The New AI "Artists" PSA Thread

I don't really post in forums, but the responses I've seen recently from "Ayuyu" have disgusted me to the point of physically opening a ticket and reporting the account, showing context with screenshots from this thread and their own comments made on their account for their suicide baiting and threats of it if their account gets closed. I don't know about you guys, but regardless of the threats, this is disgusting behavior and an abhorrent way to respond to something like this, and despite what this user (who has mentioned something about not even being 16) thinks is a good way to respond or act, it's absolutely gross for them to be victimizing themselves so hard, to say they'll continue doing so, to suicide bait, and to threaten suicide or self harm and promote and actually link their sh + ed twitter on their profile comments. It's really not all that funny or cool to victimize yourself and also attempt to bring this much attention to yourself, you look like you seriously not only need help but need to do some self-reflection. I'll be IP-blocking now, because this is leaning on rather nasty troll-ish behavior than being competent and going at this with a level-head. But considering you're someone who has mentioned being under 16, this doesn't exactly surprise me. Get some help. More help than whatever therapy you're talking about, because I can guarantee you, a therapist wouldn't encourage this garbage behavior, and I can also guarantee you that this sort of attitude and outlook is at least part of the reason you say your therapy isn't working, not that that should be a topic on a Toyhouse Forum. This looks like a massive cry for attention as well, and imagine thinking or doing that. (In your own words.)

While this post is not at all intended in any rude nor aggressive manner, it's understandable where anyone would possibly be upset at your reactions, including myself. Thank you.

Moving forward, thank you everyone for discussing this list and continuing to add to it. you're working hard, and it's good help for users who are unsure and antsy about AI. :)

I'm disgusted and disappointed by the way Ayuyu was behaving in this thread and the comments on their profile to the point where I'm ashamed that I was ever mutuals with them...

I'll be reporting and IP-Blocking them as well because I do NOT want to have someone like that on my profile or as my mutual.

what the heck, why would you all even comment on ayuyus original comment? can we have a little empathy here, like dont further aggravate someone who is suicidal, this was escalated so badly, there should have not been any further discussions. also hey be kind, we all do stupid stuff when we were young, seriously 

i never said anything about accountability, im saying that it shouldnt have blown up like that. just ticket it and then thats it. instead there are 3 pages of people making the situation worse. also isnt suicide baiting is the action of encouraging someone to kill themselves? i think ayuyu has a problem, and is actually suicidal, using that to defend using ai art isnt right, but nor is saying that this is somehow suicide bait

ayuyu As somebody who is actually also on this list for my own mistakes, I just wanted to say that things will be okay if you let it settle. It sounds like you’re spiraling right now but if you calm down and take some steps back your account probably won’t get banned, but if you keep talking like this in a public space it’s much more likely. These kind of comments you’re making can be very triggering for other people and cause them to relapse on SH and prompt S ideation for people who are in recovery. You’re so young and you have so many experiences ahead of you that this will be truly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. You make lovely art that you should be proud of. I know that it’s scary to get added to a big blacklist like this I had a really hard time with it at first, too. I almost even quit art altogether a few months back but I realized that I was working myself up and going to an extreme option before giving myself time to actually process it. Having the report link makes it seem even scarier but they only actually include it so that they can still find your account if you change your username. Another user mentioned that you could ask for a note to be added that you consume Ai but don’t sell it and that is a good option, I promise not many people will really bother you for that even if they don’t agree with it. But when it comes to Ai you will always receive criticism, and if that’s really hard for you and you aren’t willing to get rid of it altogether yet, it might be best to keep any Ai generated content private for yourself and only post artwork from artists who don’t use Ai. Toyhouse kind of has a soft no-Ai policy (it isn’t stated in their rules but Toyhouse seems to uphold this standard when content is reported) so any of your characters can be removed for Ai pretty easily. There are other sites that freely allow Ai with better tagging systems so that people who don’t like Ai don’t see as much of it. Toyhouse doesn’t have that kind of feature and probably never will. A lot of artists care very deeply about their art and have real fears about the displacement that Ai can cause (and has caused in some online communities like DeviantART). If you need somebody to talk to to help you manage some of these feelings and find the best way to proceed, I am available and I’ve been there before. 

I hope that was all okay to say and to OP if you want I can remove this comment. I was just alarmed by the content in their comments and wanted to show some support while also not condoning their actions.

op could you please put a self harm warning in the thread, or delete ayuyu's comments? i didnt really expect to be jumpscared by mentions of self harm on a thread like this, and this thread is really starting to spiral out of topic :/

Prisonpie is still using AI, the "sketches" they show are obviously fake. Which makes them a lot worse than anyone on this list in my opinion, using AI and openly stating that fact is one thing but lying about it is another. They're selling their "art" to people for $40 - $80 who are completely oblivious. Looking at their deviations, it seems like they just trace over AI art so it looks more like they drew it, which is why in the "wips" they show there's no construction lines (im aware some people do draw like this, not my point). This is also why, imo, their commissions look lower quality compared to their adopts, because they cant fully rely on AI. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that their art style is also wildly inconsistent and formatted exactly like AI adopts, right? I regret looking into this because it just pissed me off lol. If they really swore off AI I think they would be obligated to contact all of their commissioners & people who bought their adopts, inform them of the AI usage, and refund them if asked. I doubt that's going to happen though.

Mochi them being suicidal had nothing to do with the original post. They only said that for attention and to gardner sympathy from other people. Yes its extremely concerning and I hope they find peace but we weren't talking about that originally and they brought it up. It had nothing to do with the fact they use ai art. Its unacceptable when people might have a trigger for this and it adds nothing to the conversation. She needs to be held accountable.
