This was a conversation my friends and I were having earlier about our characters: everyone has certain character archetypes they're a sucker for-- or maybe ones that they can't help but keep making. What's your poison?
You can interpret this generally: maybe archetypes like "jerks with a heart of gold", personality traits like "smug", storylines like "friends who fall in love", whatever types of characters you love to see or create!
My characters:
a) idiots but they try
b) feelings are hard let's never talk about them
c) conflict resolution is hard let's never talk about it
- serial killers, add some spice for flavour (cannibalism/human leather/artistic crime scene)
- stupid goblin cryptids
- awkward nerds, all of them are autistic cause hah self projection

oh and they all need therapy
For me it's:
- Gay ppl
- Trans individuals
- Accidentally making them neurodivergent
- Polyamory
- Not thinking before they speak gang lol
Gosh. I am in LOVE with these:
-Gentle giants
-The mentor
-The laid-back character who is actually strong and powerful when they need to be.
- heart full of love, head full of dumb.
- the “GROWL HISS KILL BITE BITE”
- stupid, theyre in their mid 20’s, but they act like their 13.
- furries who have been around for years
- the cool kids
- mmmmmmm flashy colors yum
- like, a lot of gay characters ig because i can and its nice.
- ”oh sorry i didnt mean to explode your house heres 20 bucks for dinner tonight.”
- bubbly characters
- seem so grumpy and sad when you first meet them but when you get to know them theyre nice
- cant keep track of their stuff
- bubbly, flirty and always into something new, is smarter than he/she seems.
- introverted and emotional, but acts tough.

I used to love RP'ing warriors. Now I'm very much into magic users.
- Tired and mildly depressed introverts with a good head on their soldiers and a no-nonsense type of attitude of varying levels.
- 'Evil/scary' species (Demons, ghosts, gorgons, etc) that aren't actually bad; usually they're misunderstood due to the assumptions people make of them based on their species.
- Pure, kind, and literally just wants to make friends and spread joy.
- Fun and confident gals who somehow always end up more stable and sensible than their friends. Bonus points if they have a friend or multiple friends that fit into the first archetype.
- Big and strong/intimidating but doesn't do violent or destructive activities unless you test them or mess with their loved one(s).
- Assholes with anger or manipulation issues that somehow manage to be among my favorites anyways. (Staring intently at Colin, Mizuno, and Cadence)
- Obnoxious or dramatic attention-seeking characters who most people in their world don't like or can't handle.
- Aloof characters who don't really do the whole 'emotions' thing that well and are generally very hard to read. (Bonus points if they're friends with or dating someone who's very open or the aforementioned attention-seeker archetype)
- Loners who are actually pretty successful at being on their own. (They usually only have like two friends/regular visitors tops and are 100% fine with this)
Here's mine!
-group of three/four, with one being the obvious strong one, one being the dumbass, and then the tiny that's ACTUALLY the strong one
-Each character has an implied ethnicity to give them a bit of spice, but it's not important to the character, usually.
