What's your preferred age range for OCs?

I'll be totally honest, most of my characters don't have a defined age (as they're dragons/demons/etc.) but in terms of... character "mentality" (I guess? Like the age they act like/appear as), most of my characters are in the 25-45 age range, give or take.

I've never really cared for underage characters (nothing personal, truly- I just honestly am not a fan of kids IRL, and when it comes to my roleplaying and writing, I've always touched on mature themes in one way or another so I haven't really had a use for them?)- so even when I was much younger, the characters I played were always adults.

I actually usually lean towards older characters (with a max of about 50, give or take) and always have!

I have a ton of kid characters cause found families, adoption and the sort is supet important to me. So my range is like 5 to 80.

I love having older characters and i enjoy giving characters the things I didnt have. So grandmas and grandpas are a big thing for me.

Outside of my family settings. Characters sit between 25 and 45 generally.

I like to keep my characters around my own age.  When I get older I usually age up my characters as well.  So currently they are in the 18-23 range.

I keep my OCs around my age range. Not super intentional just kinda happens that way. Some characters are older or younger depending... But most between 25-30.

I have <20 characters so I prefer to keep them all the same age range??

20-35 is the range most of my ocs fall into :0

Hm, IDK what my range is across all my OCs, but I have a lot of kid/teen characters so I'd say most of my characters are 12-25. I think I gotta echo others and say I like to draw characters I can relate to/can remember what it's like to be that age. Plus it's the age group a lot of animated media focuses on so it's what a lot of influences on my character design come from

My characters are usually between the ages of 18-30-ish I'd say? Most though tend to be like...20-24. I tend to keep them either around my own age (21) or older than me because I relate more to them >u< Even when I was a young, most of my characters were written as 3-4 years older than me *shrugs*

I almost always go for middle-aged or older characters. All of them with the exception of like.... 3 characters are over the age of 30, and a significant portion of them are over 50. I think it's because they tend to be underrepresented in the OC world, so I kinda compensate by flipping expectations ig lmao- I also kind of like older characters since it leaves more room for established backstories and traits, although this can be a hindrance when developer's block happens. To be fair, half of them are super old because of family development shenanigans though yuwegdiua- (My main character Fyodor is like 45, so anyone in the previous generations has to be at least 60-70 years old. :"))))))

(typically) Most of my characters tend to be in the range of 25-60 with a lean towards the older characters; I like having a bit of range for myself and while I definitely have some younger or older than my usual that tends to be where I stay. I've never been great with younger ocs and even when I was a teenager I believe my first few characters were in their 40's. I just like the more mentally mature 'type' of character and I'm just trash for the older ocs I guess.

Most of my characters are somewhere between 15-28. I play 30 somethings as well, but mostly, characters outside my usual range tend to be side characters or NPCs. I'd love to broaden my range xD but it's just easier to write OCs closer to my own age (similar to what most of you guys have been saying as well!) Back when I first started roleplaying, I was 11 so my OCs were in the 10-16 range.
