“But how can I possibly like a superhero if I don’t want to bond with them? Simple: eye beams. Enough said.”

Don’t mistake Kirstie's lack of interest in bonding and romance for a lack of passion. She’s just passionate about other things. Normally calm and preferring to be alone, when someone brings up one of her favorite things, she’ll burst with excitement. In what she  calls her “excited state”, she’ll chat for hours, and her temperament seems to completely flip, from introvert to extravert. She’ll happily hang with her friends to discuss comics, cool technology, or anything else geeky. She finds wonder in the smallest things, even if she doesn’t always outwardly show it. She loves solving mysteries and puzzles, searching for clues to mysteries she doesn’t even know about yet. She figures any pattern she notices could be important. Some people have used her pattern seeking to try to push conspiracy theories on her, which by herself she has trouble dismissing. Her response is to go into her excited state and ask a friend. She can analyze data to find patterns other people miss, and she’s made some discoveries of her own that way. No matter how much she studies science, at the end of the day shee winds down by reading her favorite comics. In her “relaxed state” she binge-watches TV and movies. She loves superheroes, with her favorite hero by far being Superman. She has a rivalry with Thora over comic books, but when not fighting their nerdy battles, the two of them are close friends. They travel to abandoned nuclear sites together. She is close friends with the other noble gases, her neighbors on the periodic table especially. She figuratively bonds with Arly over their love of reading, and with Xena over their love of physics and astronomy. By contrast, she dislikes Fiona for trying to turn every friendly interaction into an excuse to bond. Kirstie never seeks out Fiona to get intimate: she just wants to talk about lasers! She frequents online fandom spaces, yet feels out of place amongst all the shipping and discussions about which character is most attractive. She never swoons over an attractive actor, and she doesn’t want to be considered a lesser fan for it.
