PROFILE

The world of Fallen Impar is most certainly a different world compared to Pokémon World. As it stands, the world of Impar is one that is not only filled with Pokémon and humans. Oh no. Demons, angels and all kinds of oddities exist within this universe. However, to avoid disturbing the order of the world, these beings keep themselves in realms that rest opposite of Impar, only visiting the realm if they wish to explore the unknown. However, one has to wonder how Impar itself was created. We do know Arceus and Mew were involved in the process, but few are aware of what created this world. There are theories, but most are proven wrong. The answer itself is quite simple.

The plates are how the world was created.

These elemental spirits gave the ingredients needed for a world to be born. Their mere presence inspired the world to adapt to what was needed. They gave Pokemon their type and the legends that once held them the powers they would be known for. However, for decades, many regarded these spirits as nothing more than tools for Rose. They thought that they lacked sentience and the ability to feel human emotions. These mortals were wrong in their assumption. Oh, so wrong.

Here we have Griffin. Griffin is the Fist Plate and has the title of the Fighting Spirit. The sorrows of life had led Griffin down the path of drinking to avoid the mental pain that comes with thinking about it. It's not a healthy option. There are better things that Griffin can do to deal with that pain. However, it isn't a bad one, given the nature of Griffin. He used his drunkness to grow stronger and protect those he cherishes. Sure, it does mean some of the decisions he makes can be a bit questionable. However, it's been working out so well so far, so what's the point in changing?

PERSONALITY

There are two sides to Griffin. One is when he's drunk, and the other is when he's not. While drunk, Griffin is a proud and upbeat man. In a way, he's akin to Bruce with how overzealous he can be and how he occasionally goes "YOSH!" whenever he agrees with someone. While drunk, the male is often jolly. There's barely anything that brings down his mood. In his drunk mind, one must have confidence (and a bit of liquid courage) in themselves if they want to achieve anything. One has to cherish beliefs they have in their life to remain true to themselves. The male is rarely frightened by things to the point he's doesn't bat an eye at danger.

When he's not drunk, Griffin acts like a completely different person. Griffin is emotionally withdrawn and noticeably serious when compared to his drunken counterpart. He can be stoic and level-headed, rarely seen to lose his cool, no matter how bleak the situation seems to be. He is noticeably pessimistic and colder whenever he talks about the state of his world or even himself. For this reasoning alone, you will rarely find him sober. Knowing how negative he can be, Griffin knows if he's not too careful that he can hurt others' feelings. Not only that, but he relies on alcohol to give him the happiness that he would normally find himself out of while sober.

Appearance

Griffin stands at the height of 6'2 ft (187.96 cm) tall. Weighing 178.2 lbs (81 kg), Griffin has a stocky built, which is not shocking given his type. His eyes are gray, and his short, purple hair is swept upwards. He has a few scars on his chest and back. He has a fair complexion with red blotches found around his eyes that only appear when he's drunk.

Griffin is often seen wearing black pants with red lines along the sides that are belt up by a matching colored belt. Fixed on his feet are black boots tucked under his pants. On his hands are black fingerless gloves. He carries around a flash on his hip. He rarely wears a shirt as he often complains about it making him too hot.

Design NOTES

  • Attached to his belt are various flasks with different alcohol of his choice. The man never leaves home without at least having a few on hand,
  • The ref doesn't show this, but Griffin has his fair share of bruises and scars from the various battles he's been in. It doesn't honestly bother him all that much.
  • Griffin practically reeks of alcohol. You can honestly smell it when you get at least a good foot or two within his range.
    • When it gets to that level of unbearable to even Rose and his Petals, Griffin is force to take a bath and not have alcohol for a good day. He often hates those days and can be rather grumpy when that time comes.
  • As mentioned before, he's not much of a fan of wearing shirts as he often gets too hot while in them. There's also the fact that he always deals with his shirts ripping apart due to some unknown reason.
    • Of all the tops he does wear, Sephtis' hoodies seem to be the only garb that manages to avoid being ripped apart in some way. One argues it's due to the material made. Griffin cites he takes extra care in ensuring nothing happens to it.
  • Found on the back of his neck is this symbol right here.
    • This mark seems to symbolize his bond with Sephtis. This symbol is Sephtis' personally crafted symbol.
  • It's pretty easy to tell if Griffin is drunk with just a simple glance at his face. He tends to be red in the face when he's drunk, often becoming a slightly redder color when he's drunker.
  • You will rarely see Griffin with long hair as he finds having long hair to be a pain to maintain and how it doesn't go along well with his fighting style.
  • He's fine with having various short hairstyles. Hell, he's willing to deal with a buzzcut since it's rather freeing for him.

Enhanced Condiiton

Being the fighting plate, it's pretty obvious that Griffin has enhanced condition. With this ability, Griffin possesses a physical and mental condition beyond the peak of the human condition. In Griffin's case, his powers are more focused on the physical aspects of the ability with his strength, durability, and other things similar to those being higher than a human. One can argue it can lean more towards the supernatural side of things, but Bruce thinks otherwise. The male is lacking when it comes to his special attacks as he doesn't focus on it.

Alcohol Empowerment

Griffin does have a way to increase his enhanced condition to almost supernatural levels, and all it requires is a bit of liquid courage. Griffin has Alcohol Empowerment, a power that makes Griffin stronger, faster, more durable, and so forth when he drinks alcohol. With this, the male's attacks become unpredictable as the alcohol in his system throws his movements off balance. This power is one that Griffin can't necessarily refine due to its nature. However, that doesn't seem to matter to him as he's fine with becoming a human powerhouse of explosive fury that has no idea of who he's hitting is a friend or foe. The drunker he becomes, the stronger he gets. As such, fighting in a bar is not a recommended choice.

Flowmotion

When combined with his Alcohol Empowerment, Griffin's Flowmotion can make it harder for anyone to hit the plate. Flowmotion is the ability for Griffin to fluidly move around on both land and air. This power allows the male to perform feats such as kicking off almost any surface, air dash, swinging around lampposts, grinding along rails, and battling enemies with speed and style to make use of the environment around him. In a way, this does give the male his agility and Double Team. Griffin is fond of using this skill whenever he's in places such as the cities with various buildings and what not to bounce off on.

Fighting Moves

Griffin has access to fighting moves due to being the fighting plate. The male is unable to use legendary signature moves and fighting z moves. Griffin's favorite move is "Bulk Up" and "Superpower". He doesn't have to worry about his attack and defense lowering. All he needs to do is plop a Bulk Up, and he's good to go. As mentioned before, Griffin doesn't use special attacks as it's not his thing. In a way, it's similar to Agatha not often using physical attacks due to her special attack being significantly high.

LIKES

  • Alcohol. He's happy that he doesn't have to worry about dealing with alcohol poisoning due to what he is.
  • Junk food. "Someone tell me why pizza with ice cream on it take so damn good??"
  • Fighting. I mean...what do you expect out of the fighting plate? Of course, he likes fighting!

DISLIKES

  • Being sober. Nope. Give him his beer/whiskey. He can't stand the thought of dealing with his negative sober thoughts.
  • Red wine. "You keep your trashy drink away from my lips. I don't like it >.>"
  • Hangovers. This is the curse of being an alcoholic. Those things always make their appearance after a long drinking session.

Trivia

  • I based Griffin's power off of the Drunken Fist from Naruto. As you can guess, his personality is based on Rock Lee and Might Guy.
  • Figuring out Griffin's power was surprising easier than figuring out Bruce's powers.
  • If Griffin had a canon voice, he would sound like this.
  • Designing Griffin was tricky as I was trying my hardest to avoid making him too similar to Bruce.
