Mephistopheles

the highest ranking envy demon, as well as eshaan’s boss. mephisto is the master of demon contracts, so much so, he seeks out his clients, rather than the other way around. mephisto does not wait for those tempted by the dark side to make their move, rather, he beckons them closer, luring them into contracts while their souls are weak. he appears with such seduction, such cunning, he is often believed to be the devil himself. mephisto, however, is notmmuch more than his servant. though, certainly, he’d like to be.

mephistoles is then the only envy demon allowed to roam earth as he pleases. very few demons share this privilege, though the nature of his work has him frequently wandering the streets. in truth, there is more to gain for old mephisto than simply the promise of a soul. his clients often beg for things that will also allow him his own benefit of the bargain — fame, money... you name it. he may see fit to leech off of his clients to enjoy such simple mortal pleasures, which may perhaps be somewhat of a weakness of his. make no mistake, though, he is not at all easily swayed. he is a true master of words, and worms his way into the psyches of others as if he’s entering his very own home. by all means, it makes him detestable.
