Answer to a question from the user above

Posted 5 years, 11 months ago (Edited 5 years, 8 months ago) by Caine

Similarly to "answer to the question from the oc above", the idea of this game is to answer to something the user above you asks! I was debating whether to name the thread this or "ask a question to the user below" and got a headache trying to decide which one, but really they are the same thing!

This is not an OC game: this is for users to ask things from other users, similarly to "ask a question to the user above you" but in reverse. Hopefully it'll be a fun way to learn more about the users here & get a chance to talk about something you like!

Rules:

  1. Make sure to claim first! This way you'll avoid getting ninjad by someone faster than you
  2. Your answer can be as long or short as you wish to make it to be! Just use the spoiler marker if you end up writing a lot or including lot of images
  3. Wait for at least 3 people to post after you before claiming again! If 12 hours pass, anyone can reply and/or post a new answer
  4. Keep your questions vague enough that people will have something to answer to them!
Don't ask:
  • any super personal questions, like full name or home town
  • questions of morals such as "what would you do if...". While these can be fun, they can really easily get under people's skin and cause stir and drama, and we're here to have a good time and not fight
  • anything that could be considered even vaguely NSFW or sexual in nature
  • idk just keep it civil and not weird or creepy and you'll be fine

If I see someone asking for too personal things or being rude or behaving strangely I'll privately message them to fix their message. Feel free to also DM me if you see strange or rule-breaking behavior!

Question examples:

Here are some things to maybe give ideas to what kind of things to ask! Feel free to use these or do your own thing, as long as it's following the rules

  • INTERESTS: Favourite movie/book/anything? Hobbies? Strange trivia you know?
  • CHARACTERS: Your most expensive character?
  • CREATIVE: Are you more of an artist or a writer? Your creative influences?
  • STORYTIME: Funniest elementary school memory? Has anything strange ever happened to you?

If the thread has been stuck for +12 hours anyone is free to answer and ask a new question!

For the first person posting:

What kind of music do you like?

Parkour is like that for me too! I used to be pretty rowdy as a kid and constantly pulled weird and dangerous stunts but nowadays I have gotten old and vain and don't really want to put myself into a situation where I might hurt myself so bad I could never draw again. I'm also super interested in ballet but I know I'm physically too ill to endure such a demanding sport + I'd most likely be the only guy of the group anyway and that's always a little awkward and makes choreographing for shows usually harder lol

What kind of hobbies did you have as a child, if any? Are you still doing them? Did you get new hobbies as you got older? (feel free to interpret hobby as you wish)

RadiantRaindragon

I don't know if I really had any 'hobbies' as a child that I don't have anymore (I used to draw, write, play videogames, and do computer things back then, and I still do now). I did used to draw comics occasionally, which I don't really do anymore, because I'm far too lazy and unmotivated to draw the same characters over and over again in a comic page (though I kinda want to). I also used to collect things as a kid - especially plastic toy dinosaurs and little die-cast cars. I had a pretty big collection of both of those at one point.

Question: Do you collect anything, or used to?

I’m slowly getting prouder of my own writing; I’m actuslly starting to think I’m improving! I’m also kind of proud of some art pieces but I kind of don’t wanna surf through my art tab to get them haha. I also am proud of certain character designs, as weird as that may sound...?

I kind of like the fact that ideas can come somewhat easily to me. Anymore would just sound like gushing about myself idk rip

To the person below: What’s your favorite type of character to write about?

AlleycatIrony

my favourite characters are always ones that are snarky, flirtatious, bratty, got lots of walls up, impolite to strangers, but underneath all that frustrating and hard exterior is a heart of gold and they're total lovable sweethearts!
i also really like writing shy, anxious boys that also have a bit of snark to them/can be a bitchy once u get to know them better

i guess it's bc i find them super fun to write and i'm also drawn to those characters if they're owned by someone else (typically get an insta-fave lmao)

a simple question: do you have any pets? tell me about them!

manyface

aww, i dont have any pets, but when i go to uni this fall, i really wanna get 2 pet rats!

what's your favorite thing about yourself? trying to inspire some positivity here

-bluejay-

My favorite thing about myself is probably my ability to get along with people who have differing opinions from me.

Also I like my freckles :0

If you had to choose between running into a great white shark or a hungry lion in the wild, which would you choose and why? Do you think you'd be able to escape from it unscathed?

Caine

I think the shark, because a hungry lion knows where it's at whereas sharks generally don't want trouble with us weird predators and are usually more curious than hostile? So I feel like running into a shark minding their own business vs a lion who has all the intentions to kill the shark is a much safer choice with a bigger chance of survival

Do you prefer to draw commissions or buy commissions?

hedgemaze

I've never liked taking commissions-- I always prefer to gift art or to trade it, because that's fun for me; commissions aren't. I take them sometimes, but it'll never be something I enjoy doing. I don't feel confident in my consistency since my health can be pretty bad and unpredictable, so it stresses me out more than anything else. Plus, I haven't taken commissions on TH yet, but on Reddit, Tumblr, and Twitter I was known for sports (and sometimes video game) fanart, so people only wanted to commission me for that, and I won't take money for someone else's IP, so I always did those in exchange for donations to charity. I'm proud of the money we raised for various charities, but it's not something I can do all the time.

I like commissioning people when I can, though. It's always amazing to see your characters in someone else's hand, and I like to support other artists when I am able to.

What's something fun or exciting that's recently happened to you, and/or something you're looking forward to?

ophanimkei

I'm hanging with my friends this weekend for my birthday! And letter I'm celebrating with my family!

Do you enjoy any games?? Or have a favorite genre?

Koroner

I really enjoy drawing teeth/fangs and variations of body horror! Or just characters or creatures with odd maws or teeth that may or may not actually make a whole lot of sense–but strange teeth and jowls are super enjoyable and relaxing to draw! For me, at least haha. I don't typically enjoy drawing very cutesy things, so horror's my niche and I love being able to draw semi-impractical but spooky and creepy things.

Who or what's your oldest character (one you've had the longest), and what originally inspired them?

Hogarth

Oldest character is a tie between Hugo and two characters that don't have a profile yet, they were all made around the same time so it's hard for me to remember :o Design wise, i just made a lil sketch of a lil shadow man and gave him a big ol heart on his chest and it stuck since then c: Personality wise, I based him on me, since he represents my heart and my feelings. He's helped me become me aha

What's you're biggest inspiration? How has it inspired you, creativity wise?

wolfwantsred

It's a mix of fairies and horror (though sometimes the two go together, I know). Reading about new creatures or just spooky stories gets me pumped to draw or write, and in the past year I've made more characters than I have in while just from researching myths.

Who's the character you're most attached to and why?
