AUGH-- I HOPE IT'S NOT ON THERE SO I  CAN LOOK AT IT AGAIN BUT...

EDIT 2: losing my confidence of it  being from the Flight series....... could be because i seriously can't  find book 2 anywhere at all but i vaguely remember seeing Saga of Rex  before (i don't remember if they were in the same book)

EDIT 3: HOLY SHIT, I THINK IT MIGHT BE IN VOLUME THREE, I FOUND HOW THE CHARACTERS FROM THIS YOUTUBE VIDEO (timestamped) checking it out right now to see if i can find volume 3

EDIT 4: the story is "Beneath the Leaves: Lemming City" - Rad Sechrist!! the  fucking ordeal i had to go through to finally find it... i was SO LUCKY  that youtube video showed the pages AND for it to clearly show the page  numbers. i couldn't find the (full) book anywhere from looking it up  online so i thought it was a dead end. i found a site that posted the  cover up to the table of contents and tried to look up whatever story  was between pages 92 and 97 and found the title of the story. i looked  up the story to see if it was posted separately ANYWHERE but it led me  back to the archive site i was using to try to look at Flight Vol. 2,  the reason why i couldn't find Flight Vol. 3 was because it was  INCORRECTLY just named Flight, so it got smothered by a lot of other  titles/ books of the same name. i'm going to sleep. i haven't found  anything on the manga above yet.

LunarLuxia

terrence OMG THATS IT THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Agent_Mace

Would love to see the lost pilot for Clone High someday 😔

CanineKing

malaphur OH MY GOD YES, THANK YOU!!

i had a feeling it was from that manga but i was too freaked out by the imagery to actually read through it to look for it  and thought it was from something else, i have no idea how my younger self read it

I've been looking for two shows I loved as a little kid for a while. If anyone can find them, I'll be very grateful!

1. A cartoon about a bigender mc who dresses in black leather and either fights or commits crime with a panther.

2. An anime with a red haired mc who turns into another guy at night or something. Night guy has questionable morals and long purple hair.

I watched both in the early-mid 2000s so they're either from around that time or the late 1900s.
