Description

Clyde is a young Mudkip who's excitable, enthusiastic, and filled with youthful optimism, perhaps on the border of naivety. He has yet to see much of the world and is very eager to explore it now that he's a part of a trainer's party. He’s very affable! Clyde is always looking for people to talk with and friends to make, but as it turns out, spending his whole life in a cave hasn't exactly helped him learn to pick up on social cues!

Known Past

For all of Clyde's life, he had lived in Azalea Well. Never before had he ever seen the would outside of the cave! He would spend his days playing with his seven siblings. Given his current excitability over exploring the surface and his eagerness to join Ethan's team, it can be inferred that experiencing surface life has been a dream of his.

During the Comic

Clyde was encountered and caught by Ethan in Azalea Well, but was absent during the confrontation with Team Rocket in the well. He was very eager to join Ethan's team when asked! Now a part of a trainer's team, Clyde began to train with the other team members for the upcoming Gym Battle at Azalea Town. He has great cheer talking with his friends but finds constant training exhausting, and Hera doesn't seem to think that he's ready for a Gym Battle.

When under stress, Clyde's body heats up and glows, empowering his Fire type moves... well, it would if he had any.

Spark

The electrocytes in Clyde's external gills activate and coat themselves in electricity. Then, Clyde charges head-first.

Spore

"The user scatters bursts of spores that induce sleep."
Clyde uses grass powers to generate powder that reduces the speed of consciousness to make opponents temporarily drowsy.

Seed Flare

"The user emits a shock wave from its body to attack its target. This may also harshly lower the target's Sp. Def stat."
After absorbing natural energy through his gills, Clyde releases it in a decently powerful wave of Grass-type energy.

Sandstorm

”A five-turn sandstorm is summoned to hurt all combatants except Rock, Ground, and Steel types. It raises the Sp. Def stat of Rock types.”
Clyde whips up a wind that stirs the loose particles on the ground into the air.

Clyde has a diverse selection of powers thanks to his biology, from having organs that use fire powers to the electric organs in his gills.

Clyde is the youngest member of Ethan's party!

Clyde’s orange-yellow colors and paler blue come from his Ability, Blaze! He also has more axolotl features; both of these run in the family!
