A young woman going by the name HAZARD is all that remains of a botched experiment by the Russian government. Having been suspended in a coma for years, HAZARD is nothing like their former self. Radiation exposure and chemical and biological experimentation have altered her genetics and mind beyond repair.

Nadezdha, affectionately nicknamed Nadya by her family, had an ordinary childhood. Shortly before the turn of the century, when world leader governments began heavily investing in studies of the supernatural and paranormal, her family was caught in the crossfire. While originally drafted into the military along with remaining family, Nadezdha was selected based on her high physical scores and moved to a secret facility on the outskirts of Pripyat for enhanced testing.

During the years that followed, Nadezdha was heavily experimented on and isolated to become a top secret genetics project, slowly being groomed into a living human weapon. After a horrific accident, scientists fearing the worst underwent emergency procedures, quite literally freezing their assets and evacuating the facility to come back to it later. Unfortunately, the remaining fallout from the disaster had suspended the miles around the site as a toxic, hazardous wasteland for decades to come, until the facility was all but forgotten about.

As Nadezdha lay comatose and undisturbed for years, her body began to take on strange properties while living just barely alive in a suspended state for so long. After a few looters breaking into the desolated facility woke it up from it's coma, Nadezdha found it could not remember a single thing from it's past or what had happened in the years she had been comatose. Fleeing the abandoned wasteland, Nadezdha began trying to make sense of the scary, changed world and of herself.
