Achlys Clan

Be not towards death, but towards a legacy to be left.

A patriarchal clan of worshippers of the apocalypse.

Formed by a long lineage of warriors and military leaders, they worshipped the patriarch War; thus, celebrating ideals of battle, honor and immortality (both literal and through legacy). This worship has led to him "blessing" the family with a power of necromancy, which has influenced much of their values and tradition, despite it still remaining a secret to any outsiders to this day. Such power is passed from generation to generation, at the current patriarch's death to the oldest maleborn heir. Though this formula has persisted unprovoked for centuries, Mallory's missing status has left them troubled, though far more due to the lost necromancy than their own lost heir. With this, they were led to a slow, but steady decline, which the Geiers have made sure to take advantage of, somewhat strenghtening their own influence over Tirenadh.

Each child is brought up with great support and esteem from the parents, however, with much brutality and intolerance to failure as well. It became a dogma: raising the youglings this way would lead to a great character, such as those of war heroes and political leaders.

Despite their current tyrannical reputation, the d'Achlys were not always brutal combatants. In fact, their common ancestor was St. d'Achlys, a pacific Saphran navigator and explorer who sought to learn more about the world around him. Being the first human to arrive in a foreign continent, d'Achlys was revered in Saphra as a legendary adventurer, a reputation which his newly established family of descendants in Cenedra ought to uphold. However, with the coming of more travellers arriving in Cenedra, establishing their own clans, disputes over territory began, with the Achlys Clan emerging victorious, earning them their current infamy.
