Ask a question to the user above you!

Posted 5 years, 11 months ago (Edited 5 months, 12 days ago) by hedgemaze

We have lots of threads to ask questions to or about characters, but what about the users? In the vein of the Say something to the TH user above you! thread and the I want to see a TH user who... thread (and serving basically as a non-anonymous CuriousCat), this is a thread to help you get to know your fellow TH users better by asking the person above you a question. In return, the person below you will pose a question to you. After you're asked a question, edit your post with your answer!

If you're uncomfortable or don't want to answer the question you were given for any reason, just say so and leave a fun fact about yourself so the game still serves its purpose. If a question is truly problematic, message me with any concerns.

Rules:

  • Don't ask questions that are very personal or could be uncomfortable, and bear in mind that many TH users are minors, so while I encourage you to look at the profile of the user above you and ask about something mentioned if you like (like their pets, their hobbies, or their current project), please don't ask very personal questions like exactly where someone lives.
  • Try to ask something fun or interesting, but it's fine if you don't know the person above you at all-- getting to know each other better is the point of this thread! It's fine to ask something general like what their hobbies are, who their favorite fictional character is, how they came up with their username, which of their own characters is their favorite, or how they found ToyHouse.
  • Of course, it's great if you ask something more specific, too! If you know they have a lot of fandom characters, you might ask how they got into that fandom, or if they have a unique art style, you might ask how they developed it!
  • There's another thread for specific questions about characters, and another for worlds, but you can ask general/broader questions about a person's creations here, like how long they've been working on their story, or what inspires or influences them. I'm not going to keep writing examples, but you get the idea. Just use common sense and try to get to know your fellow TH users better!
  • You can ask multiple questions in your comment if you want to, but only one is fine, too. This can be as in-depth or as casual as you like.
  • Please ping the person above you so you make sure that they see your question! If you're not sure how to do this, you simply type @THEIRUSERNAME, and they will be notified! This will not work if you edit the ping into your comment later (like if you wanted to claim and then edit your question in); you must put it in when you first submit the comment.
  • You are NOT ALLOWED to skip anyone in this thread. If you cannot see the post above you because the poster or you have blocked each other, wait for another person to comment before replying to the thread. Feel free to bump the thread to encourage others to participate!
  • Wait at least a couple of posts before going again.
  • Edit your original comment with your answer to keep this clear; please DO NOT add new comments to the thread just to answer someone's question. This gets confusing. Take it to private messages if you want to have an ongoing conversation.
  • You can bump the thread as often as you like; I don't mind.
  • Be nice and have fun!   Please don't be rude if someone asks you a question you've already answered before! If that happens, you may link your previous response if you don't want to go over it again, but I recommend adding something new to say about the topic, if you can!
  • Want to play the game in reverse? Answer a question from the user above!

The first person can either ask me something or just claim a spot!

Edit: my answer

"Hedgemaze Expo" is the name of the main characters' band in my comic! I've been using either HedgemazeExpo or Hedgemaze as a username ever since, which is to say since 2003! Most people just call me Hej for short now.

The name itself doesn't mean much of anything, other than that I liked both words and liked the sort of paradoxical nature of an exposition dedicated to huge structures that can't be moved (what do they exhibit, photos? bush samples? tiny mazes?). In terms of the comic, it's just supposed to be a unique, kind of awkward, and silly band name, because in-story, it's an inside joke between my characters Jill and Amber.

How old were you when you learned a second language? Also, how did you become so interested in Slavic countries? I love them as well, so it's cool to find someone else who likes them! Also, I see you like the Sims, what's your opinion of the Sims 4 and the DLC :0??

Yo, these questions are super cool ahh! And thank you, I strive for uniqueness ^^ My inspiration list is gonna be really long because I LOVE RAMBLING

-I found out about OFF because of a let's play a very long time ago. I found it again and played through it myself and absolutely fell in love with it. I'm not sure why, but the way the story is told is so pleasing. There's so many theories that can be made based on the way the story is told. Just theorizing about the meaning behind everything and then learning about the laws of the world is so much fun. The game holds a very close place to my heart, so I tend to mention it a lot.

My inspirations . . . Are just weird and most of them are intangible so hopefully this is coherent. I'm going to just put the main points in bold, so you can skim through my rambles if you want.

-The premise for the universe I've created was based on an ideal place to live where anyone could do anything as long as they were extremely willing (to die or to be harmed). This was heavily inspired by my search for the best religion and how I disliked the heaven and hell aspect of it but I didn't really like reincarnation... So I combined all of it.

- All of my stories are heavily inspired by my hatred for the "everyone is normal except for this group of people." I like to make characters who are aware of the fact that they can do WHATEVER they want even if it's not relatively "good." I like to have a sense of anarchy. There's a group of people who aren't special or anything, but because they did some atypical things, they're having the time of their life rather than... suffering in the monotonous drone of daily life.

-My biggest inspiration is probably poorly executed cool concepts (does that even make sense?) An example of something that was cool but done badly was the Silent Hill movie. It didn't remind me of the game at all, and in fact it should've just been an entirely different thing, but the idea behind it was pretty cool. A girl who could see the world falling apart around her as she was drawn back to her home town, Silent Hill, but when there, all of the inhabitants try to kill her and believe she's evil. I thought the movie was stupid, but the imagery was super cool. So, I twisted it in my head until it wasn't a disappointment.

-My dreams. They're super weird, but my coolest ideas have come from dreams. I have an entire story based on a series of dreams I had. Also, colors in my art are heavily inspired by dreams

-Uhh, aesthetics. This is basic, but I have a ton of boards on Pinterest and when I look at them, it's like inspo x10. Art block? Look at moodboards? Need to make a new character, make a cool moodboard! Moodboards!!  It's very obvious how often I look at my moodboards when comparing my art,, to my Pinterest profile...

-Biggest art/story inspiration ever is probably Atsushi Okubo. His stories are really WEIRD and I love them! You may recognize him from the work Soul Eater, but I've been reading this manga by him called Fire Force and his art style is just A++ and his stories are A++ and I love him. I feel like he is probably the most obvious influence behind my work. I'm also heavily inspired by Jhonen Vasquez! I like how his characters can do whatever they want, and he can add so much oddness to everything, yet it is still cohesive? Also, his work is really gritty...

@TheFaeryKing Every time i see ur art and characters i think theyre really unique and would like to know— Do you have any inspirations? like do u have a certain artist or game or show or something that helped inspire ur art style or ocs? also how did u find out about OFF? (bc its fandom is almost dead and im glad to see another fan TTwTT)

-

Oh, don’t worry about it, it’s fine!!!!!

Yeah, that’s the GHOST! Uhhh I never really noticed but I guess some of my inspiration may come from them! I do like relating their songs to my OC’s since they tell a story and usually focus on some aspects of a person many people don’t really...like hearing? Like obsessiveness, manipulation, megalomania, dependency, etc. etc. (idk if those’re the right words bear with me i have like 3 words in my vocabulary) But yeah, and I really like the style of their songs! I remember when animating something, I wanted the dancing to look like the way their character moved in Happy Days, so I watched it like 20 times to get a feel of how they move HDJFKFJSHF. So that’s direct inspiration!!

About the bugs— OH JEEZ I WISH but sadly I cannot come up with good ideas. If I could draw anthros I’d totaly make a bugsona and some moth ocs and if i had the inspiration and ideas to do so i’d definitely make an oc based off some of my favorite bugs! But unfortunately the idea gods up in Art Hell are not helping me our. The closest I can get to bug ocs is my joke sona Bugy and a bunch of AUs haha.

OOOHGG I AM SO PUMPED FOR ART FIGHT. I love interacting with others there and especially SEEING ALL THE OCS omg. Art fight gets me SO motivated to do art it’s insane, I pump out like 3 or 4 fully colored pieces in a day just because I’m like a kid set looses in a candy store where all the candy is good freakin OCs. I can’t wait also because a lot of my friends are joining and I’m ready to drown them in art of their OCs, ha.

sorry in advance if theres a lot of typoes in there im using puffin browser and it is absolute ass and im too sleppy to look thru it for typoes

@buggey we haven't seen each other much so i took a short skim around your profile and i can only ask questions that aren't too much in depth, apologies! I also hope it isn't overwhelming!

  • Is GHOST supposed to be the Vocaloid producer?? Because they're the only ones I know so far with ghost capitalized haha, and it seems like that your work's slightly influenced by them? If so, how? (You can ignore this if the GHOST I was talking about was wrong haha)
  • Have you considered making OCs out of unique moths and caterpillars?
  • So you're also participating Art Fight this year! How pumped are you for it? Are you excited to meet/get to know the fellow participants?

@ Next user, as usual, please ping me! I tend to miss this thread, and I'll most likely answer in PM if it gets personal/buried!

  • What would you say got you into writing?

This is one helluva ride! I (indirectly) began writing when I was being that one young girl who plays alone and makes really hilarious stories with Barbie dolls. My uncle keeps on making me watch horror/action/suspense movies, which made me broaden my range in genres. I was that one edgy kid in primary school so I'd always write to myself, until one of my teachers discovered the way I write and made me enter essay contests during middle school, haha. I keep on getting lost in random articles about history or paradoxes, so I might oughta test my understanding skills about them by writing something inspired by it. 'o')

  • Do you have plans to write the story of A Land of Milk and Honey, as a comic or a (web?) novel or in some other medium? On that note, what medium would be your preference and why? Or do you regard it more as a sandbox space to have fun with your ideas and characters?

I have another sandbox that I have yet to show to the public soon and that's where I sort my ideas, while M&H is a story I'm planning to release as a webcomic or a VN in a form of a lightweight RPG with a few interactive battles, depending if I find a composer or not and have the patience to program. It all depends, but I'm rooting to make it as a VN more to make it more expressive! ; w;)/

callilux This is more of a random question lmao

But do you have any ticks? Have you noticed you do anything in particular when you're nervous or thinking and the such? I noticed I play with my hair a lot and I am really curious if you have any! Do they help you concentrate or calm down at all (if any)? :0

Caine OOOOOOOOH BOY do I remember. So, my first fandom OC I made when I actually knew what a fandom is was this creepypasta oc I made when I was a frustrated 13 year old named Lara. Sheeeeeeee basically had all the mary sue traits in the book but hey, I was a lil kiddy. Now, my first fandom oc that I made when I DIDN'T know what a fandom was (i didn't even have proper internet back then) were these two characters I named Dora and Lili and they were the daughters of Kilari and this other guy from this old as hell anime called Kilarin Revolution. Yeah. I'm not even gonna mention Butterfly the Cat and Death the Girl no sir.

For my style, thank you so much! To say it shortly, my art is a sausage fest. I tend to draw happy things and a lot of males as you can see by my characters :0 I love modern fashion and humanoids with all sorts of teeny tiny details like freckles, moles, scars, piercings, teeth gaps and the such! My favorite characters are totally the "imperfect" ones with things like scars and missing limbs and the such! as for a dislike, I see myself struggling with animals a lot so I tend to avoid them, same with backgrounds BUT I'm trying to fix that aha-

Also I do see myself enjoying original art more than fanart. I draw my faves from time to time as well, not gonna lie, but I do enjoy drawing my characters way more than the canon character :0

Caine

polkadot I see you have a lot of fandom OCs! Do you still remember the first fandom related OC you made, and if yes, what were they like?

Also I really love how colorful your art is & the way you do lineart is so pleasing to look at! What kind of things do you enjoy drawing the most? And what kind of things do you dislike or find the hardest to draw?

I'm always fascinated by your characters and how developed they all are. How do you start out making a character? Do you design them first and make the bio later, or do you usually know what kind of person they are before you draw them?

Thank you! The way I start making characters really depends based on if I made them while writing a story or if I got the inspiration from elsewhere! Because when I create random characters for a story I just come up with something that serves the right function within the story but might then become dear enough I start developing them past the point of were they're "needed", whereas ideas from random concepts and situations usually get developed instantly, if that makes sense?

I usually start by having a concept of some sort like "I want to have a ghost kid", and then I start working on the design, and during this process I also figure out the details of their characters! I usually spend much longer drawing the sketch refs and concepts than I spend writing their bios.

Also, are you currently working on any stories/projects aside from Sinfornia?

I always have something I'm working on! Right now I'm posting oneshots for Something Strange and I'm in the process of editing chapters for a novella I dubbed as Revenge Story kind of as a joke but it stuck to me lol. I also have plenty f other things in planning, like my old writing project I started in 2014 and have gotten a good +50k words for. I'm trying my hardest to devote myself to Sinfonia with my best ability to actually FINISH it one day but the truth is I get super antsy and nervous if I can't have multiple projects I juggle between

I've actually been a writer much longer than I've been an artist, but I've always liked making characters. So, my stories have always kinda had a focus on character development. I love writing interactions and scenes to show different parts of a character's personality and how they react in different situations. I tend to neglect worldbuilding, so my worlds are usually hardly developed at all (this is a bad habit that I need to stop doing XD). My inspirations come from all kinds of places - other books, fanfics, games, artwork, and a lot of the time, weird ideas that come entirely from my twisted imagination.

Some of my favourite things to write are oneshots, I've never been very good at writing novels or just longer things in general. I write a lot of things with a hurt/comfort theme (I torture my characters too much) and I also like doing emotional scenes, and fight scenes.

I love how this was ask a question but it turns into five-ten questions.

I see you write.

As a fellow writer (who isn’t too good tbh), how do you get ideas? What inspires you? Do you focus on world building? Developing characters? Issues? What is your favourite thing to write?

~•~

I currently am working on one with all of the characters in my Not For Sale folder. Some come later though. It’s called Development (great title, right? Nah I know it’s a boring one). I am really excited because that’s what it’s all about. Developing the characters from a few sentences on their personalities, developing the world, everything.

I like to explore rather serious topics and depressing themes- they are fun to research and write for me. I also love to write based on this question: How Can Context Be A Cage?

Ugh too many are hard. I cringe a lot and some of my dumb characters make me want to die for writing them... And Saffron can also be hell because of his stuck up ‘I’m Holyier than thou attitude.’

@taniwenic

Since you're a writer, I was wondering if you have a current story or project that you're working on with your characters? Do you have certain themes or subjects you like to explore in your writing? Are any kinds of characters easy or hard for you to write?

Oh this is always hard haha. I'll link some favorite songs with these.

This list is going to leave out obvious faves like Jefferson Airplane and Bowie and Hendrix and the Beatles because I never know how to rank those, but a top 10 is probably something like:

  1. The Flaming Lips
  2. The Walkmen
  3. Ted Leo & the Pharmacists
  4. Guided By Voices
  5. Depeche Mode
  6. Led Zeppelin
  7. Nada Surf
  8. The Thermals
  9. Delta Spirit
  10. Spoon / Superchunk / Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin because I can't decide...

All of my non-video game OCs are stand alone and need developing. My video game OCs are my precious babs. Sadly I only have art for my Dragon Age one's but I also have characters from Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Dragon's Dogma, Divinity Original Sin, and Baldur's Gate. I hope to add them all someday. I'm a big fan of RPGs.(Thanks, hehe~.)

123penguin64 Since you like writing, what kind of stuff do you enjoy writing? Where do you get inspiration for your stories and your characters?

Ooh I see you have a horse and some other pets: do they sometimes inspire you to create or develop characters? Especially since some of your characters seem to be in a sort of medieval(-fantasy (?)) setting, so I personally think this could fit lmao

Not really. Sometimes I'll base the pets in my stories after my own pets, like one of my characters has a cat that hates them (kind of like how my cat hates me). One of my other characters has a horse who's really pushy and grumpy (kind of like my horse). But I don't really base characters off of my pets or anything like that. Knowing a lot about horses and horseback riding really helps with my fantasy stories though since that's usually the main mode of transportation.

By the way, since some of your characters seem to be very developed, for how long have you been working on them?

My characters in the "Story 1" folder are my oldest ones. They're from around 2007-2009, but around 2012 I kind of shelved the story to focus on some other stuff and I didn't really revisit it until 2016.

The characters in "Story 2" are from 2012-2013 or so, and the "Story 3" characters are around 2014-2015. The two characters that are unsorted are my newest ones. I made them at the end of last year, and while I mostly have them figured out, I feel like there's still some things that need work.

Also, since I'm French I can't help but: When and why have you started to learn French? What's your current level like, and are you still actively studying it or nah? Also, which parts of the language are the most difficult to learn in your opinion?

I used to live in Montreal, so learning French was pretty much mandatory, and I started learning it in Kindergarten. I moved to Vancouver about 13 years ago and no one speaks French out there, which is why I'm not really that good at speaking it anymore (For some context, I moved when I was going into grade 6 and we did like 1-2 hours of French per week and it was stuff that I had already learned in grade 1. I spoke better French than our teacher).

I still know enough to have a basic conversation, but every now and then I forget words that I used to know. I'm not actively studying it right now, but I've thought about maybe trying to relearn it with Duolingo or something. For me, I think the hardest part is conjugating all the different verbs. I sometimes get confused about which tense to use, and sometimes I get the verb endings mixed up.

(Please avoid asking questions like "Why are you into theology" or "What inspired you to do your projects" since I always get those in this thread :'D They are interesting questions but I'd like to say something new lmao)

Oh my these are interesting questions indeed... Thank you lmao

What kind of internet presence did you have before coming to TH?

I started to have a real "internet presence" in 2011, when I was 11 (I love my year of birth, it makes everything so practical...); I was mainly hanging out on (French ofc, I was still using Google Translate to understand English at that time) amateur game forums, especially Animal Crossing forums! I started to post my art for the friends I made there, it was mainly game fanart but I also already had some original projects (such as Flying Popcorn in 2012)!

I also created a DA account but I really started using it when the forums died, and I was better at English; I think it was around 2014. At that time I was super into The Binding of Isaac fandom and I started posting my (former) fan characters Michel, Gabriel and Raphaël there! But I ended up bored with the fandom and drama, so I left it haha... I also tried Tumblr but I didn't really get feedback there unless I was posting fanart with the right tags... So I only reblog stuff there now

In 2016, a mutual on DA was giving out some TH for free so here I am! At first, I didn't really know about the forums, so I just... Posted the images of my OCs with super short bios because I knew that no one was going to look besides me, my friends and the people I was commissioning art for. But since I started using the forums I feel the need to do the best bios possible lmao :')

Also, since a lot of your characters and storylines have a lot of themes considered pretty sensitive, do you ever worry people might misunderstand your intentions or you'll get negative attention because of it?

To be honest... I did. I did get negative attention from people misunderstanding my attentions. I know I ended on that "ToyhouseDrama" Tumblr blog some months ago; I got my OCs' bios and my messages on from the vent board taken out of context, people accusing my of all sort of stuff without asking me first, as well as some anon hate messages about my OCs on my CuriousCat at the same time. I also know that there are several people on here who have blocked me even though I've never interacted with them, and people on the blog were also encouraging others to do so.

And yeah, it hurts to see all these people... basically cyberbulling me over something like this. Especially knowing that they have ignored my warnings about this and that no one has come to tell me what was happening. If they wanted explanations, I could have given them.

But that's... kinda behind me now. (My friends and I even joke about this now, to give you an idea; and if this post ends up on the blog I'll laugh even more) I know you can't force everyone to like you, especially when you deal with sensitive themes. But I prefer doing what I like and sharing that with people who have a similar point of view (I have around 80 subs on TH, tysm guys if you are reading this), rather than censoring myself in order to please strangers.

Was it a deliberate choice for you to pick the themes you did or did it all just gradually come around on its own? AAA I guess what I mean is that is there any story behind why exactly you decided you want to portray and write these particular themes?

I've already said it in some previous posts in a different way, but to sum up: No, it wasn't a deliberate choice for me. Yup, there is a... complicated family history on why I've started to research theology, and on the other hand, I've started to get interested in history (and more particularly WWII) because that's what I was studying at school, haha.

But the big thing is (and oh my I'm sorry if I always say it or if it's sounds like an "excuse"), but I'm autistic. Asperger syndrome to be exact. And there's this thing about special interests/"fixations"; basically, theology and World War II are my special interests. That's why most of my work is related to it. And that's also why reading all these dozens of messages about me being an horrible person because of my unusual areas of interest hurt so much.

As a fellow non-native English speaker, do you prefer communicating with people in your own language or in English? Do you find yourself "advertising" yourself more to communities of your own country or are you more international?

I do both tbh! I can usually relate with French people the most when it comes to puns, social issues, humour, pop culture references... But the English-speaking community is more vast and diversified, and that's a blessing when you have restricted interests! But English is also an issue because I often have to explain stuff I wouldn't have to explain in French since I create my OCs and stories for me and my irl friends first, and they are often related to French history, culture and stuff lmao...

So, I try to do both, since I'm a bit more comfortable communicating in French but I get more feedback in English. I know not all French artists are like that but in my case it is! I usually post more in English in "small" communities like TH, DA, Tumblr, and in French on bigger websites like Twitter and Facebook!

Caine

I don't know if this is a super weird question to ask, but what kind of internet presence did you have before coming to TH? I understood you've at least been doing your projects way before that and I got the impression you have posted comic pages too?

Also, since a lot of your characters and storylines have a lot of themes considered pretty sensitive, do you ever worry people might misunderstand your intentions or you'll get negative attention because of it? Was it a deliberate choice for you to pick the themes you did or did it all just gradually come around on its own? AAA I guess what I mean is that is there any story behind why exactly you decided you want to portray and write these particular themes?

Bonus: As a fellow non-native English speaker, do you prefer communicating with people in your own language or in English? Do you find yourself "advertising" yourself more to communities of your own country or are you more international? I'm asking this mostly because I know at least with a lot of Finnish artists they tend to prefer staying within their own culture and language circles, like I know a lot of Finnish artists who straight up never even post in English (whereas with me I feel like some people might not even realize I'm a Finn bc I don't inhabit Finnish art circles much at all)

Seeing as you are both an artist and a writer, what’s your favourite mood to portray?

I LOVE everything that has to do with positive feelings, really! I thrive when I get to write about found families, friends supporting each other and strangers coming together in order to defeat a shared obstacle. I used to be really into violence and angst when I was younger (but I swear for once it wasn't the edgy type, I was just really curious about the topics) and enjoyed putting characters in difficult situations and I still do enjoy the challenge of doing that, but at he end of the day I want my characters to find happiness, or at least closure. I think it has a lot to do with the fact I have struggled with mental health for very long, and leaning more towards positive emotions reminds me there is so much good in this world and us humans can do amazing things!

Do you do fanfictions/fanart?

I used to write some fanfics in Finnish when I was 14, but I never got into the fanfic scene as a whole, and don't really even read them, like, ever. The only exception I'm willing to make is for Hamlet because one day I'll unleash all my Hamlet fanfiction and then everyone will be super ashamed to have known me but they can't stop me anymore. I occasionally draw fanart, but I usually just don't find it as much fun as OCs + all my fandoms are basically from the 70s so it's not like my fanart even gets much attention anyway.

Who is your favourite character to write?

I love writing ALL my ocs basically, but to name someone I really do enjoy writing Nicholas! I think it has a lot to do with the fact he is very direct and blunt and just generally a complete opposite of me in social situations, and so writing him and ultimately "acting" in his role is super fulfilling because I get to express and experience things I wouldn't normally do, if that makes sense? He is also one of my emotionally most volatile characters in a way he is so full of all sort of feelings and he has a very bad control of them, so a lot of the time especially the negative ones he tries to bottle up and up bursting out in one go.

Who’s your favourite to draw?

I think it's a tie between Claude and Cyrus based on how much art I have drawn of them. I absolutely LOVE Claude's eyes and I'm so glad I decided to give him sanpaku eyes and heavy eyelashes because they're such a joy to draw, and in urn with Cyrus his hair is so fluffy and soft it's always fun for me + his expressions are fun too. They both also have the aesthetic that allows me to draw them in super detailed and frilly lace clothes >:3c

How did you learn to draw?

Like most children I liked drawing as a way to pass time and to channel my imagination into something! I had a cousin who was into drawing (we fell out of contact entirely when I was 6 though) and my aunt was also a really skilled hobbyist artist, so it felt really natural for me to do that too! Sadly my aunt stopped drawing at one point so I was never able to get anyone to actually teach me drawing, and so I just. started teaching myself.

I learned bout art communities online when I was 12 and started posting stuff online when I was closing to 13, and that's what I count as the time I stopped doing the kind of doodling most kids do, and where I consciously made art my hobby and I got ambitious about it & learned there are communities and other artists out there.

When did you start writing?

Again, I think most kids enjoy writing, and I was no exception. However, I stopped writing original fiction at the age of 13 when we were no longer allowed to do it at school, and only did a couple of Finnish fanfics at the age of 14. I started roleplaying when I was turning 16, and started writing drabbles and oneshots at the age of 18, which was in 2013. So I guess 2013 is what I consider my real starting year, and from 2014 onwards I have been working on and off between projects, starting a lot but finishing almost nothing but oneshots. So, really, I think I'm still somewhat of a newbie, especially since English isn't my native language

Seeing as you are both an artist and a writer, what’s your favourite mood to portray? Do you do fanfictions/fanart? Who is your favourite character to write? Who’s your favourite to draw? How did you learn to draw? When did you start writing?

That’s a lot of questions but I’m curious.

For the record I just can’t draw so that’s why I have so many adoptables. Like, the only one in my Not for Sale folder that wasn’t adopted was Marion and his art looks b a d.

Humans, specifically male ones. It’s not for a sexist reason though. I just don’t normally find good male adopts, so when I do (or I find an artist who has good art and does customs) I’ll be pretty quick to adopt those. I still get female characters because I use them too. I could actually get a few more female characters. I like to adopt undeveloped ones, but if they aren’t developed much, I’ll still probably go for it.

All the characters in my Not for Sale folder go to a single story. All of them have a use. The story is called Development and it’s all about developing characters, the world, their personalities, everything.

I totally have a favourite person to adopt from. The designs are cheap and cute. I adopted Yin, Yang, Taylor, Saffron, Pumpkin, Rain, Francois and a few others from them. Karma-chara-adopts.deviantart.com
