Sitting, waiting, alone in the dark
Wanting to meet someone, feel just one spark.
Her heart felt heavy, a pain in her chest
Being alone was just never the best.

All she did was sit and wait,
Her person not sleeping, what awful fate.
When they were awake, she had no one else,
Her person never saw her, she had only herself.

Wondering why she was here, alone,
Maybe in town she should make herself known.
Wanting a connection, even just a friend.
She wanted to know when the loneliness would end.
