Dislikes: Chaos elements, light elements, his plans being interfered, his hometown, light-hearted moments, loud music, and being betrayed.

Personality: Shadow hates other life forms, especially chaos elements with a passion. He finds much of the citizens of the universe to be selfish, careless, and unworthy of life, and feels that he deserves power over them. He believes that the strong should rule over the weak and those who oppose him should die. When he's not causing havoc for others, Shadow-cat prefers to rest in solitude, largely disliking social interaction with even his minions.

History: Originally named Keita/Kaita, Shadow was born on Animal Planet with a large amount of power. While many were impressed and amazed by his power, few attempted to befriend him and become close to him, making him bitter towards others as he felt outcasted. One day he encountered the mysterious elf Cecil, who recognized that he could use his power to change society his way. Shortly after, Shadow encountered an Ameritis Crystal and realized just how powerful he could be. Through Cecil,  Shadow eventually meets Glades and joins her on her quest of destruction, ditching his old name in the process. Overtime, Shadow discovered a way to corrupt the hearts of others and founded an evil organization called the Shadow Animal Corporation (SAC) and recruited several of the mysterious elves into it. He then set out to collect the Ameritis Crystals.

Sometime before the start of the story, Swirly became aware of Shadow's plans and began stopping him at every opportunity. Finding her to be a nuisance, he captured her and had her memory erased. However, she managed to escape not long after causing Shadow to once again target her.

Current-Bio: Shadow currently lives in his evil lair on Animal Planet. When not giving orders to his minions, he's usually out on his own solo missions or communicating with Glades. He initially relies on his minions to deal with Swirly, Sketches, and Lightning, but later decides to deal with them himself.

Meta-History: Despite being one of the main villains of the current version of the story, Shadow was only created around 2010, long after I had already created several of the characters. He was initially the villain of a single arc and had a very different backstory. His original backstory had him as a friend of Telepathy and Night (idk if I'll make her bio since her role is now filled by other characters, but we'll see) named Xavier who was corrupted by darkness. Shadow was created around the time when I began to make major changes to the story and characters (Sketches got a new design and name, the main villains became more organized, several new characters were made while old ones disappeared, etc) and eventually got promoted from arc villain to main series villain with Glades. His old Xavier backstory is no longer a thing, but I might make a separate character out of it one day. For some reason I've called him "Shadow-cat" a lot on my Deviantart posts but he actually goes by Shadow in-universe.

Part of his backstory is missing here, but I don't want to spoil. (not that I'll be continuing the comic anytime soon |D )

Relationships with Other Characters:

Swirly: Shadow hates Swirly and considers her a direct threat to his plans. He's the one responsible for her capture and amnesia at the start of the story due to her knowing too much.

Sketches: Shadow takes great interest in Sketches after encountering him. Why the two are enemies and have a mutual hatred of each other, Shadow has occasionally attempted to lure Sketches to the dark side.

Lightning: Shadow considers Lightning to be a pest.

Jade: While he was initially going to kill Jade, Shadow ended up making her join his evil organization and blackmailed her into staying. Later in the story when Jade leaves and joins the heroes, Shadow once again attempts to kill her.

Sakai: Shadow is curious about the mysterious girl and how she knows so much. Since she often foils his plans, he considers her an enemy.

Telepathy: Shadow-cat wants to capture Telepathy in order to access her power, having already captured her sister Purity.

Shine: Shadow considers Shine to be one of his main enemies due to the unfortunate history between light and dark elements.

Luna: Shadow hates Luna.

Latin: Shadow hates Latin.

Emperor Dark: Shadow initially considers Dark to be his ally. However, this changes with the story.

Glades: Shadow works directly with Glades and considers her to be his greatest ally.

Deerrain: Shadow is surprisingly playful when it comes to Deerrain, finding his pathetic life amusing.

Saturn: Shadow respects Saturn as a minion.

Cyrus: Shadow considers Cyrus to be one of his most trust-able minions.

Matchi: Shadow was surprised to learn their was an elf he didn't know about. He lets her join his organization, but remains cautious with revealing his plans to her.

Cecil: Shadow and Cecl have  known each other for a long time, with Cecil being part of Shadow's turn  to darkness. The two are allies, but are a bit aloof towards each  other.

Meevio: Shadow doesn't know why a Sprite wants to be a part of his organization but he just goes along with it.

Pocky: Shadow and Pocky have known each other longer than all of the others. While Pocky still considers Shadow to be a best friend, the feeling is not mutual on Shadow's side.

Marin: Shadow mainly ignores Marin.

Reese: Shadow trusts Reese with missions.
