the prolific coven head of the illusionists. though the coven sports all sorts of eccentric fellows, none compare to the sheer intrigue and absurd mannerisms of davin. once a kobold, davin was already a master of their craft in their lifetime, but their hubris made them vulnerable to an assassination event. davin had a habit of making enemies, either through petty tricks in their travels, or sparking tremendous envy in their peers. they had adversaries in high places, who could nigh match them in skill, and send him to an untimely grave. and they were nearly successful, had davin not turned themself undead in a peri-mortem panic.
davin has been living as normal since that day. or at least, that’s what people think. in fact, davin’s status as a lich is a deeply guarded secret. they spawn dozens of illusory copies of themself every day, who walk around and take care of their duties while they stay locked safely in their luxurious home. their true body, skeletal and fading away, has become a recluse, while their copies retain their overbearing and cheerful personality. make no mistake, they’ve not stopped pissing people off for even a second — they just have a back-up plan this time.
their residence is as mysterious and poetic as themself. the coven may, or may not, have an actual headquarters. should one outside the coven run into it, the entire building disappears without a trace, as if it was never there in the first place. davin resides here, hidden away from their students all the same in a secret room. they don’t quite mind it, actually. they get to socialize, take care of business, and lavishly lounge in their antique salon all at the same time! and none is any the wiser… just the way they like it.
