What does the OC above say about their owner?

This thread has rules regarding the effort you have to put in your replies. Please read them carefully before claiming and posting. Violation of these rules could lead to a warning or a ban from my forum games.

Basically a 'lite' version of What do the above user's OCs say about them?. I thought it could be fun! This time, you post IC and you have to tell what the specific OC above (posted IC as well) says about their owner, be it their tastes, personality, way of writing, etc.

  • Please put effort into your claim, and do your best to make it interesting to read!
    • Read the profile of the character you’re claiming! Don’t base your claim on design only; make sure you know what the character is about before writing.
    • Don't state the obvious only, such as "you like this character a lot", "you like anthro characters", or "you like pastel aesthetics". It's fine to use these as a starter, but your final response has to be more thought-out than vague, surface-level assumptions. In other words, do not simply describe the OC above you and then add that their owner probably likes this type of character.
    • Do not simply project the OC's personality unto their owner as well; if a character is described as being nice, shy and liking flowers, do not simply say "you're probably nice, shy, and like flowers". Try to make it a bit more interesting: do you think the user above you has a garden they tend, or are they rather the kind of person to be interested in botany?
    • Don't be afraid to take risks and to be specific; it's okay if your assumptions end up being wrong, as long as you explain your reasoning behind them.
    • Try to be fair, especially if the person above you took the time to write a long paragraph. Don't write one sentence or line only.
  • Please make sure the OC you post has a bio with enough substance for the next poster to have something to write about.
  • For everyone's comfort, please refrain from posting NSFW or otherwise possibly disturbing characters. If you really do want to use such OCs, please offer an alternative at the end of your post so the game doesn't get stuck.
  • You can claim a post if you want to be safe, but please edit it quickly after.
  • There’s no specific post limit, but avoid spamming the thread or claiming the same user over and over again.
  • Stay nice to other people; even if the character above you don't fit your tastes, doesn't make passive-aggressive assumptions.

Have fun! Let's start with Judas (:
Blair Aarix

Hello 👀

Aaah I like this dude.... feral jester fhfhfh I love characters like this too oh no
(also blair 🤝 paschal
         blue red yellow    )

pls forgive me if I'm wrong in any of these but where's the fun in not trying 2 go 4 the juggler jugular :'v I'm compelled to diagnose most ppl on TH as introverts just by the nature of OC collection/creation as a hobby, so that's where I'm starting from.

Because his whole life centres around being a charming entertainer I think that might be an idea you find appealing personally, whether or not it's actually  feasible in your life. I would not be surprised if you're a musician yourself, though it wouldn't be something you made an entire lifestyle out of. You might have been the sort who had (secret?) aspirations of being an actor or a singer when you were younger, before real life overtook them. Maybe you also relate to Paschal's feelings of restlessness and boredom with your everyday life. he strikes me as someone who's pretty impulsive, but I think that you are the opposite, you tend to think and overthink your actions. I don't think you share Paschal's cocky overconfidence, but you might share his desire to be adored by others and could find yourself being a bit too much of a people-pleaser at times.

I actually didn't realise he was a dainty until I read that he was  :'v because he's CS, I think being a part of a community is something you find appealing, even (or maybe especially) if it's something you do quietly and at your own pace. You might be a shy kind of person, but having a connection to others that's more of a passive one could be appealing. You'd rather be a part of something bigger than cloister yourself away entirely. You like people and you like pretty things. You have a good eye for aesthetics too aah I do really like his design :O

I also think you are about 20? There's emphasis that Paschal is young, and I think someone who was still a teenager would be like "oh 24 yeah thats old" fhfhfh. Another random thought of mine is that you are a fan of either musicals, operas, or those cheesy so-bad-they're-good movies :'v You also might be the kind of person who enjoys going to thrift shops and looking at all the bad kitschy ceramics for the same reason :') you do have good taste but also you enjoy things that r a bit hammy and over the top & are charming because of it.

person below me if u dont wanna look at blair (fair enough!!! i very much invite evisceration by posting him) you're welcome to pick his mum Adriel instead :^) or favboy ryn if u would rather

Abby salternate

Reading up on this character, I can tell that you are really invested in your character's lore! The abandoned orphan trope has been used a lot, but the way this is used in Blair's backstory makes him so unique. I like how you use both herbalism and pyromancy as a skill; I can infer that you like how opposites attract.

This character has great development, and I can tell that you give your characters a lot of love and attention.

I think Angie has a want to be understood, and I think you do too, in turn? Maybe you want to communicate that through writing. You're definitely familiar with archetypes, but you want to explore / put your own spin on them. Agency is probably pretty important to you, too, both in fiction and in reality. She has really specific fears, so maybe you share some of those? Either that, or you just enjoy reading all the very specific phobia words, which I mean. Good. I also think the profile coding you've chosen / emphasis on things like her always holding Rocky or only smiling when something is wrong means that you have a solid sense of priorities here?

I think in terms of stories, you probably like deconstruction and themes common in sci-fi, even if the story itself isn't necessarily sci-fi. You like found family, but really only in moderation; you're more invested in characters developing relationships of any kind as a whole, good or bad. You like exploring religious themes to a degree, but I think it's purely an interest rather than an influence from something you've lived with? Specificity and small details arepretty important to you, too!

Some more wild assumptions: I also suspect you might like JJBA, but only due to the amount of song references here. It didn't invent song references and it's not the only media to do it, but it seems like it's the most popular? You're also maybe a New Englander, because of the Red Sox hat she wears, and I think indie games and documentaries appeal to you!

^^Oh man, I'm glad to hear it! I'm a New Englander myself, lmao, so I think that one might've been cheating.

v you're about half-right! i like dark themes, fantasy, angsty romance tropes, and tend to slip into hardcore cynicism, but the rest is off or a (very) near-miss! still, a valiant effort! i actually prefer happier endings to balance out the fact that i like super dark themes; you gotta draw the line somewhere and be all "he's suffered enough", but i also don't want to erase a character's problems because their big conflicts are over (Petrel is a good example).

 Una Minanami

(Hi, this is my third time writing this because I accidentally deleted my first two attempts. Also sorry in advance if I get a lot of things wrong.)

First, based on how long the lore is and what it says, I think you like to worldbuild and develop characters a lot, though you like to develop characters more as a lot of what was written is about his thoughts and feelings about the situations he's in. When it comes to stories, your favorite genre might be fantasy, and when it comes to themes, you like really dark themes and psychological themes (like stories focused on how one would think given a certain situation). Maybe you also like stories with bad endings, or bittersweet endings, because of how the lore part of his profile ends (even though that's probably not the actual end of his story maybe).

For non-story related things, first, a part of me feels like you have a good relationship with your family, because of Adil's relationships with the old man and his daughter (Sahar?). Also, your favorite romance trope is the forbidden love trope, besides the fact that his parents' relationship is basically this, it's just one of the darker romance tropes I can think of. Lastly, I think, when it comes to personality, how you're most alike to Adil can be explained by this part of his profile: "Though he’d like to truly believe that the world can be better than it is, he needs validation for that mindset; if left to his own devices, he quickly slips into pessimism, and has trouble coming back out." I feel like it's harder for writers to write about character flaws than positive traits unless the writer actually knows about how it's like to have that flaw or something similar. (I say this mainly because of personal experience.).

For NP, you can choose either Sylvia or Una. Sylvia has more info about herself, while Una has more info on what happens to her.

vv You've pretty much got everything correct!

Edit: (first, thank you for the kind words here and in the how well known are you in TH thread!)

You're right about me liking fairytales! I tried to make Una's story sound like a fairytale, because it is a really famous fairytale/legend in her universe. I don't really make my stories and characters based on what I enjoy drawing. It affects how I design my characters, but not their stories.Though Una is actually a rare case where I made a random design that I really liked to draw, and then based her story on her design, but then I changed her design again to suit her story more.

You're pretty much right with everything else. (like with the star motif, me being underage, her having a lot of content written about her, wanting to show people my characters and having them posted as an archive, and being influenced by anime and manga) When it comes to fandoms, you're also correct with me gravitating towards ones with a lot of room for interpretation and AUs. For the last point, I think it's somewhat true? I'm not sure what are the loudest fandom activities, but I mainly interact with fandoms by looking at what other people made (whether art, fanfiction, etc.) and sometimes posting fanart online.

Leonhard (Leon) Millan Caine

From the way the story structure is built (royalty asking for a child, the celestial symbolism and the idea of a marked person) I like to think you probably like fairy tales and are very familiar with their structure! Seeing you're the artist behind the pieces too I want to toss in the assumption that you like to create your stories and characters based around the things you enjoy drawing, as Una's design is detailed yet shows confidence in each line and design element! With the star motif so strong I like to imagine you like it as a whole and not just for this character in particular.

I also checked the content warning (which seems to be for your user rather than for Una) but the mention of most of your characters being underage or appearing child makes me assume you're probably a minor as well, though this assumption is entirely based on the "people tend to make characters around their age" idea. You probably have a lot of content written for her since her profile states it's a wip despite already having quite a lot of detail! And going from that I want to assume you probably really want to show your characters to people and have them posted as an archive for yourself rather than waiting until you get the entire lengthy profile done.

I don't think this is a very mind blowing assumption but you're probably very influenced by anime and manga (as am I!!) and probably also gravitate towards fandoms with a lot of room for AUs and personal interpretations. Just as a gut feeling though I imagine you probably like to keep your distance from the loudest fandom activities and prefer to do your own thing with a few friends.

If Leon isn't your cup of tea feel free to pick Jet instead! They both have decently short profiles

VVV

Actually I'm an extrovert! I used to read a lot but now as older I mainly read manga and everything else is forced on me by uni haha. Other than that though I think it was pretty spot on!

 Sister Halloween saintlapin

I think you're an introvert! Someone that likes to read a lot, perhaps? Whether it's classic books or graphic novels, you seem to like to keep your mind busy. Your writing style gives off a mature vibe to me, so it further reinforces my belief that you are well-read. I think that you are an adult because of that, and because you have included a lot of details in Leon's profile that may seem small, but are pretty important to creating a believable character.

Also, in a lot of those details, I find some things that point to you being well-educated in the subject history and the like (such as the mention of his "mother's hysterics." hysteria was a pretty common uh.. "ailment" back in the day, as I'm sure you know!)

You said that this was a decently short profile--and that shows to me that you put A LOT into things and hobbies you care about because, to me, Leon's profile is longer than the average "short"profile. You seem to be a very thorough person, maybe almost to the point of fixation (I don't mean this in a negative way, btw!) Your art reminds me of vintage manga, so I can assume you love vintage things, and intricate (maybe frilly or delicate?) art & clothing.

You have an interest in the paranormal and enjoy ghost stories, I think. Also Leon's quote makes me believe you are quite the memer LOL

IC or Aelynthi Silverleaf please!

Ximena salida

Judging from the character herself and from the art in the relationships section, i'd say you enjoy very elegant and perhaps gothic clothing and designs? Not sure if gothic is the right word, but the red and black palette with the striking yellow eyes(which i absolutely love btw) really give that impression... like you prefer darker color palettes instead of bright saturated colors or pastels. charlotte is very small and petite but very strong, so i assume you enjoy characters that aren't quite what they seem, or the complete opposite of what they seem. theres not much detail in this profile, so perhaps you dont like to tell a lot of details? you might have a lot of information on charlotte but you only share brief and important details on toyhouse. something tells me theres more to her than whats written.

Since she's a demon hunter i think you enjoy action and not just pretty and elegant designs, or maybe just tough women in general. charlotte is beautiful but could also easily kick your ass... maybe you've been religious in the past or you like the aesthetic of christianity/catholicism? you probably enjoy a lot of dark media or the horror genre, and her relationship/feelings towards father valentine tells me you like love conflicts or forbidden relationships. Your art doesn't seem to be very anime influenced to me, so im kinda assuming you dont watch much of it, or at least not anymore and other things have influenced your drawings instead.

in character or anyone else from the same folder is fine!

--------

HONESTLY.... everything you said is absolutely true except for one thing... i'm not particularly into any kind of alternative fashion.

Heron Aarix

Hmm 👁

My first assumption will be a safer one: judging by Ximena's fashion tastes, I want to say you've got a soft spot for goth/alt fashion yourself! Moreso in casual and androgynous ways than in the super ornamented frilly impractical stuff.

My second assumption is that you prefer realism in your human OCs! which isn't to say u don't enjoy supernatural stuff, i mean psychological & physical realism. She's not the typical anime twig girl u see all over the place, she isnt girly and sweet, but she isn't cartoonishly rough either. she feels human. I think that this humanity is something thats important to u when u write, and its also something u look for in the media you consume. You're more into people and stories than you are into aesthetics or species. Poking through the rest of that folder u linked, ur characters seem to be for projects rather than just existing as pretty untethered things. You like supernatural elements, but i get the impression they play an auxiliary role to more character-driven stories.

Based on the high level of quality of the writing and art, I think you are probably in your twenties, and that you are either a uni student or have been a uni student before. Also, if I had to guess I would say that u are probs at least a bit attracted 2 women? Just because I honestly do not see a lot of lesbian characters from ppl who r not also into girls :v

now I'm REALLY going out on a limb here and am aiming 4 something more personal, so pls forgive me if I have overstepped, but I'm operating on my own assumption that all creators tend to project on2 their creations at least a little. And Ximena's relationship with her family is... rough, and justifiably resentment-filled. I think you, at the very least, share the belief that love and trust is something that absolutely must be earned and maintained, rather than granted automatically by virtue of being related to someone. Those people may have pressured you to be or behave in a certain way which neglects to take in2 account your own individuality and needs. You are not quick to forgive and forget, and you have learned how to shield yourself from other peoples bullshit and attempts at manipulation.

I also see that u are into ur astrology 👀 rising & moon signs are fun to see on an OCs page in addition to the usual sun. perhaps not as a spiritual thing, but maybe more as a system of categorizing, organizing, and understanding things in your own way. You probably have looked through your entire birthchart before.... whether just out of curiosity, or as a way of reflecting on whats happening in your own mind and in the world around you.

Also I suspect u are into spiders >:V since u go so far as to list specific species on her profile. If u dont own one, i think u probably at least find them cool rather than creepy ;v

if heron's not your cuppa tea you're welcome to have a go at ryn or adriel or blair instead 👁

Ooh yeah pretty accurate on all counts! :v + no worries man Iike to ramble ;p

 Dragoslav Dragunov comrade_dragoslav

Spoilered because it's a bit long.

Upon seeing his name, I got the impression that you were interested in chemistry, because of the "-ium" suffix that many periodic table elements have. When I looked at his profile, though, that assumption was completely thrown out the window. And I'm not disappointed at all.

Judging by his traits, I would assume that you watch a lot of cartoons, since many iconic cartoon characters, like Bill Cipher for example, have an exaggerated and chaotic feel to them that naturally makes them the fan-favorites. They're the ones that everyone is waiting to see the moment they start watching the episode. His unique design, especially the eyes on his clothes, really emphasizes his personality as well! If his story was ever made into a cartoon, he would definitely become my favorite character in no time.

On the topic of design, his mostly black and white color scheme with the exception of his cape and parts of his face makes me think that you're into characters that aren't what they seem, or characters that have a lot more to offer if you take a second look at them. This one is a bit of a long shot, but it's something I wanted to point out, as the cape appears to be hidden in some pictures, so I interpreted that as the vast amount of detail about him that can be uncovered just by diving a little deeper into his character.

Mendacium's fixation on the concept of love, and the intriguing yet concerning way he interprets it, makes me assume that you have a very creative mind! The amount of information about his powers and beliefs reinforces this; it shows that you have a lot to say, and you're clearly passionate about his lore. Whether or not you share his views, it also tells me that you can look at just about anything in a different way. There are various interpretations of love out there, but I've never seen a character who thinks of love as fundamental for a happy life, and then acts as a grim reaper when he finds someone who doesn't fit into this rule! I would've never thought of that for any of my characters.

The constant twists and turns in his lore make him a very interesting and original character, and he gets an instant favorite from me.

Whoever goes next: Try not to mention how Dragoslav's profile isn't complete yet, as that generally makes me uncomfortable.

Tahlia Ciary

Wait, Dolly is not a fursona. but she's a poodle?

There is many things this says about you:
First of all, you like fluffy cute pink things. because dolly is that. fluffy cute and pink. I mean, it's obvious.
But, you also don't like to go for the obvious. Because Dolly is not a poodle. she is a poodle windup toy (Love that idea). that makes her very unique. and I'd say that you like things unique. That tells me you yourself either feel unique but don't want to be, or you don't feel special but you want to.
Then there is Dolly's interests which makes me think you are into fashion.

So, to put it all together, You're a person who feels like they are nothing special. mostly invisible to most people. And you are afraid to stand out. but, you really want this to be different. you want to shine and for people to notice your happy personality. you want to come out of your shell being recognized as cute and friendly. however you're afraid. afraid that, if you do that, you will end up burning out and falling back down
That's what I got

I love dolly. so this tells me you also have a similar taste in characters. I also want to add:

 Augustin Medvedik comrade_dragoslav

Judging by her intricate design and detailed backstory, I can tell that you have a liking for complex aesthetics/themes, and the amount of explanations given about her background tell me that you like to paint a very clear picture in readers' minds. I think that Tahlia is one of your favorite characters that you own, not just because of the aforementioned things, but also because I remember seeing her in forum games multiple times!

I assume that concepts such as natural elements(earth, water, fire, air), possession, and reincarnation interest you. While these aren't necessarily directly linked to Tahlia, she gives me that sort of mystical feel that is commonly associated with these concepts. You like to explore how characters interact with each other, seeing as multiple other characters are mentioned in her backstory, but you also like to incorporate world-building as well, since there are many references to the dynamics of Earth and the celestials. You also like to look at the story from the perspectives of each character, and include their thoughts when writing. All of this combined makes for a very intriguing and well thought out story, which helps readers truly understand the role of every character, and makes them want to keep reading all the way to the end!
