Imagine a stick of dynamite that, rather than by lighting the fuse, is set off by simply existing; you've just imagined Murasaki Natsume. With a temper even shorter than she is, Saki's a furious mass of rage and hatred towards everyone and everything around her. Previously she had been known to lighten up around friends, even socialise now and again, but following a misunderstanding with Dana and Mustang, she no longer trusts people enough to call anyone a 'friend' in the first place. Always itching for an argument or fight, the slightest thing will set Saki off into a barrage of screaming insults and throwing punches, she really is a permanent temper tantrum given human form. Her antagonistic attitude does leave her feeling lonely sometimes, but it's entirely self-inflicted since most at Peculiar Ops are still happy to include her, she just rejects their camaraderie aggressively.

Pyrokinesis - Saki's peculiarity allows her to emit large amounts of blazing fire from her arms. Notably, the fire she creates is purple in colour.

• Originally the misunderstanding between her and Mustang/Dana was that she wrongly believed them to have taken advantage of her sexually while she was drunk, but then I realised that it was really messed up to play that for laughs so it's not that anymore, yikes.

Background

Having grown up in a rough neighbourhood, brawling is second nature to Saki, even following the manifestation of her significantly dangerous peculiar ability. Her fighting instincts saw her become a prodigal kickboxer at the local gym and joining Peculiar Ops as a way to utilise her physical combat skills to make a living, having been tempted by the idea that she could legally incorporate her fire into a few fights working under them. Saki was previously a member of a strong trio within the organisation alongside Dana and Mustang, who she considered her best friends at the time.

However, following a dramatic (from her perspective alone) misunderstanding between them, she severed their friendship and began operating as a solo agent, growing distrusting of everyone around her as a result. The two still don't quite understand what the problem was all about, merely thinking her freak-out and severing of their friendship was just another typical temper tantrum for her and that she'll eventually get over it.

Synopsis

As a self-imposed solo agent, Saki finds herself falling behind her despised rivals as they continue operating together and with others. Eventually she decides that the only way to show them up is to form a team of her own, a notion that Peculiar Ops' Chief finds amusing and allows, dragging together a number of reluctant agents that she thinks would be objectively useful in accomplishing this. However, her attitude means that she is not able to co-operate well with her own team and they are largely ineffective at getting anything done.
