Profile

“I know you’re about to do something regrettable. Don’t.”

You could say Victoria has nerves of steel, but then she would remind you that she’s much tougher than that. Almost nothing can disturb her when she’s focused on something, though if someone does manage to snap her out of her focused state, she will snap back. She wears her heart deep under her skin, appearing either calm, annoyed, or confused, but overt displays of emotion are rare for her. She is flexible both physically and mentally, but if someone calls her “soft” because of that, she will hit them on the head with a wrench. Despite her flexibility, she will only take suggestions from the short list of Elementals she trusts. She is in general quite abrasive toward Elementals, even her friends, but her attitude toward humans is even harsher. She has little tolerance for humans annoying her, and her fuse is shorter with men than women for whatever reason. She can fix pretty much anything and is knowledgeable with a wide variety of tools. She is especially good at fixing cars, and is very knowledgeable on the history of automobiles. She also makes pottery. She has a tank of sea squirts and algae, though she has the bad habit of venting her frustration on the tank, which often results in the creatures inside getting poisoned. She loves the ocean in general, and will casually hop over to the beach when feeling down. She can also fight you with a wrench, so try not to annoy her. Victoria is friends with many metals, genuinely helping them to be better, or at least more like her. She helps Ferris control her emotions, often to the point of telling her to just suck it up. She is friends with Allie and Titania, and accompanies them on flights sometimes. She appears to be interested in getting to know Cheryl better, though whether those feelings are more than platonic is unclear due to Victoria’s stoicism. She is surprisingly close to Gabrielle of all Elementals, and the two discuss cutting edge technology you wouldn’t suspect either was interested in. She tries to join Lucy’s “battery club”, and Lucy seems at least open to her membership. She has a slight crush on Octavia like most metals, and finds Octavia helps her stay collected, but she also brings out Victoria’s bad tendencies.

Physical Appearance

Taller than average at 173 cm (5’8”). Average weight, slightly muscular. Some curves, triangle figure. Squarish face with slightly pointed chin. Light medium brown skin tone. Yellowish green hooded eyes with short eyelashes. Medium sized aquiline nose. Four lines of two dots arranged in a “V”  between her eyes and mouth, on the sides of her nose; yellow, blue, green, and purple from left to right (the viewer’s left and right). Straight or slightly wavy dark brown hair with a reddish tint and several streaks of yellow, blue, green, and purple in that order from top to bottom; usually tied up into a thick braid. Usually wears a pastel yellow, blue, green, and purple tie-dye long-sleeve shirt with a metallic gray “V” on the right sleeve and a metallic gray “23” on the left sleeve, a metallic gray jacket that extends to her hips with a metallic gray “V” on the right sleeve and a metallic gray “23” on the left sleeve, grayish blue loose pants with an off-white diagonal line on each leg, light pink socks, and dark pink shoes with magenta soles and laces.

Design Notes

Like so many transition metals in the fourth period, Victoria’s shapes are a mix of squares/straight edges for her hard-working attitude and triangles/sharp angles for her abrasiveness. The sharp corners form many of the V's that are scattered throughout her design: her valence marks, her shirt's V-neck, and her pants. Vanadium’s symbol is of course “V”, and one of its common oxidation states is +5 or V. The colors of her valence marks, hair streaks, and tie-dye shirt are the colors of vanadium's oxidation states: yellow (V), blue (IV), green (III), and purple (II), with the higher oxidation states being higher up (or to the viewer’s left in the case of her valence marks). Her yellowish green eyes and lipstick come from vanadium's flame test. Her metallic gray jacket and blue-gray pants both come from the blue-gray color of metallic vanadium. The off-white lines on her pants represent ammonium metavanadate, one of the few vanadium compounds that isn’t brightly colored. Her brown hair and pink shoes both come from the mineral vanadinite, or brown lead (even though it's actually red). I used pink instead of red because I wanted softer, less overpowering colors. Vicky wears loose, baggy clothes to hide her body from the judgements of others.

-Don't forget her valence marks (V on her face) or the "V" and "23" on her jacket.

-She has four-fingered hands.

-She wears yellowish green lipstick.

-The tie-dye pattern of her shirt doesn't have to be exact as long as the colors are right and yellow is on the top, followed by blue, green, and purple.

-Don't whitewash her! She has hooded eyes!
