Why does your character, Hypno, have a collar/necklace; and how valuable is it to the design?

He happens to be buff because he's constantly working out! He will practically work out until he drops. He wears a mask because he has a nasty scar on his right cheek. Also, it protects his identity on dangerous jobs.

Why does he wear a mask? Also, how did he get so buff?

Keshet was forced to dye his hair red in order to become a high ranking member in the Church of Fire.. He dyed it a bright shade of pink because he thought it was better than boring red, and he enjoys standing out! Also, it's a color that gives him really good memories,

He wears a clown outfit because Keshet's fond of clowns and likes to make kids happy. He worked in a circus, and his favorite act was done by a clown who was very nice to him. It was a fond memory, so he wants to spread that happiness to other kids~ Also, the makeup helps him hide his scars an other skin abnormalities! I gave him thick boots because I enjoy drawing them. A lot of my characters have thick shoes though I exaggerate Keshet's a bit more because he's a clown.

Is there a specific reason they have bright pink hair and wear a clown outfit, also is there a reason they wear those thick heels/boots ?

It's kinda hard for me to pick which form I like more, I think I'd have to pick her anthro form because I love her hair and claws and the outfits I've made for her, plus she has more of a story/personality in her anthro form, like her being a guitarist and having a "real life" , I guess. Her goat form is more cutesy and fun, but has no significant meaning, it kinda just exists because it's cute and part of her species, celtic. As her original/first design was her anthro one. Although I like her anthro form more, I definitely default to drawing her goat form more because it is a LOT easier for me to draw as are most feral characters (cause anatomy sucks), plus I don't have to draw her guitar or outfits+accessories ! My inspiration for her was a Blue Opal (the stuff her horns and claws were made of) because I'm an admin in a DA Closed Species group, with Roxy being a celtic MYO. Then for the purple and tan, I just picked colors that looked similar to the gem I was referencing, as it had some light tans and dark purples and winged it from there. I think that besides her claws and horns, the gem is best represented in her long purple hair w/ the blue stripe running through it cause I wanted it to look like the gem where there were bits of bright blue in little places all in the stone.

Since Roxy has multiple forms, which one is your favourite, and which one do you find the easiest to draw? Did you have a specific theme in mind when you were designing her, and if yes, how do you think it shows the best in her design?

Also, if you had to add one more item to her reference sheet that would reflect her character, what would it be? 

Yep, they're twigs! He wears them to imitate his vetehi parents' horns as mermaids don't have any horns whatsoever and Camelia is adopted (or really, kidnapped). His hair was cut when he was found in human form, mostly because it was so unkempt but also because the servants thought that since he's a man he should have a more masculine haircut :''') He didn't mind though

The bead things are sort of like.... whiskers with bead-like growth in them? They're natural for him and are mostly just a decoration (sort of like how some animals are pretty for mating purposes) but they do help him sense things better with his tail 

So those are twigs, not horns? Why does he wear them? Does his hair shorten in his human form or did he cut it? Lastly, are those beads (like piercings) on his tail fin or frills? (Either way he's really pretty!)

I chose Purée because she's my baby, but if the next person isn't comfortable with her I have Ether.

That's more for the artwork, lol. She does tend to wear very little clothes though. The tattoo is because I wanted her to have something menhera always on her, and because I love pink. And thank you about Ether! Her horns are based on my full zodiac! A set of horns for each (capricorn/taurus/capricorn).

You mentioned that her hair is dyed, so, what colour was it originally? And is there any particular reason she decided to dye it?

As she's immortal, does that mean she's stopped aging physically and is stuck appearing the same age forever?

The bandages are actually part of an old design thing he had, which I scrapped recently - he's had a lot of updates and I haven't had time to make new art of him just yet. (They were originally meant to cover an old wound that was cursed to never heal properly, but why I drew the bandages about his sleeve instead of under it... I have no idea.)

Yeah, it's a sort of long knitted sweater thing with a shirt underneath. The city he lives in has a colder climate, so he usually wears several layers.

Originally, as a child, he looked like his mother. However, growing older, he started to gradually develop more physical characteristics of his father, who was a demon and whose genetics ended up corrupting Colin (despite him appearing to be a normal human at birth). By his early teens he resembled a demon and had lost most of his original appearance, making him look like his father.

Why does Colin have a bandage above his shirt? Talking about the shirt, is it just a sweater with a striped long sleeve shirt under it or is it a regular shirt? (Also, how close does Colin look like his mother/father?)

Zachary got his goggle from Marie as a gift! They were originally owned by Marie's father, but she felt like she didn't put them to good use. Zachary reluctantly accepts the goggles since it's technically a family heirloom, but he finds it useful for missions that require him to go outdoors (as well as concealing his emotions). Aesthetic-wise, Merula would buy them if he never got them, as these goggles are considered vintage-like at the time (since these were the goggles that the Tellran Defense Force years ago before they changed the uniforms)

Where did Zachary get his goggles and why? Did he get them from someone, or did he just find them and kinda just go: 'these are cool im gonna get them'?

Nope, it is not~ His natural color is a more dark-brown color.
He dyed his hair out of pure boredom one day. When it looked pretty okay considering he never dyed his hair before [and after his parents freaked out a bit], he began to experiment with dying, and eventually learned how to turn it into a gradient. [He does get lazy sometimes and just dyes it one color rather than the gradient.]

Is Tyberion's hair naturally rainbow?

Edit: That's... a very good question that I'm gonna have to think about! I'm not 100% sure eactly why they're neon. His bones are the same color too!

Why does Courage have fluorescent-yellow teeth?  Does he drink hilighter fluid? Is he radioactive?  Are they implants/dentures? If so, why pick that color? If not, are all of his bones that color?

The whole aspect of cosmetics to hide his scars is not something I actually see all that often, so I'm really curious to know what gave you the idea for that?

When I first made lorant, he was a ghost(who killed himself specifically to see if ghosts were real), and I was just real into that black butler victorian-gothic look & thought the eyepatch would make him look edgier(& the backstory behind his missing eye was that he pulled it out himself because he just, hated how bright they were).  Over time both I & he became less blatant edgelords; he turned out to be more of a prep than a goth; I thought a prosthetic would be more fitting than an eyepatch.  

And he's always been very particular about his appearance, makeup just seemed like a natural next step tbh,,

Also I might have just missed it, but why is his prosthetic eye different colour from his original eye colour?

I'm not sure if I actually listed a reason lmao But A) if you had the option to give yourself heterochromia why wouldn't you and B) Although it's no longer bad enough to drive him to self harm, he still doesn't like how bright a blue his actual eyes are.  Now that I think on it he might have prefered grey for an eye color but I went w/ brown cuz  brown/blue is the most natural-looking heterochromia and his aesthetic is more 'odd but believably natural' than it is overtly fake :O

I have always been really fascinated with Lorant's design! The whole aspect of cosmetics to hide his scars is not something I actually see all that often, so I'm really curious to know what gave you the idea for that? Also I might have just missed it, but why is his prosthetic eye different colour from his original eye colour?

Since Ilja and Claude are related, are there any design elements you specifically picked to make them look similar?

I designed Ilja first and Claude only then, and I admit I originally didn't intend them to be relatives! It was only during the Claude designing part where I realized he has similar eyes to Ilja and realized them being related would actually make perfect sense and create totally new connections. After that I thin Claude's hair color got lighter to resemble Ilja's hair more, as Claude's original color was closer to red than light blond. 

But tl;dr they both have narrowed eyes with sanpaku eyes, angular face shape and similar, small and lithe build with a somewhat androgynous appearance. llja's build gets stronger than Claude's though because of exercise 

Do you prefer Ilja's sweater design or coat design, both to draw and just in general? And tell me about the hat. It is a really cool hat and it looks like he kept it even after changing his wardrobe, is there anything special about it? Or is it just a very fancy hat?

I actually prefer the sweater since it's easier and aesthetically more pleasing for me to draw haha. I like to think it's something he took from home with him and it reminds him so strongly of home he wears it no matter what. I also like to keep it as a way to show contrast between how he was at first upon moving vs how he later becomes like: originally his hat helps him hide his face and hide the fact he isn't really even brushing his hair properly, whereas later he wears it almost like a crown to show he's the boss, haha

Why does the colour of her glass eye not match her natural eye colour?

I actually designed them ages ago, and to be honest, I'm not sure what I was going for. I think the half-coloured face thing is because it looks fittingly odd for a weirdo kitty, but then I just botched the tortoise shell for the rest.
