Lumiere

As one of the Auracorns/non rendlings of the Golden Isles, Lumiere occupipies a unique role in society. They are often revered as someone special and frankly, they aren't quite sure how to feel about that. After all, they just wanna be a normal Auracorn, not something overly romanticised. Lumiere feels a strong need to carve out a name for themself and is doing their best.

On stage, Lumiere is quite the charmer. They have a flashy smile and a smooth way with words that captivates the audience and lets them perform the best slight of hand - with a bit of real magic added for extra showiness. They're fluid and always in motion, laughing, sparkling, and being generally playful. It's a delight to watch them perform.

Off-stage, Lumeire is 100% a people person. They want to get to know everyone and become everyone's friend. They thrive off of social interaction, a true extravert in the flesh. In fact, they feel drained when stuck in social isolation.

Lumiere is also incredibly fussy over their friends. They feel a strong desire to make sure people they are about are doing okay. It's easy to describe them as the mom friend. This can get out of control in a couple ways - Lumiere is known for forgetting to take care of themself when caring for others and their constant fussing becomes annoying. They don't take rejection well, unfortuantely. They like caring for others.

Unfortunately, Lumiere is also known for being reckless. Juliette has had to stop them many times from doing something incredibly stupid, like seeing if setting themself on fire would make the shows more enjoyable. Turns out that just hurts. If it's not part of their show, they don't always think things through most of the time.

Lumere was born to one of the less well known Auracorn families in the Golden Isles as the younger of two children. Although distantly descended from a guardian, their family was no more than the guys next door. And that was fine, for a while.

Then the teenaged Lumiere entered the realm of school. Boy was that a trainwreck. Most people either praised them or avoided them, leaving Lumiere toeing a precarious line down the middle with basically no one else on their side. So, they turned to magic. Stage magic to be precise.

Throughout their late schooling career, Lumiere learned how to attract an audience and become a performer. Eventually, they decided to just drop out of school and pursue a career as a stage magician. They were already good at it after all, and school was really nothing more than a drain on their mental health

Sure it was hard at first. Striking it out on their own was hard, and Lumiere did think of quitting a couple of times. But then they met Juliet, who was in a similar predicament, and the two joined forces.

Soon, the two were a duo act - Juliet keeping Lumiere from being stupid and Lumiere keeping Juliet from being bored. People would flock from all over to come see them perform, and they even got a contract with the Ruby Heart Theater.

During this time, Lumiere actually started to fall in love with the theater owner, Taz. They couldn’t help it - she was so confident, so intelligent, so overwhelmingly attractive in both body and personality. It took her a little while to warm up to the idea, but an incident at 2am and some gambling trouble finally warmed her heart.

However, Taz’s friend Persephone was a bit jealous and tried to stir up some trouble in the relationship. Apparently, she was also in love with Taz and didn’t want to lose her to Lumiere. This actually worked out well in the end - after the three of them sat down to talk, Persephone was gladly made a part of the relationship as well.

Lumiere’s been trying to expand recently, and there seems to be some trouble with ghosts on the horizon…
