flavor guide

So many flavors, so little time...

Last Updated: 7/10/2022

Good to taste, good to see!

Mochibuns have a unique feature- they come in “different flavors”. The type of flavor a Mochibun is impacts their ear color, ear pattern, and pupil shape for the majority of buns. Flavor is primarily cosmetic, as there is no benefit or downside to having any specific flavor.

Due to the amount of flavors available and amount of individual images for flavor references, the flavor guide is on a different page than the design & trait guide. The design & trait guide is a basic introduction to the main Mochibun traits plus the do's and do not's when designing and redesigning!

What do I need to know about flavors?

All Mochibun have special patterns on their rabbit ears known as "Flavor Patterns".

  • The majority of buns have "Set Flavor Patterns." Buns with "Set Flavor Patterns" must have exactly the same ear pattern and color as one of the ones on this guide.
  • Only 1 and 2 star rank Mochibuns can have a "Unique Flavor Pattern". 1 star rank buns must have a unique ear pattern. 2 star rank can have a "Unique Flavor Pattern" OR unique mochi but not both.

This guide shows all "Set Patterns" flavors available.

  • There can be slight variants in ear pattern that differ from Mochibun to Mochibun but ear patterns must be recognizable by 90% or more.
  • The black symbol on each page is the flavor pupil shape, unique to that flavor.
  • The entire symbol in black is the pupil pattern. The white is not part of the shape, it is the background of the image.

If "Flavor Pupils", the flavor must be the same as the "Set Flavor Patterns" unless the Unique Flavor add-on used.

  • Ex: Can not have blueberry "Flavor Pupils" and strawberry "Set Flavor Patterns".

Ear color must be the same as the reference.

  • You are not required to color pick, but we may request a recolor if there is a notable difference when submitting.
  • The only exception are "Unique Flavor Patterns". The inner ear cannot be black unless the bun is corrupted, the inner ear color can be any color that belongs to a "Set Flavor Patterns".

Ear pattern must be white.

  • Ear pattern can only be non-white if "Colored Pattern" add-on is used, purchasable at the marketplace.

Only with the "Special Flavor" add-on can ear patterns be flavors and colors that are not in the flavor guide.

  • Can purchase add-ons at the marketplace. With the "Special Flavor" add-on, the designer can:
  • Make and use an original ear pattern (pattern must still be white unless "Colored Pattern" add-on also used).
  • Use 1 "Set Flavor Pattern" on 1 ear and an original pattern on the other.
  • Use 1 "Set Flavor Pattern" on 1 ear and a different "Set Flavor Pattern" on another.
  • Use a "Set Flavor Pattern" from 1 flavor and the color of a different pattern.
  • While a "Set Flavor Pattern" can be used, the flavor must become nuanced.
  • Ex: "sesame hot chocolate" instead of just "sesame".

Flavor cannot be changed without a "Flavor Change Potion".
