• Mochibuns can shapeshift between human and rabbit. They can be humanoid, kemonomimi, anthro, kenomo or feral. 
  • In feral form, the ear pattern and mochi cannot be shapeshifted away. Additional magic must be used to hide the ear pattern and mochi.
  • For humanoid forms, any combination of rabbit and human traits is allowed. There can be paw hands/feet.
  • Visible tails are not required on references when submitting designs unless the tail is hybrid.

• Mochi are solid objects with filling and cannot be thin, stringy, etc.
  • Permanently ruptured/damaged mochi is an add-on trait, purchasable at the marketplace. Otherwise, mochi must be intact on design.
  • Sauce/frosting/etc on the mochi is not allowed unless hybrid mochi.
• Mochi can be any color except black and usually have patterns.
  • There is no limit to the number of colors that can be used.
  • Black cannot be used unless the mochibun is fully or partially corrupt, in which case the mochi turns black automatically.
  • The pattern can be different on right versus left mochi.
• Mochi cannot resemble specific items or have specific textures unless hybrid.
  • Patterns should be 2D and not have hyper-realistic images or patterns.
  • Mochi can be shaped like certain objects but must be clearly simplified or otherwise unrealistic.
    • Ex: A bell mochi. The holes in the bell must be "painted on" and the texture of the mochi cannot be shiny like metal.
• 3 star rank must have spherical/round mochi.
  • Because 3 star rank mochibuns can only have spherical mochi, 3 star mochibuns cannot have hybrid mochi.
• 1, 2, 4 and 5 star rank can have non-spherical mochi shapes.
  • The shape can be different for right versus left mochi.

• Can have normal, flavor or unique pupils.
• 1-4 star rank can have Flavor Pupils or normal/spherical pupils.
  • Flavor Pupils = shapes specific to the flavor, on the flavor guide.
• 4 or 5 star rank can have Unique Pupils.
  • Any shape that is not a Flavor Pupil.
    • Ex: Star, Heart, Rabbit, Flower, Teardrop, Number, etc
  • Different pupil shapes can be used for each eye.
  • It is okay to use only 1 Unique Pupil or different shapes for each eye.
• Eyes must be "normal" without add-on(s).
  • Pupils are required and must be black or white.

• They have special patterns on their rabbit ears known as Flavor Patterns.
  • Patterns are primarily Set Flavor Patterns, 1 of the many options on the flavor guide.
  • 1 and 2 star rank buns can have a Unique Flavor Pattern.
    • The ear color and flavor must be the same as one of the Set Flavor Patterns, regardless of what flavor unless the Special Flavor add-on is used.

  • Due to the number of flavors available and amount of individual images for flavor references, the flavor guide is on a separate page.
  • There can be slight variances in ear patterns but pattern must be recognizable.
  • Ear pattern must be visible or you will be asked for an up close ear reference.
• Ear color of a Set Flavor Pattern must match the flavor guide.
  • Minor color differences are allowed, it is not required to color pick. However, more scrutiny will be given to the Set Flavor Patterns that are similar to others in color (ex: lychee vs strawberry).
  • Pattern must be white unless Color Pattern add-on used.
• Can have regular rabbit ears, one bent rabbit ear, fuzzy ears or lop ears without add-on.
• Ears must be taller than half the size of their head, but shorter than full head length.
• Can have human ears and rabbit ears at the same time.
  • Only hybrids can have pointed/elf ears, fin ears, or otherwise non-human ears where human ears are located.

• Clouds can be any density/amount.
  • Buns will unconsciously create them even if they don't want to have any around.
    • It is possible to turn the clouds "off" and "on" for daily life, but cloud(s) must be present on all references.
• Clouds can be any excluding black.
  • Using multiple colors is okay.
  • Only corrupted buns can have black clouds (no add-on required).

• This trait is exclusive to 1 and 5 star rank buns.
  • 2, 3 and 4 star rank buns cannot have this trait.
• 1 to 5 moons orbit the mochibun, they are not stationary.
• Moons are smaller than a head but bigger than a fist.
• Moons can be any color except for black.
  • Using multiple colors is okay.
  • Only corrupted mochibun can have black moons (no add-on required).
• Moons can be spherical or crescent shaped.
  • Moons cannot be damaged/fragmented unless the mochibun is corrupted.

Most mochibuns have a crescent-shaped birthmark somewhere on their body. It is unknown why-- some view it as a magical "brand" relating to Chang'E-- but the real reason for its common occurrence is unknown.

• Can be any size, shape, color or placement.
  • Some marks are more stylized or intricate.
  • They're usually naturally colored, but sometimes resemble tattoos despite being present since birth.
  • The most common placement is somewhere on the torso.
• It's thought that having a Crescent Mark is auspicious.
  • It's commonly believed that those with a mark are favored/blessed by Chang'E. But she hasn't been around for centuries, so...believe what you will.
  • No scientifically proven benefits exist for those who have a mark versus those who don't.

• Supersize Tail
  • Tail can be up to 1/3 of mochibun's body size.
  • The volume of a larger tail comes from the hair on the tail-- it's abnormally long.
    • Hair on Supersize Tail can be trimmed or otherwise styled but grows back fast.
    • While a Supersize Tail bone is longer than a normal tail, it cannot notably move.
• Third Eye
  • An eye on the forehead that is either vertical or horizontal.
  • The pupil shape must match their other eyes.
• Distressed Mochi
  • Allows you to make the mochi "damaged", with bite marks, torn/can see the filling, leaking filling, etc.
• Colored Moons
  • This add-on only applies to 1 and 5 star mochibuns as only they can have moons.
  • With this add-on, you can have any moon color except black or red.
    • Black and red moons are exclusive to corrupted mochibuns and do not need this add-on to have red or black moons.
• Shaped Clouds
  • This add-on only applies to mochibuns that have clouds.
  • With this add-on, you can have any shape of clouds.  
    • Can have "normal" AND a specific shape of cloud together (ex: Star AND heart shaped clouds).
    • Shaped clouds cannot resemble humans or specific individuals.
    • Clouds with faces or are shaped like animals are not alive and do not have sentience.
  • Any number of shapes can be used for the Shaped Cloud add-on, can have "normal" AND a specific shape of cloud together.
    • Shaped clouds cannot resemble humans or specific individuals.
    • Clouds with faces or are shaped like animals are not alive and do not have sentience.
• Cloud Weather
  • This add-on only applies to mochibuns that have clouds.
  • With this add-on, the clouds can produce weather. Weather can be any type, change type, and "turn off".
• Colored Pattern
  • Allows the holder to use a color for ear pattern/pupil color that is not white or black.
    • Any color can be used, excluding pure black. Darker colors are fine to use, as well as gray.
• Special Flavor
  • Allows the holder to use 2 different Set Flavor Patterns on 1 design OR use a Set Flavor Pattern on 1 ear and an original pattern on the other OR able to make a completely new ear pattern.
  • Special Flavors can be be any combination of flavors and/or ingredients. Cannot be a multi-ingredient dish/drink.
    • Ex: beef, cinnamon, coffee, pineapple = okay
    • Ex: pumpkin pie, egg drop soup, boba milk tea = not okay
  • While flavors on the set guide can be used, they must be more specific and/or elevated.
    • Ex: "sesame hot chocolate" instead of just "sesame".
  • The pattern cannot take over 60% of the ear/the pattern cannot be the dominant color.
    • Patterns cannot be overly similar to existing flavor patterns.
• Mochimono Passport
  • Allows the holder to turn a mochibun into a mochimono-- see this page for more information.
    • Mochimono = non-rabbit animal for a mochibun.
  • This item can only be used for mammalian, non-mythical-animal ears and tail.
  • For other animal parts (wings, hooves, etc), a hybrid slice or ticket must be used.
• Hybrid Slice
  • A hybrid slice allows you to add ONE hybrid trait to your mochibun.
    • Hybrid = mochibun (rabbit kenomimi) with non-organic, fantasy and/or etc parts.
    • See the this page for more details on what hybrid traits are.
  • Can stack with other hybrid slices.
• Nomochi
  • The mochibun doesn't have mochi.
    • This can be because of a defective gene, injury, magical imbalance, etc. Sometimes they just stop growing.
• Eye Plague
  • This condition means that the mochibun has multiple eyes, unusual colored sclera, or both.
  • Cannot have a singular forehead eye unless third eye add-on was bought.
  • The eyes can have normal pupils or flavor pattern pupils.
    • Multiple pupils are okay.
    • Unique pupils can only be used if the mochibun's normal 2 eyes have a unique pupil shape(s), and it is limited to only those shapes.
  • The sclera can be any color/different eyes can have different color sclera.
    • Any color can be used for the scleras, BUT the standard 2 eyes cannot have black sclera.
    • Black sclera of standard eyes is a corruption exclusive trait. Any other scleras can be black otherwise.
  • The eyes can be hidden from view/shielded with magic or magical items, but cannot be permanently removed.
    • Eyes can "change places", where some go away over time and others appear.
  • Floating eyes can be manifested around mochibun at will.
• Overgrown
  • With this condition, plants grow from a mochibun's flesh. 
    • The plant can be any species, with a maximum amount of 5 different plant species.
      • Can include glowing/bioluminescent or otherwise supernatural plants.
      • Plants can be rotting/dead/etc.
    • Plants grow abnormally fast. It's  highly advised against eating/using them.
    • Plants can grow internally/inside the mochibun's body. External growth is just more common.
  • Hurting the plants doesn't hurt the mochibun, but ripping out the plants will because they're rooted in the skin.
• Rotting
  • Mochibuns with this condition can have wrap around scars, have detachable body parts and/or be visibly rotting.
    • Can have different colored patches of skin within the range of human skin tone.
      • Can only be colors within the human skintone range unless hybrid slice used.
    • Can have any color blood/puss/etc oozing from body parts.
      • Blood must be red unless hybrid slice used.
    • Can have dripping/melting body parts.
  • Despite rotting, they're able to act/function as normal.
• Crystalline
  • Blood and tears solidify into minerals/crystals after being exposed to oxygen after 3-10 seconds.
    • Other body fluids are not affected.
    • The type of crystal can be any precious stone (diamond, ruby, sapphire, etc).
      • Must be something that can be found in nature and cannot be radioactive.
      • The atomic structures of the crystals are not different from naturally formed crystals.
    • The type of crystal depends on the mochibun's mood, diet, genetics, environment, etc.
  • Occasionally, the mochibun has to hack up chunks of crystal if the condition is particularly advanced.

• This star rank has a set unique ear pattern.
  • Unique patterns are on the bottom row of the flavor ref. The color can be any color of another flavor.
• Mochi must be uniquely shaped, see mochi section for more information.
• They have a flavor pupil shape or normal pupil shape.
  • Pupils must be present, the color of the pupil must be either black or white.

• This star rank can have a unique ear pattern OR unique mochi but not both.
  • One must be present, or they will be 3 star rank instead!
• Has a unique ear pattern OR a set flavor ear pattern.

  • Major body type changes may not be allowed due to potential body type negativity implications.
• Changing between kemonomimi to kenomo/anthro or vice versa.
• Notable changes to hair length, hair type, hair cut and/or color.
• Notably changing skin color.
  • Skin color changes that alter perceived ethnicity will not be allowed due to racial implications.
• Major cosmetic changes.
  • Adding or removing: freckles, multiple moles, vitiligo, notable scarring, big tattoos, etc.
• Adding, removing, or altering prosthetics.
  • Can change the type of prosthetic.
    • Prosthetics have to be obviously prosthetic/can't look like natural flesh unless hybrid.
    • The place where prosthetic and flesh meet should be distinct.
• Changing mochi flavor, shape, and/or pattern.
  • Flavor and shape changes require items.
  • Changing mochi pattern requires reapproval, but does not require any item to do so.
• Changing star rank and/or traits.
  • Star rank or trait changes require items.
• Adding, removing or recoloring clouds.
  • Doing so does not require a redesign item.
  • Mochibun who do not have clouds on their Masterlist Entry should not be portrayed with clouds as a trait without approval.
• Adding, removing or recoloring moons.
  • Doing so does not require a redesign item.
  • Mochibun who do not have moons on their Masterlist Entry should not be portrayed with moons as a trait without approval.

• Changing limbs from human to rabbit or vice versa.
• Eye color changes.
  • Ex: blue eyes to green eyes is a minor change.
  • CANNOT change pupil shape unless a Rank Slice or Full Redesign Loaf is used.
• Wardrobe and/or accessory changes.
• Adding or removing minor cosmetic marks and/or other accessories.
  • Ex: Small tattoos, single moles/beauty marks, minor scars, piercings, etc.
• Rabbit ear scarring/rips/tears/etc.
  • Adding or removing. 
  • Cannot have over half of an ear missing and/or a prosthetic ear unless hybrid.
    • Any rips/tears/etc should not make the ear pattern look like something else.
• Adding or removing Cresent Marks.
  • This trait is not logged on the masterlist.

• Official designs cannot have their flavor or star rank changed.
  • Other things can be changed within regular redesign guidelines.
  • Add-ons can be applied to official designs.
• Official designs that don’t come with an uncorrupted design can have an uncorrupted design made by the current owner. 
  • Once submitted, it becomes “official” and cannot be changed.
  • If the flavor is not set, the owner can decide flavor (cannot be changed after set).
