Dolores coughed into her sleeve before looking over at the other party with... A resigned expression on her face? Like this wasn't the first time she had done this. Too many times, actually. However, after a few seconds, she just shook her head and gazed off to the side. Clutching the collar of her coat close to her, she murmured some incomprehensible words under her breath before glancing back, uneasiness still present in her expression. Might as well get it done with... There's no use avoiding the question. Dolores.
"Well," the elder responded with a volume so low that one probably had to strain their ears to comprehend what she was saying, "I would just go along with what the other party wants. My livelihood is probably at stake if I'm working for them, anyways. I've learned from experience that it's better to stay quiet and maintain peace, than to worry so much about yourself or the people around them that you just stir up too much hassle." She frowned and folded her hands together. "Is... Is that a suitable explanation for you? I know it sounds cowardly, but..."
"That'd apply to everyone. Even a rival or enemy," Dolores stated somewhat louder, "I'd try to make peace, at least in the short run... Then see what goes from there?" She averted eye contact once more. "I don't know. I could also just let them have free reign..." At that moment, her voice cracked slightly, which alarmed her so much that she took several steps back. "Um! I... I apologize," the older woman stammered while hastily waving a hand, "I'm just drawing this off my work experience, but... I do imagine, um, that even as a retired woman, the same would apply. You did mention work, after all, yes? So... I thought it was a reasonable path from there, really..."
