the second figurehead of the hellfire club “covens”. the hellfire clubs are not so much a coven, but rather, a religion, gathering under the teachings of dionysus. or, well, teachings… the coven has its roots in britain and france, where bored catholic noblemen turned to paganism for a laugh. the true hellfire clubs managed to attract the attention of the dionysian deities, and managed to buy their way into receiving blessings. though the hellfire clubs consist mostly of wizards with little interest in communal teachings, rituals are always performed in larger groups. despite the vast individual differences and overall egoism among the members, they all share a thorough love for hedonism.
perhaps the greatest of them all is wiliford, who turned out to be dionysus’ favorite. he was once the son of a well-reputed duke, and threatened to taint his father’s reputation with his ceaseless self indulgence. excessive drinking, illegal parties, vulgar poetry… the man knew no bounds, and got even worse when he joined his first hellfire club. surprisingly, wiliford took the club incredibly seriously. he had always had an interest in the classics, specifically the occult. had he not been bored with catholicism, he may have joined the enochians instead. one wouldn’t expect such a rambunctious man to be a dedicated scholar, but an unexpected bright mind surfaced past his drunken stupor. he managed to gain the favor of the coven head at that moment, and joined one of the “true” covens, posing a promising successor.
and so, after 50 years, wiliford was crowned the new coven head. a freshly ascended immortal, he has shown surprisingly few mutations as the result of his immense arcane power. other than his unnaturally colored skin, glowing eyes, and vines growing from his skin, he is still thoroughly humanoid. his mind, however, is nowhere near that of a normal human… but perhaps it never was.
