kaku saama’s assistant, and resident powerhouse. another high-ranking figure in the mogya coven, but instead, is a native to jindao city. he arrived at eposoro some centuries ago, appearing mostly human. he is the descendant of a long lineage of bird shapeshifters and harpies, who lost their plumeage as the avian genetics thinned out. sanyu is actually a swordsman, and a strong one at that. he was not in the mogya coven when he arrived at eposoro city, but rather a run of the mill adventurer, fed up with turning up losses. he and his party enlisted help from the coven then, but had trouble finding mages who could keep up with his high standards. as one would have it, it turns out that if you want something done, you have to do it yourself.

sanyu recognized the vast potential of the magic at the mogya coven, and decided to follow their teachings. he got the ropes of it fairly quickly — the basics of the coven essentially center around communicating with ethereal beings, and he was well-equipped with intellect and a sharp tongue. he was a prized pupil, with one fatal flaw: his massive ego. he would only cast his strengthening magic on himself, something entirely antithetical to the coven’s teachings. kaku himself was fascinated by this man, and thought he could teach him a lesson.

well, it wasn’t as easy as he’d hoped, but sanyu has become a much more manageable person over the years. he is now an inseparable pair with the coven head, and practically the perfect teammate. the two make an absolutely invincible duo, ceaselessly enhancing each others power to a maximum that by all means shouldn’t be possible. he has attained immortality by now, and the overload of magic has made his recessive plumeage return to his body, adorning him in graceful feathers. while he has certainly grown less self-absorbed, his new appearance has made him… far more vain than he once was. oh well, this time around, kaku doesn’t blame him at all. this man is pretty!
