SOCIETY SUMMARY
Milki are a race of sentient, milkshake humanoids with whipped cream/mousse hair and glass encasing their lower bodies. The glass encasing their lower body is crucial for a milki, as if the glass is damaged, it will not heal on it's own! Cracked glass is incredibly painful and a serious injury, and if a Milki's glass breaks completely, they will usually die.
As they are a race of sentient food, their toppings, milkshake, and accessories are very important to them, and contribute a lot to their culture and behaviors! Many Milkis pride themselves in their looks, and will use different cosmetics to alter their appearance or spiffy themselves up for a night out. Another big aspect of their culture is glass modding, where they either get etched 'tattoos' or get glass molded onto themselves to further enhance their appearance. Toppings are especially important when it comes to the the appearance of a Milki. In Milki society, the more types of toppings you have, the more 'wealthy' you are considered. This is a more old fashioned way of thinking about toppings, so a lot of younger Milki have begun to separate themselves from this ideal. Because of this, toppings have become more of an appearance thing, rather than carrying the value they once had.
Toppings used to be the only form of currency used in Milki society. Milki would trade their toppings for goods and other purchasable items, so prices from store to store were subject to the seller's discretion on how much a certain topping was worth. Some places still only take toppings as a form of currency, but now it's become acceptable to use set-price coins to purchase items with. Most stores and businesses take both toppings and coins for payment.
Finally, the last important part of Milki society is social cannibalism. Milkis are made of milkshake, and their toppings are food! So it is very common and considered normal for Milki's to trade toppings or take a small lick of someone else's milkshake. Some Milki take it to the extreme and will bite off chunks of other Milki, but as long as they got permission it is perfectly acceptable. Taking someone's toppings, licking them, or biting off pieces of them without asking is considered very rude This is why Vampire Milki are regarded with some suspicion and mistrust.
