Nervously tapping his foot on the bar stool's leg, Diem was starting to feel a little self conscious. Accidentally kicking over the bag, the books spilled half-way out. Needing to hop off for a moment, he made sure the journal was unharmed, not really caring about the others as he stuffed them back inside. He wasn't used to being complimented once, let alone... was it technically three times if he counted Ryou? They didn't seem like the overly flirtatious or lewd sort of incubus from a distance, but surprised him oh so often today already. He could just have a thing for cats... and that was only making him that little bit more nervous with them over time. "Really? I like the cooking shows as well. And um.. cartoons as well." it felt a little strange admitting that, but he was still young enough for that to be normal right?

When the waitress returned, he had to peek up to greet and thank the woman for the compliment. He was a bit of a fighty tomcat, but had it drilled into him to be polite to women as well as those he wanted to befriend. "Thank you ma'am.." It was embarrassing to be called a cute kitty, though that was much preferred than an unlucky one. Taking up the milk, he wasn't sure about the spicy noodles as he glanced at the little dragon he could see pointedly staring at his straw.

Grinning a bit, Diem stuck the paper covered slurping utensil between his ear and hair like a pencil. Something that looked a little awkward with his cat ears, but as long as they didn't twitch he knew it'd stay there with practice. Bringing the glass to his mouth, he was very cat-like in his behavior at first, lapping at it like the most normal thing in the world. Which, to him it was, considering he normally drank open glasses of milk by himself. "Your dragon's really cute."

“Cartoons are quite fun, i agree. I pick up some on DVD for the dragons when we're on the ship since we don’t always get a connection that high up. It’s a shame but what can you do?” His dragons were really okay with anything on the tv, just wanting some sort of background noise when he wasn’t home.

Speaking of that though, he hummed and poked as Cas and Charmeine, getting confused emotions from the both of them that were suddenly turned to excitement. He did love when they had company, Ryou could imagine the strange sliced neck pegasus already tippy tappitying about from the wonderful idea of someone over that he could lay his head on and get pets from. He was a simple dragon who loved the life of love his rider gave to him.

Once food came however, there was less talking from Ryou as he thanked the waitress, picking up the chopsticks laid down for him compared to Diem who of course had a set, but also a simple fork as well for his noodles. There was a spoon as well that for now laid abandoned, but was mostly for Dina when it was rice time. A time that was still a little off as the purple bird noodle stared at Diem, her unblinking eyes as she crept closer but was shooed off as Ryou looked at her and whistled softly.

“Leave the poor boy alone, he doesn’t need straw battles.”

“But, BUT!!” She tried to protest, but getting a head shake from Ryou she just sand and sat on the bowls edge, chewing on one of the pieces of meat while making happy chirps all the way. Even with a mouth full of food she wasn’t to be quieted.

“Why thank you, she’s only a few days old so i figure she’s bound to get bigger. I’m hoping big enough to carry her sister. Out of my three dragons only one seems to be lacking wings but she is the cutest thing all the same.” Humming as he stuffed his mouth full, he watched Diem for a moment, keeping his desire to grin and chuckle to himself. “Do you have any dragons?”

Purposefully wiggling his ear just enough that he could feel the paper straw tilting back and forth, Diem was enjoying watching the noodle creep towards him in attack mode. He was already used to playing with Malice with a hands on approach. Something that often left him looking like more of a cat owner than a cat himself with little scratches covering his hands. Boy had she given them both a mild heart attack when she caught his wrist last week and he needed to bandage it up. Glad that wasn't something he'd ever have to explain to his parents.

"I don't mind, I'm doing it on purpose anyway." Reaching up, he took the straw from his ear, very nonchalant as he tore off the end to blow it at Ryou before handing it over to the little dragon. "I've got a big storm dragon of my own that used to be that size. A few earth hybrids too, but I can't keep them all with me.." Ears dropping down as he sighed, it was quite obvious to tell which part of the rollercoaster of emotions the young teen was on thanks to his catty features. "They all like spicy foods too, maybe I'll bring them here too one at a time."

Flailing his hand a bit as he watched the slim paper casing fling towards him, it was easy enough to knock it down before picking it up to add to the small pile that was trash. Only a napkin and the straw casing currently in it but it was neat all the same for being trash.

“That’s not nice, how can I teach my good noodle to be good if she’s being teased.” Joking, he didn’t mind, she was far too small to do any damage and she was very involved in her food now, shoving whole pieces of meat into her mouth like they were nothing before going onto the next. That was why Ryou figured she was going to get bigger, just how much bigger was the question.

“Why?” Dina pipped up from her bowl, her small hands reaching out to grab the straw, it going straight into her glass of water where she was happy to put it while Diem sulked into his noodles.

“I do agree with that, why can’t you keep them?” As he asked, the rest of Diem’s food was rolled out, the bowl slipped right onto the table. Their conversation interrupted with a few more comments from their momma waitress but she was off to leave the group to their meal. “My one dragon is quite big and he fits comfortably on my ship with room to spare, is your home not big enough for them?”

Picking up the chopsticks to poke at the noodles, Diem was more so playing with his food now as he pouted at them. Every now and then he'd slurp one up without spilling a drop somehow, but his ears stayed back while the sleek black tail curled around the bar stool legs. "Yeah pretty much. Malice barely fits in bed with me by herself. There are three others that come and go but I feel bad calling them home just cause I wanna see them then having them sleep on the floor."

Unfortunately his father could only provide so much financial support while trying to keep his mother happy and the rest of the family fed. "It can't be helped, I'll have enough to get someplace bigger eventually." It did strike him as a little odd that Ryou claimed to have a ship they lived on with their dragons... but.. maybe they were an ocean rider? There was a lot of noodle on their purple baby dragon that was chowing down, but it didn't look very ocean like other than that.

"No use getting upset before a good meal though, let's dig in." There were a lot of ways that food solved Diem's problems. Eating it was certainly one of them as he scooted the noodles over in favor of the curry that was brought out.

“That’s a shame...” Ryou started off, though did seem quite sad for Diem he didn’t know what he could do. Sure he lived away from his parents so it didn’t matter what he did, and the place he lived in waaaaaas his. After no time at all, his face lit up as Dina stopped eating to look at her rider, chirping a little until he gave her a soft whistle as a response. A noise that seemed to ease her back into eating while Ryou stopped for a moment. “Why don’t you come stay on the ship with me? It’s big and all, and you don't need to pay rent or anything as it’s my ship. You could save your money for other things?”

Some would say Ryou was too trusting, or maybe he was just gay for the cat boy, either way the ship was big and if Diem planned to do anything he would be more then happy to release the wrath os his dragons and himself on his peer. But for now it seemed like a good idea. Digging right into his food after, it was always best hot, and he wasn’t about to waste the best of his delicious meal.
