Answer to a question from the user above

Posted 5 years, 11 months ago (Edited 5 years, 8 months ago) by Caine

Similarly to "answer to the question from the oc above", the idea of this game is to answer to something the user above you asks! I was debating whether to name the thread this or "ask a question to the user below" and got a headache trying to decide which one, but really they are the same thing!

This is not an OC game: this is for users to ask things from other users, similarly to "ask a question to the user above you" but in reverse. Hopefully it'll be a fun way to learn more about the users here & get a chance to talk about something you like!

Rules:

  1. Make sure to claim first! This way you'll avoid getting ninjad by someone faster than you
  2. Your answer can be as long or short as you wish to make it to be! Just use the spoiler marker if you end up writing a lot or including lot of images
  3. Wait for at least 3 people to post after you before claiming again! If 12 hours pass, anyone can reply and/or post a new answer
  4. Keep your questions vague enough that people will have something to answer to them!
Don't ask:
  • any super personal questions, like full name or home town
  • questions of morals such as "what would you do if...". While these can be fun, they can really easily get under people's skin and cause stir and drama, and we're here to have a good time and not fight
  • anything that could be considered even vaguely NSFW or sexual in nature
  • idk just keep it civil and not weird or creepy and you'll be fine

If I see someone asking for too personal things or being rude or behaving strangely I'll privately message them to fix their message. Feel free to also DM me if you see strange or rule-breaking behavior!

Question examples:

Here are some things to maybe give ideas to what kind of things to ask! Feel free to use these or do your own thing, as long as it's following the rules

  • INTERESTS: Favourite movie/book/anything? Hobbies? Strange trivia you know?
  • CHARACTERS: Your most expensive character?
  • CREATIVE: Are you more of an artist or a writer? Your creative influences?
  • STORYTIME: Funniest elementary school memory? Has anything strange ever happened to you?

If the thread has been stuck for +12 hours anyone is free to answer and ask a new question!

For the first person posting:

What kind of music do you like?

AlleycatIrony

i actually found mine thru OCs!

so a long long time ago, an aquaintence who i met thru the fantroll community sent me a heap of kpop songs but i didn't really care for kpop so i do admit i didn't listen to any of them but i did at least listen to the one that they said was their favourite - beautiful liar by two guys from a larger group called VIXX - i liked it, but didn't think much of it and kind of forgot about it

then i was looking for a faceclaim/face insp for rahart years ago and stumbled across a lad called lee jaehwan, who i was ecstatic to say looked EXACTLY like how i imagined rahart to
then i noticed tags saying he was from VIXX and i was like 'oh... that sounds awfully familiar' and recalled the name from that one song i listened to
since i was a little more interested now, i listened to a heap of their songs and now i've been a big fan for like... four-five years now!

i've also gotten into mother mother thanks to my bf who played their songs nonstop out loud, and i must say that was a more simpler way to get into a group

what's ur preferred way of doing art? digital, traditional, other? and what programs/mediums do u use to create it?

AbstractMayor

I really like digital! Although I do doodle a lot traditionally, I prefer to do all my finished works digitally owo I've always liked mspaint because it's simple and it works on my almost broken computer-- I also have ibisPaint X which is a program I have on my phone

Do you like listening to calming music while drawing or upbeat/louder music while drawing? Is there a certain band/genre you listen to?

Roheryn

It depends entirely on what I'm drawing!

I will listen to anything from LotR music (Clamavi de Profundis being my favourite group for those songs), to a country radio or playlist. For simpler, less detailed things, I tend to toss on more upbeat music than if I'm planning on taking a long while on a piece though.

Are there any personality traits which you find many or most of your characters have?

Caine

I feel like most of my characters are at least somewhat outspoken, at least enough to stand up for themselves? Of course there is a lot of variance and some characters let things slide easier than others, but I don't think any of my currently uploaded ones would like let someone completely and constantly walk over them, except maybe Njal. I guess it might have something to do with the fact I was heavily bullied almost my entire preschool and I let things slide a lot because I didn't want to cause trouble or drama, and so I want my characters to at least act a bit wiser than I did, I guess.

When you design characters or buy character designs, do you have any sort of priorities regarding them? Like "they have to be easy to draw for me/commissioned person" or "they have to have a lot of little details" or something along those lines?

Purplesplash

For me, I get cats, because that the only thing that I can draw. Also, I tend to stick to more natural colors for cats, rather than bright popping colors.

Do you like writing characters that are like you, or characters that have nothing in common with you? Why?

It's been over 12 hours! I don't have a dream job (unless it counts as a job to make money from art commissions/writing/ARPG stuff). I probably did have dream jobs when I was little, like most kids do.

Are there any animals you find cute that aren't normally considered cute? (Spiders, snakes, lobsters, wasps, etc. just to name examples?)

ophanimkei

Snakes! And spiders, but more specifically snakes. I want an ESA and my animal of choice would be a snake. I like spiders too because of their eyes <33 they're so cute, and they have so many!

What're your favorite shows and books? And why?

12 hours passed but I think i might still fit the prompt! Hang on while I type it out

Ok so I kind of like horror? (not extreme horror since i'm kind of struggling with sleep lol) But I can't exactly see myself writing a horror story or at least a story where horror plays a major part. The reasoning is that I sincerely can't figure out just how to make my stuff be that scary, since all my characters just look cutesy lmaoo-

Same goes with romance as well, I kind of like it as more of a background element if anything to be honest.

In the meantime, do you like writing the hero or the villain of the story more?

manyface

villain definitely hahaha

i get to make SUPER raw lines and impress my friends. also everyone always finds the villains hot and i like having that power over my friends/rp partners

how has ur art changed over the years?
