Most of my characters are on their teen phases and I like the theme 'Seishun' a lot, so most of my characters are either teens/young adults.
Pretty much what it says on the tin, as always! I was wondering about this since I see that many users seem to have a preferred age range, or sometimes an exclusive age range for their characters! What's yours? (I'm of course talking about physical/mental age here; keep that in mind if you mostly have immortal OCs)
Also, please stay nice in your replies! Having preferences is 100% okay, but don't insult people of a given age range (ie. "elderly people are ugly", "minors are boring"), whether you're referring to real life people or just characters. I want this thread to stay enjoyable to read for everyone, no matter their age or the type of characters they write.
i prefer my characters to be at least 19. most of my characters tend to be 25-35, and i default to the early thirties. i dont rly like having characters younger than me or as old as my parents. so i dont LOL
I mean, I'm mostly an nsfw artist, so I prefer all my ocs to be over 18, but more so, over 19
Most of my dog characters don't really have an age range though, since I don't do anything spicy with them LMAO But I still have a mental age of... 16 - 20
I'd say most of my characters are 18 - 30!

Most of my character are aged of over 18 years old. Even if I make baby/child characters I mostly focus on their story when they are adults or at least in their pre-adult years.
There are some exceptions, tho! But these are pretty rare for me
Honestly I prefer 14-25 because that's my age bracket and I feel like they're just in their prime and ready to have fun.
My youngest is Ophie (12 when the story starts) and my oldest (excluding story characters) is 25
My age range is usually 12-25 because their just starting out in life, and theirs so much for them out there still :D
my characters tend to be in the mid 20's to early 40's ish range, from what I can briefly see running through my notes. I think I just like that mix of youthful boldness mixed with the more wise/mature nature of someone older.
most of my characters are in their 20s/30s, demons/otherworldly creatures that are 100+ years old, or ageless/immortal
i tend to make characters in their 20s, even when i was younger bc it was like impossible for them to have had the backstory they did and be a teenager, its kinda weird now tho bc I'm like just hitting the average age of my old ocs. i think i actually have some plot things too that make older characters harder for me to write too. one of my main stories centers around a bunch of sophomores in college so they kinda have to be in their 20s. and my other story has a lot of characters 24 and under bc smthn happened 24 years ago in the lore. outside of those specific groups tho i have quite a few older characters. i think i only have one character under 18 tho lol, i don't even mean to not write kid characters, i just dont
