Description

It's hard to get a read on Archie. He's a bit of an enigma, keeping to himself far more than actively participating in conversation. He often wanders off, finding cool, quiet places to doze off. Not even the most acute, observant, and insightful of people—three apt descriptors of Archie, funnily enough—could guess what thoughts run through his mind or how he feels. He always remains composed and thoughtful, and his stoic nature gives security to the team. Not to mention, he is one of the team’s most competent fighters.


Known Past

Archie was born in the sea outside of Cherrygrove, having a Gorebyss mother and a Huntail father. He was in a neighborhood—a school, one might say—of other Water type Pokémon. There was nothing of interest, leading to boredom and a lot of naps. He evolved remarkably early due to finding a Deep Sea Scale near his home by chance, and from that day on, he enjoyed the prospect of exploration, so he left his community to explore. One day, he found himself venturing inland.


During the Comic

Three years after Archie left the ocean, he encounters a new trainer named Ethan. Archie is Ethan’s first catch and immediately proves himself to be the most reliable fighter on Ethan’s team, even after the addition of five new team members after him. He is no leader, yet he is still a rock for the team, and as antisocial as he may appear to be (and as generally awkward as he indeed is), he has been an ear for those who want or need to talk.

By depolarizing electrocytes, Archie generates electricity all over his body before charging forward. This essentially overcharges his Water-type body, so he damages himself through this attack.

Archie braces his head and smashes it into his target with the force of a meteor impacting a planet! Supposedly.

As of page 29, Archie appears in but does not speak in five different pages. He also only has one spoken line in another five pages.

Archie’s crescent tail shell is from his mother—you can actually see her and her tail on page 12. His electric powers are from his father, a Huntail, and are more physiological than magic. He isn’t immune to his electric powers, hence the recoil damage from Volt Tackle.

According to Q&A 1, Archie (unsurprisingly) likes swimming and has a shell collection, although considering he did not have it with him when he met Ethan, it's presumably at home.
