Cautious, Warm, Curious, Selfish, Free-Spirited

Valk is a result of their upbringing, they don't trust freely and find goodwill to be an offering to be wary of. Even so, there is a natural warmth that blooms in them from living in warmer waters. This warmth radiates outwards and shows in free-spirited joy as they fly through the water as if unchained from the bounds of reality. They are the sort to put themself first, but curious enough to let others in. Once someone has broken past their caution there is a surprising amount of care they will show toward another mhoat, a desire to make them happy, and to be a little better for another's benefit.

• Was born into a nest nestled in the coastal rocks of a frigid old turtonic island that moved into permanently icy waters to freeze the growth of mushrooms that were entirely overtaking it. Due to the extreme temperatures, most of the aquatic eggs were unable to hatch which left Valk as the only mhoat in their childhood nest. Their early life was a miserably cold time with little food and comfort to be found, they learned to be self-sufficient early due to a lack of aid from the few mhoats present on the islands and even fewer living in the waters.
• Once they came of age and fully developed their shell they decided to strike out, no knowledge of the world or familiarity with other mhoats left them uncertain if they would discover anything worth enjoying out in the world, but as they traveled into warmer waters they began to awaken from the fog the cold had held them in for much of their formative years. Suddenly, they could cut through the water like the birds who flew through the sky as their limbs were no longer stiff and sluggish from the cold, and with this change and new surrounding comfort came some joy.
• When first encountering other mhoats they were aloof and mistrusting as they weren't familiar with communicating and even less with freely shared kindness. It wasn't until they met Rainbow that their view started to change, which led to much affection and a strong desire to better themselves to please their fellow aquatic. Over time, Valk came to settle down in a warm home built among the corals of a turtonic, acquired some pets, and admitted their affection for Rainbow. Much of their happiness is tied to this once stranger who took the time to pull them from their shell.
