This was a conversation my friends and I were having earlier about our characters: everyone has certain character archetypes they're a sucker for-- or maybe ones that they can't help but keep making. What's your poison?
You can interpret this generally: maybe archetypes like "jerks with a heart of gold", personality traits like "smug", storylines like "friends who fall in love", whatever types of characters you love to see or create!
My characters:
a) idiots but they try
b) feelings are hard let's never talk about them
c) conflict resolution is hard let's never talk about it
- silly and fun dorks
- androgynous/gnc designs, especially more tomboyish girls
- gamer
- glasses or other eyewear
- in their 20s (or physically so for those chars that don't really Have An Age)
- they're just vibing and rarely too serious
- exhausted
- crave attention but are terrified of actually getting it
- masc in a queer way
- masks as a cheeky bastard bc they're vulnerable :•(
I typically make men/male presenting folks so this isn't fully exhaustive. Mostly tho. I dunno if my femme presenting ocs have enough similarities to draw on like that.
i keep falling in the "smug little shit" personality, but it's just so charming! I am also a sucker for found family and characters slowly finding happinnes within themselves :3

Absolutely adorable ship dynamics (especially just when the hero and villain are in a casual romantic relationship and after a long day of fighting eachother they sleep in the same bed. Unless one made another especially angry during the fighting, then they are sleeping on the couch)
