Waking up one morning Thalia heard a knock on her door. Answering it she found a lovely bouquet of roses, with a small card attached.
'Thalia, may these roses bring you the joy that you have brought me through the years. Love -name of non descript boyfriend-'
She was so excited, placing the bouquet quickly in a vase with water. She has been with him for so long, and it was always exciting to get flowers from him, as it meant that he was going to be visiting soon.
A few days passed waiting for him to arrive, but the days kept coming and going without any news. Each day she tended to the bouquet, wanting them to stay fresh for when he would come. The days turned to weeks, and the flowers slowly started to wilt. After a month or so she received another knock on her door, this time it was just a letter.
'Thalia, I hope this letter finds you well. I am sorry i never came to see you after I sent the roses, but i had become quite sick and was not able to travel. I am sure the roses are long gone by now, but I assure you my feelings are still quite alive and true. Let the now withered roses represent our love in a different way. May they represent that no matter how things change, that we still care for each other even in our weakest moments. I will be arriving tomorrow, to revive our withered roses and give you my heart once again. Love, -name of non descript boyfriend-'
