PROFILE
The world of Fallen Impar is most certainly a different world compared to Pokémon World. As it stands, the world of Impar is one that is not only filled with Pokémon and humans. Oh no. Demons, angels and all kinds of oddities exist within this universe. However, to avoid disturbing the order of the world, these beings keep themselves in realms that rest opposite of Impar, only visiting the realm if they wish to explore the unknown. However, one has to wonder how Impar itself was created. We do know Arceus and Mew were involved in the process, but few are aware of what created this world. There are theories, but most are proven wrong. The answer itself is quite simple.
The plates are how the world was created.
These elemental spirits gave the ingredients needed for a world to be born. Their mere presence inspired the world to adapt to what was needed. They gave Pokemon their type and the legends that once held them the powers they would be known for. However, for decades, many regarded these spirits as nothing more than tools for Rose. They thought that they lacked sentience and the ability to feel human emotions. These mortals were wrong in their assumption. Oh, so wrong.
Here we have Hotaru. Hotaru is the Insect Plate and has the title of the Bug Spirit. Hotaru is considered the second in charge of the petals due to being the most parental. He is usually responsible for ensuring nothing bad happens to the plates and often checks on them whenever he can. Most of the Petals tend to go to him whenever they have something on their mind and need someone to talk to. Hotaru isn't the type to really judge others and value helping out those in need regardless on side they just so happen to be on at the moment. She can be quite the worrywart at times when it comes to those she love.
PERSONALITY
Hotaru is regarded as being the parent of the Petals. You would often see Rose's immature side whenever the male is around him as she served as one of his (admittedly many) mother figures. He is very level-headed and cheerful with a sassy side to her. Despite her calm and kind nature, she does have a temper from and lashed out violently at others if they do something to earn her ire. She is fearless, not even batting an eye at the thought of getting hurt or killed. She is prone to worrying about the Petals and Rose, showing strong maternal instincts. Hotaru deeply loves them and isn't afraid of sacrificing herself if it means protecting them. She is the first plate to become close to Rose and earn the male's trust as Rose was wary about the plates when he first met them.
There are times that Hotaru can be headstrong, impulsive, eccentric, and stubborn. Usually, you will see that side of whenever she finds something that really bothers her. Hotaru can be talkative and tomboyish. A fact that doesn't bother her and she honestly embrace. Hotaru is a perfectionist that has a strong sense of responsibility and unyielding reality. If you fuck up something in her plan, she will lash out at you and give you the worst nagging you ever experience.

Appearance
Hotaru stands at the height of 5'6 ft (167.64 cm) tall. Weighing 127.6 lbs (57.4 kg), Hotaru has a slim built with very few muscles. With light skin, the male has a large pair of gray, spiky pincers-like horns on top of his head. He is shown to be short, light green hair that comes a centimeter inch or so above his shoulders. His eyes are dark green.
His outfit consists of the following: a green, white and pink jacket with white belts attached to the arms, a white shirt (with a large opening around the chest area) tucked into her pants being held up by a green belt with a skull dangling from it and gray and golden boots. He occasionally wears a green face mask shaped like a beak of a bird and has pink clawed gauntlets on his hands.
Design NOTES
- The mask is something that Hotaru received as a gift from Yul. Hotaru is thankful for the gift and wears it when he isn't in the mood of putting on make-up.
- Hotaru is capable of taking a more insectoid form seen here. However, you will rarely seen Hotaru in it due to believing it's quite gross to look at.
- Adduing onto this, Hotaru is able to generate parts of insects. In fact, he often does so whenever he's in the middle of fighting since it can be quite useful.
- Hotaru choice of garb came from a suggestion from Lexi, who said she didn't look intimidating enough with her old clothes (a simple hoodie and what not). While Rose argued that she was perefectly fine, Hotaru decided to change anyway.
- Found on her right shoulder is this strange symbol seen here.
- This symbol is meant to symbolize her bond with Neva. This is Neva's personal symbol.
- Hotaru occasionally used the clawed gauntlets during battle. However, her main weapon of choice (fan) is something that she materialize on command. She finds that it's much easier to that than keeping it on her.
- Hotaru is surprisngly one of the few petals that isn't terribly scarred. This is most likely due to being careful when it comes to how he fights and noticing he has quite a disadvantage when it comes to his type.
- Hotaru body does lean more for being androgynous side of things, making it a bit easier to pick up of gender through appearance alone. It doesn't bother her as she isn't really all that picky when it comes to her pronouns.
- Unlike Izzy, Hotaru keeps her assortment of insect within a pocket dimension that Usagi taught him how to make so it eas easier for him to carry them around. This seemed to be a pocket dimension some of the other petals have access to.

Insect Physiology
Hotaru has a unique ability known as Insect Physiology, a ability to transform into an insect. In Hotaru's case, the male is able to transform into various bug Pokemon and use their respective moves and abilities. Of course, she also carries their weaknesses, but she isn't too bothered about that one. Her other forms can be entirely Pokemon itself or a Gjinka version of them. She tends to go into the Pokemon forms whenever she's on stealth-based missions while she goes into the Gijinka forms while in battle. Of all the forms she enjoys, she is a massive fan of her Volcarona form. She can go into non-Pokemon related forms but rarely go into them.
Insect Manipulation
Hotaru also possesses Insect Manipulation, the ability to control various insects to do her bidding. Akin to Izzy's Hive, Hotaru is able to get these insects to helping her during situations, using them against foes, and using them to see locations and gather information about a particular place. She can see through the insects' eyes and communicate with them, hence creating and strengthening friendships. She has a group of insect Pokemon that she has with her. Three of her main ones is her Vikavolt, Heracross, and Shuckle.
Danger Intuition
A useful thing that Hotaru has is Danger Intuition, the ability to sense nearing danger, acute danger, potential immediate danger, or impending danger and sense unwanted or hectic threats to their well-being and evade it. In a way, it is his Spider's Sense. The greater the danger or how close the danger increases the tingling sensation. The tingling gets stronger when the danger becomes more imminent and more threatening, and Hotaru finds out where the danger is coming from and how to avoid it. This allows Hotaru to navigate in situations where he may be unable to see, hear, or if he's disoriented. This intuition is precognitive in nature, and Hotaru always acts before realizing it. This power doesn't go off when he's tired, or it does not believe to be a threat.
Bug Moves
Being the bug plate, Hotaru has access to bug moves. The only moves that Hotaru doesn't have access to are bug z-moves. The female's favorite bug moves are "Quiver Dance". She is fond of this move due to how useful this move can be when she used it in her various forms. Hotaru is one of the few places that seem to have access to everything within their type move pool. The reasoning behind this is the fact they are able to change into various bug type Pokemon.
LIKES
- Children. Oh gosh! She gets all giddy when she's around them! She loves those little tykes~
- Sweets. This plate enjoys munching on candy and other sweets due to their sweet tooth. They will espesically nice to you if you offer her some.
- Insects. I mean what did you expect? They are the insect plate.
DISLIKES
- Fire/Flying Pokemon. Hotaru is not of a fan of those two types of Pokemon due to how "wild" they can be.
- Pesticide. Don't even mention that around her. Just don't.
- Anyone hurting her family. Don't you ever hurt them. She will not hesitate kill anyone who does.
Trivia
- The concept of Hotaru was partially based on Kunisha from Naruto and other loving parental figures from shows I watched.
- Hotaru is the one that keeps a eye on Rose to make sure he actually takes care of himself and is often there to calm him down.
- Mapa is a combination of the words "ma" and "pa".
- If Hotaru had a canon voice, it would sound like this.
