Answer to a question from the user above

Posted 5 years, 11 months ago (Edited 5 years, 8 months ago) by Caine

Similarly to "answer to the question from the oc above", the idea of this game is to answer to something the user above you asks! I was debating whether to name the thread this or "ask a question to the user below" and got a headache trying to decide which one, but really they are the same thing!

This is not an OC game: this is for users to ask things from other users, similarly to "ask a question to the user above you" but in reverse. Hopefully it'll be a fun way to learn more about the users here & get a chance to talk about something you like!

Rules:

  1. Make sure to claim first! This way you'll avoid getting ninjad by someone faster than you
  2. Your answer can be as long or short as you wish to make it to be! Just use the spoiler marker if you end up writing a lot or including lot of images
  3. Wait for at least 3 people to post after you before claiming again! If 12 hours pass, anyone can reply and/or post a new answer
  4. Keep your questions vague enough that people will have something to answer to them!
Don't ask:
  • any super personal questions, like full name or home town
  • questions of morals such as "what would you do if...". While these can be fun, they can really easily get under people's skin and cause stir and drama, and we're here to have a good time and not fight
  • anything that could be considered even vaguely NSFW or sexual in nature
  • idk just keep it civil and not weird or creepy and you'll be fine

If I see someone asking for too personal things or being rude or behaving strangely I'll privately message them to fix their message. Feel free to also DM me if you see strange or rule-breaking behavior!

Question examples:

Here are some things to maybe give ideas to what kind of things to ask! Feel free to use these or do your own thing, as long as it's following the rules

  • INTERESTS: Favourite movie/book/anything? Hobbies? Strange trivia you know?
  • CHARACTERS: Your most expensive character?
  • CREATIVE: Are you more of an artist or a writer? Your creative influences?
  • STORYTIME: Funniest elementary school memory? Has anything strange ever happened to you?

If the thread has been stuck for +12 hours anyone is free to answer and ask a new question!

For the first person posting:

What kind of music do you like?

I guess I lean more towards sitcoms than stand-up, at least! But I feel like I'm not a person who is super good with humor, or it's more like... I only do well in the humor of harmless exaggerations and dramatic flair and sometimes lying but in a way everyone knows it? Like sometimes I might say things like "man I can't believe my wife and three kids left me for my excessive love for vintage shoujo" or "I have 5 younger siblings to feed" or sth dumb like that. I also have a soft spot for just generally well timed humor like in Brooklyn 99 or Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun where the funny usually comes from someone doing something strange and others reacting to it very strongly and in a harmless way. I'm not a big fan of "offensive" type of humor bc most of the time it isn't even funny and is just an excuse for the person to be racist/homophobic/whatever

As a creator, do you feel like you have a specific genre you gear towards to? If yes, what is it? And if no, do you have themes or something else you find to be reoccurring in your content in a way or another?

I've noticed with just about all my characters there's this double-side I have to them. Like they act one way then another - Cameron's kindness than sadistic side; Smiley with and without his mask; Ken as a pop star and normally; Nicolas at school and at home. That's not even limited to personalities, it can be with looks too, like with Terry normally and when he cleans up, or Nikolai and his Full form. It's pretty interesting, having noticed this.

Tell me about a character you've recently made big changes too. What were those changes? What made you want to change them? Are you happy with where they are now?

I went to the library to write! It's something I really love doing and now after medical treatment going outside and actually doing things no longer hurts like it used to, so I was super super happy to finally work there in peace. Libraries are some of my fave places in the world and I love the atmosphere in them. I feel so productive when the people around me are also working or reading or studying, which is why I can't wait until the uni library opens again and I get to spend days there

What is your favourite fairy tale, and why?

circlejourney

Without a doubt, it's The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde. It's a sad story with some subtle social commentary, and I just think it builds such a beautiful world and scenario for such a short story. Plus it's set in the early 1800s, which is a period I'm quite fond of.

Have you ever had an original idea (e.g. a character concept/arc, a plot, a world concept), that you later found out some famous book/show/game/other media had already done? What was it?

well in my fantasy AU, i designed daovia and lahoré to be these kind of avian women w/ wings on their heads w/ bird feet, sleek bodies, and the like years ago only to find out a character on devilman looked EXACTLY THE SAME (nsfw for tiddies in link) i was kinda pissed but i'm still keeping their designs like that 😅 i mean they're still unique bc they're a secretive species that always wears bird masks and rarely is seen on the forest floor so there's that i guess

i mean idk how unique it was technically speaking but i thought i did a good job designing them rip ;w;

Drawing supplies for sure; I can entertain myself for hours to end with just a sketchbook and a pen, and I'm totally gonna pretend I'll also have a lifetime of supplies of these somehow. Also some sort of solar energy powered radio so I could have some sort of music and a vague connection to the outside world and uhhh honestly I can't even think of a third item for some reason? Maybe like playing cards to occupy myself with?

What is your favourite piece of random trivia you know? How did you learn it?

well, by all accounts its an apple, right? like, thats how its always been portrayed so i never really questioned it. but, if i had to call any fruit forbidden and tempting, itd be a peach or nectarine. those are so damn good, much better than apples

how did u meet ur best friend?

Caine

I feel like it's probably time for a new question! Personally I actually don't have a best friend, but I met some of my closest friends through Star Stealing Prince fandom! I added all these people who didn't know of each other into a group chat so we could yell about the new webnovel chapters, and we ended up becoming a really tight knit friend group! ; o ; < 3

Which one do you personally find easier: writing characters or drawing them?

colorful

I'm more of an artist, but it actually depends on my mood? Sometimes, I prefer writing over drawing, and vice versa. They're like my two biggest passions and mostly my ways of coping up/venting, so I can't really say that I'm greater at one. My skills on them are both moderate and equal-- I tend to treat drawing like how I treat essays (with all the outlining and buildup) because drawing and writing seems practically the same for me in a way I couldn't really tell with my highschool school vocab topkek

Though I just took an art course because the writing course seems insane HAHA

Are you better collaborating with people (such as shipping OCs with others) or work in solo?
