Profile
A loyal member of the Church of the Sleeping Gods, Sloan McCarthy has lived her life thus far through sheer force of will alone. She is always determined to live by her own rules and standards, and refuses to let outside forces disrupt that, despite the cruelties that she has been forced to bear. She has recently joined the Holy Order of Gaelen as one of their supernatural investigators, and works closely with the police to curb the growing demon threat. She is a unique and exceptional officer because she has "tamed" a demon and works with it on the field, allowing her to track and kill the other demons she is sent to hunt.

Sloan doesn't speak much of her past, as she is always focused solely on her future. However, what is known about her is that she was born to a single mother who drank. Her mother was a recent divorcee with anger issues, and refused to accept Sloan for who she was and neglected to take care of her beyond the bare minimum. Before Sloan was even old enough to live on her own, she escaped her mother's house and somehow made her way to the nearest church, where she was taken in and given a chance at a better life.
Her obsession with the Church of the Sleeping Gods has given her plenty of drive, but her priorities lie firstly in making sure she can be proud of who she is as a person. As a supernatural investigator, Sloan finds that she is able to save people's lives and purge the evil from the Earthly Domain; this strong sense of purpose is what makes her so determined to do her best in all things.
Her demon partner, by the name of Idris, helps, giving her an edge when it comes to investigating and defeating threats to humanity. They hardly get along, but they work well as a team, and have begun to really make a name for themselves in Gaelen.
