The Curry Shop

Pushing open the door as his tail flicked in what was an excited way, the torn tip wished as he heard a few calls of welcome followed by more sudden excited calls by his name. A regular here, he knew eating in would be so much cheaper but he could help but stop by to grab something to eat everyday after school.

“Ryou! We weren’t expecting you for another hour, we would have had your food done if you called ahead.” The kitchen called to him, a person peeking their head out to give a wave and Ryou waved back with his sweet smile.

“I don’t mind, really. I have a friend with me today.” Waiting for the hostess to come get them, they were seated at the bar where Ryou wiggled a little to make himself comfortable before grinning at Diem.

He loved the atmosphere, how friendly everyone was to him and his dragons, and just love the food of course. Though, even if the food wasn’t great he had a feeling he’d still come by just to sit and chat after school as he winded down from what most people called a prison. It didn’t take long for an older gentleman to set menus down for them, cooing at Ryou on how he always looked so much bigger than last time. Before finally his eyes set on Diem.

“Oh my, did you bring your boyfriend this time?”

“Hush hush, I’m just treating him to your delectable dishes.”

“Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!” Dina called as she whizzed by, taking the privilege to zoom into the kitchen herself and return with a glass and straw clutched in her feet, a call from the kitchen came after her but no one came running out after her.

Looking around curiously at the homely feeling place, Diem didn't feel that tinge of nostalgia like most might, but it was a different sort of atmosphere he was pretty sure he could enjoy. It was pretty obvious how often the other came here too, even having an expected time down to the hour.

Propping the bag with his books and journal against the legs of the stool, he took his own seat next to Ryou. Watching the dragon zoom on by towards what was probably the kitchen area. It served as a great distraction from the gentleman's question about bringing a boyfriend this time.

Of course, Diem of all people wasn't about to judge the incubus, it was the whole reason his family had cut ties with him, but it still made him look aaaanywhere that wasn't those two. "H..How often do you come here anyway..? Even your dragon is familiar enough to fly right on into the kitchen." Part of him wondered if Ryou might have some family working here or something too as he picked a menu to look over.

Waving the joking gentleman off, Ryou sighed a bit but picked up his menu, cooing for DIna to come join in and to stop playing with the waitresses who were so busy. Not that they thought the same, giving the small dragon noodle some nice pets and telling her how cute she was with her big glass of water and straw. The dragon listened though, flying back to sit on the edge of her glass and peck at the ice cubes floating in the glass as she settled down.

“I come here about every day after school, I’m usually pretty tired but hungry.” Humming as his eyes glanced over the menu, he set it down to let Dina have her pick today, not surprised as she tapped on one of the pictures she always chose. “Not feeling adventurous today?”

“Nope!” Well, he wasn’t going to press her then, still young he did want her to explore everything but if she liked her beef bowl he’d let her have it.

“And like I mentioned, it's pretty close to where I stay on the weekdays. I figured we could go there after we’re done to wind down and watch a movie or a show before I walk you home. So what did you want to have today?”

Having a usual of his own, he did sometimes expand out to try the specials of the day but he had his heart set on some spicy noodles and his favorite curry over white rice with an extra side of pork katsu. Extra spicy of course, as he did love when his food bit back.

Scanning over things, Diem held the menu up high and his ears stayed low, hiding behind the thing so he could keep his blushing to himself. It was kinda impressive that they stopped by every day, knowing some kids had the means to do so.

Peaking over the top of his menu, he gave Ryou a quick glance over. He suppose they looked nice enough to belong to a properly well off family. Looking the part didn't always mean it was so as he knew, but they seemed sweet and upbeat too. Before he could look long enough to be considered staring, Diem went back to his menu. "Uuh, I think I'll have the curry on special you talked about before. A glass of milk if they have it would be great too." It was just a thank you dinner, he didn't want to get too much.

The movie was a bit unexpected as well, but it wasn't like the feline had anything else to do. He just sent a word to Malice saying he'd be home later than normal, getting a sleepy reply from his currently dozing dragon back in the inn. "What sort of shows do you like to watch?"

Letting Diem pick out what he wanted, the pale colored male played with his dragon for now, sitting on the edge of her cup with her straw. Waving another straw at her she wiggled around, trying to grab at the new straw that just haaaaad to go in the cup too! Cups were for straws, and no where else were they supposed to go! Or that was what she thought, still young and learning about the normal things that happened every day.

“I’m sure they have some sort of milk drink.” Looking up from teasing his purple bird noodle with the straw to one of the waitresses, he waved her down once her sight turned to them and over she came.

More professional but still made comments on home Ryou was getting so handsome for his age. Older than the boys and a clear adult, it was a very mom like thing to tell the young boy, She of course gave Diem a greeting as well, telling him he had such good taste for a fine looking cat, but after taking the order she was off. Sighing, Ryou watched her go as Diem started asking more questions. Not that he minded at all, he liked talking with him even if in short bursts.

“I usually let my dragons choose. One likes to watch those song stations that play music, another likes to watch romantic dramas, and the other likes nature shows. I do tend to find myself watching cooking shows and home improvement shows, it helps teach me some things i may not have known. Do you have any favorites though? You’ll be the guest so we can watch whatever you’d life, that’s only propper.”

Barely even finishing, the food was laid out before him. Even Ryou surprised as he looked up to the waitress who gave him a wink. But he was left only more confused. Sure they had sat and talked for a little, but that surely wasn’t long enough for the cook to whip something up, riiiight? Well, he was wrong but he still felt like it was too short a time if it was him.

“Your dish is still being made, cute kitty, but have some of the spicy noodles as you wait~ It shouldn’t take too long at all.” She did however have his milk, setting it down on the counter with him with a straw that Dina was already eyeing.
