Abel is the most lively out of all the agents, friendly and approachable, always happy to crack a lighthearted joke to ease the tension. He can come off as a people-pleaser, but he truly does want to bond and be close to whoever he meets, engaging in their interests and trying to make them feel seen and listened to. They can err on the side of being impulsive and flighty though, and tend to make rash decisions or say something insensitive or callous. They prefer to treat their duties as more fun and games than work, leading to them coming off as immature to the other agents, especially Rhea.

Origin

Abel grew up an Alburn, the youngest son to an incredibly well-known old money family. Growing up alongside his elder brother, Cain, Abel was decidedly clear to be his parents' favorite. Abel found himself to be naturally talented with any hobby or skill he picked up, much to his brother's chagrin. Despite his prowess and the vast inheritance he was promised, Abel became bored of the stuffy, wealthy environment and had begun to seek a way out of the role he was born into.

Past

Though Abel never held any animosity towards his brother, even looking up to him and admiring him greatly, the same could not be said of the reverse. While attempting to console his brother during a breakdown after Abel was officially named heir, Cain struck out with a familial bust and cracked Abel in the side of the head. The next time he came to, Abel was in someone else's bed, his wound being tended to by a kind stranger who introduced herself as Delta and claimed to have recovered his body not far from her base.

As Abel recovered, Delta and him began to bond and chat, Abel instantly wanting to assist the NSS after hearing about it from Delta. Once Rhea visited the hub for the first time since Abel was found, Abel and Delta both pleaded to give him a position in the NSS, to which Rhea quickly relented. Abel found themself offering their skills as a scout, citing his endurance and fondness for exploration. Though Rhea would have been able to find a home for them no problem, Abel insisted on staying in the hub with Delta, whose company he had grown fond of.

Present

Despite claiming he couldn't recall who he was and where he came from upon his first meeting with Delta, Abel retains a perfect recollection of what had happened in his familial mansion. Unable to come to terms with what their brother had done to them, Abel lied and claimed to have no memory, citing a fall and their injury as a sign that they were suffering from amnesia. Now free to roam and wander the Dead Zone to his heart's content, Abel simply puts off thinking about it, unwilling to entertain the prospect of potentially interacting with Cain again.

• Abel's headband was originally a bandage, but he came to be fond of putting his hair up.
• His 'fearless streak' is one of a few symptoms of his traumatic brain injury that he has passed off as a 'cutesy' personality trait.
• Was trained to play piano classically, but was more fond of playing ukelele.
• Tends to crush pretty easily, though none have been as serious as his crush on Rhea.
• Still has a bit of spoiled rich boy in him, though he tries to check it.
