Natsuo Chinen

oukira’s dad. the well-groomed and eccentric detective that’s made himself well-known on the streets of rotterdam. though he’s been on the prowl for the infamous merfolk smuggling mob boss for years now, he finds himself in near constant fisticuffs with not only back-alley hoodlums involved with his schemes, but also the police. his entire career he’s wrestled with corrupt government agencies stunting his work, but he’s not about to give up just yet. 

despite the sketchy, depressing circles he finds himself in, natsuo carries himself with a flair of flamboyancy. he’s learned it makes people underestimate him — something he’s using entirely in his favor. he’s got guts, that hopefully stay inside his body for the time being. no trouble is too deep for him, it’s far too late to back down anyway. he’s slugged giuliano in the jaw at least once, and he won’t rest until he’s wrestled that crustacean bastard right into the slammer. though he has a serious dedication to his work, he’s always been on the more cheerful side. gruffness simply doesn’t suit him, that’s what his broody partner is for.
