What is the person above's trademark?

(Related threads: What are your trademark character archetypes, What Do You Like About The Above User's OCs?, ☀️ Say something nice about above user's art)

I often find that a lot of people have themes and signature elements across all their creations that make them identifiable as theirs. There are a few threads around where we get to talk about our own trademarks, but I think it'd also be cool to find out what makes your creations unique and recognisable to other people. You might even learn something you never noticed about your own work!

How to participate: Look through the person above's OCs and works, and tell them what you think their trademark is. How can you always tell that an OC/art/writing was created by them? What stands out about their work that makes it recognisable as theirs, and no one else's?

  • Themes and tropes that they're fond of?
  • Personality types and physical traits that a lot of their OCs share?
  • A recognisable art style?

More detail is always appreciated. You can talk about designs, art style, writing style, and even all of those at once!

Rules:

  • Focus on OC profiles, art, literature and designs. Less focus on details that haven't got much to do with their creative work, e.g. their online identity, icon, profile themes (unless they made them themselves), and posting habits.
  • You can still mention these, of course—just say something about the user's creations first.
  • This is a compliment thread so please be kind and don't take this as an opportunity to diss people!

A very recognizable, absolutely the biggest trademark about you from whether you're viewing your character profiles or art are the eyes. It's very Tim Burton-esque and I'm in love. I definitley won't forget your art style as I can't think of any other artists here that draw that way.

I also recognize your character profiles by their simplicity.

Though i'm not too familiar/havent spoken to you before your organization/characters come off as very whimsical! I enjoy the detail put into decorating your pages and toyhouse in general to make them custom to each character. The same care and detail comes into their profiles too; which is always nice to see haha. On face value, that lovely frame you use to profile your characters is a quick recognizer! I find that so many that people use comes across as a signature for them and it suits the theme of your characters well. I also find your art style really unique and recognizable, as it has this really interesting sketchy-but-clean style to it and I really love your use of colors. You also have a lot of really cool concepts that seem to blend the line between high fantasy and futuristic and its interesting to see someone willing to touch on both extremes!

Alright, this may be my first time seeing your works but from my quick observation:

  • You have a really smooth and soft way of linearting! There's no signs of it being messy either, almost like a very smooth paintbrush that you see on digital canvas. It's always nice to see more softer linearts, it makes your art have this much fluid personality(?) to it, imo.
  • You coloring is not too bold, but not too muted/pale either! I think there's a perfect balance of that, it fits your soft-looking style a lot and overall, pleasing to look at.
  • Your forte is definitely drawing ferals! One thing I must say though, the usage of their colors are what stands out the most about their designs. You kept the designs for your ferals in a quite simple way but they're still recognizable as yours for many reasons. This does apply to your art for your humans too, but I'm pointing out the ferals one since I'm seeing them more in your gallery.
  • Now the profiles, I noticed that you're really into adoptables, I appreciate that you linked to their worlds (which is very good and you don't have to google just to know a certain species/lore) and stories, as well as other details regarding where you bought them, their original prices and such. I also notice the "extended" tab you put for your characters stating their good and bad points and such--overall, your profiles are very informative and simple, and have some details that I never knew I really like (or need) in a character's profiles! (Also not really a "trademark" but props to you for sorting and putting that many profiles for your huge amount of owned characters.)
I definitely enjoyed looking through your wonderful characters and art, thanks for giving me the opportunity to see them :>

I don't think it's surprising to hear that your art appears very anime influenced. You're colouring and shading style is very clean, with bright, strong colours that really stand out. The designs feel very angular and dynamic, with each character having a distinctive look that suits their themes really well. Writing wise the themes that really stuck out to me were the ideas of grief, luck and the idea of hiding behind a different personality which is really interesting and plays really well off the energetic designs! I love the sense of mystery and greater mythology your story has to it and your characters all have a very strong charm to them so it was a lot of fun reading through their bios!

Your #1 trademark? That dang pigeon lololol. Your name and icon just slam me in the face everytime I see you. XD

As for other things, I think your art trademark with me is how you draw mouths, especially side-smiles. Very simple yet cute.

It would be difficult to describe your trademark without mentioning Catband! Most of your active characters are from this project so they are convey this NYC vibe/aesthetic, even they are all distinct from each other. At least that how if perceive it as an outsider! Therefore I would say that your trademark lies in the realism of your characters: not only they all have complex personalities and stories that make them feel real, but they also mostly are regular people you could meet in the street. Each one has their own balanced qualities, flaws and struggles. Even your supernatural characters like the Freaks seem to live a pretty normal life. You also use a ton of real-life references like actual places in NYC, events and musical artists! Speaking of music, it obviously plays a big role too. Of course not everyone is tied to music is some way but iirc most of your "mains" are.

Art-wise, I'd say that your style is... a mix of cartoony and realistic style! You render different face shapes and body types very well, but your style still feels fun and easy on the eye! I also heavily associate you with black, thick lines. c:

As a lot have said, the religious theme of your ocs seems to be the main trademark, but I'd say the art style most of them are in is another one! I think that you have a very unique oc set and that many bits of it are trademark-ish in their own rights!

Sleepy-Thunder

I see your main trademark is your character profiles. They all look similiar and possibly done on the same base? It's omething I will immediatley recognize and/or remember.

Let's see... Your characters are mostly (regular) humans or demons! You have a pretty dark and mature aesthetic, both art-wise (ie. your use of muted colours, black shadows, realistic adult faces...) and bio-wise ( your OCs' bios often deal with adult/darker themes such as cannibalism, death, economic depression, street gangs, etc.)! Your characters seem very detailed, especially the ones in your "Main" folder. They have long backstories, and you specify some details that aren't seen that often here on TH, like their dominant hand, complete birth date, religious affiliations, and eyesight! Seriously, I think it's the first time I see OCs with canon, specific eyesights. It's very interesting in my opinion, and shows that you must spend a lot of time thinking about every little detail!

I know you've been consistently told that your trademark includes religious themes and pastel colours, so I'll take that as a known fact. I think what really stood out about your OC style for me, from the very first, was how you have these slice-of-lifey, contemporary takes on historical, mythological and religious figures. It seems as if all your characters exist in universes that directly adapt their original tales into stories that parallel the originals, but far more closely resemble our lives. e.g. Jesus is a rebellious preteen who formed a club of thirteen.

As for the art: on top of the pastel colours and thick coloured lines, you have a very distinctive way of drawing eyes. It's not just that they're big and round: they're usually two-tone and if they have pupils, they're drawn in white rather than black. It also shows a really strong Touhou influence; I'm ngl, I'm so much more familiar with your art style than Touhou's that whenever I look at Touhou art I think "oh that looks like the art of TH user Judas-la-Carotte".

Your trademarks are the characters you send in gift threads and by your highly recognizable Spyro icon.
