Account-wide content warnings are a great feature of this site, but lately I’ve seen many instances of them being misused. People commonly use them to tell others not to steal, copy or trace their work, which is redundant as the rules of the site already forbid art theft. I’ve also seen people use this feature to advertise their sales threads among other things. I think you’ll agree with me that neither of these examples are those of genuine content warnings and that there should be a rule against the misuse of this feature.

The misuse of the system is the reason I've pretty much stopped reading warnings at this point.

k said this in a similar/diff thread but the fact people are using something that's supposed to protect people from potentially harmful content to post redundant/sitewide rules and advertise really kills the purpose of it
This is maybe just me chiming in with an already belaboured idea, but I think that it could potentially be REALLY helpful if the Content Warning page had a set of options sort of like we already have for image uploads? By that I mean - it could be REALLY helpful if, on top of there being a space for people to further elaborate with more specific warnings, there were a handful of basic warnings [i.e. 'gore, sexual content, disturbing content'] and maybe a few more specific warnings [i.e. sexual assault, eroguro, idk] that could be selected by the user, and show up as distinct buttons or tags above the write-in description, so that users can assess at a glance some of the more major warnings and read on from there?

I rarely look into others profiles and im new to the site but ive seen like one person using them correctly as people here are saying they should be used and like all other instances were commision related-
(stumbled across this while looking for how to get up a profile warning, again über sorry about necroposting, im not trying to main the necromancer class-)
