Things you learned at an embarrassingly late age

Posted 7 years, 3 days ago (Edited 7 years, 4 hours ago) by MiscBoardMod

I saw this thread on reddit the other day and it was an overall pretty funny thread just because of some of the things people haven't learned until much later and some people who have had the same thing happen!

Now to be clear, do NOT  make fun of ANYONE in this thread!! It's only to share funny little stories and giggles etc, but please don't be rude to others about it! Some things may be obvious to you, while it's not the same for everyone!

As always, if there is any sensitive content that you feel may need to be blacked out, please do so!

There's not much more to add to this, so go wild!

Ever since i was 5 i thought Pep Boys was like... a store that only guys were allowed in and girls would get kicked out if they tried to get in... i didnt even know what was in it i just assumed it was like video games and sports and stereotypical guy shit.

I didnt realize it was a mechanic store until i was 15...

Im currently 17...

Im a dumbass.

(27) I found out that you can get free (local) cable using an antenna.

I 'forgot'. I was 21 myself when I was using an antenna to catch all of the local stations. But that was the only time in my life I did it. Then a law in AZ passed outlawing the use of antennas but I guess it got removed sometime between then and now??? Either way I feel dumb for forgetting antennas are a thing since I just use netflix LOL

I didn't learn how to read until I was halfway through the first grade. My teacher was walking by while I was taking a mini reading test to see where I was at, and the question was a fill-in-the-blank.
"I can tie my _____."
My answer was house, apparently, because the teacher tapped my shoulder and asked "So you know how to tie your house?", and I was so confused, so I just said yes. After that, I was in a special class to be taught how to read.

Now, reading is my favorite thing to do. <3

Wow sorry to bring back a dead thread

I didn't know a Samoyed was a dog breed. I thought it was just a white fluffy dog and the internet collectively called them 'Samoyeds'. Kinda like how all Shiba Inus are 'Doges'.
