Although Colton has never dealt with him in a violent or threatening manner, Raven still loathes Colton's presence and tries to avoid them as much as possible. Colton's primary concern for Max and secondary concern for Raven are seen as intrusive and meddlesome, and they only serve as a catalyst for guilt. Even worse is the fact that Colton has the resolve to tell Raven his behavior is unacceptable.
Raven is no friend of Colton's. He has proven himself time and time again to be cruel and destructive--attributes that Colton is not willing to embrace. Colton struggles to treat Raven with their customary impartiality, and though Colton is wary and distrusting of Raven they are willing to tolerate his company for Max's sake. If Raven ever becomes comfortable around them, they hope to have a heart-to-heart conversation with him about his behavior.
Max is very fond of Lola, or as she knows her, Rora, and wishes she got to see her more. Max feels far more comfortable around her than she does around her brother sometimes, especially when it comes to personal issues, and whenever they spend time together Max always goes out of her way to make sure that Rora is having a good time. Because if Rora's time is limited, why not make it the best time she can have?
Lola loves Max to the same degree that she loves her own brother, and loves the time they spend together even more. Max may not be as cool or popular as Lola tends to prefer, but because the things they enjoy are similar, Lola willingly considered Max a friend. Max is also quite kind and encouraging towards Lola, which only makes her want to spend more time together. She wishes they could do that more often.
Flavie, with her frequent questionnaires about witches and hexes, is nothing more than a nuisance to Kennedy. Kennedy is underwhelmed with Flavie's antics and seriously doubts any of her claims to a shared bloodlines.
Like a tiny phantom insistent on haunted their victim, Flavie seems incapable of leaving Kennedy alone. Flavie is entranced by the idea of having a witch for a girlfriend and is always pestering Kennedy to divulge stories about her ex. She also seems to be morbidly fascinated with Kennedy's curse.
Ezri remembers Colton for a reason he'd rather not explain to anyone, and likes to pretend that particular memory doesn't exist. However, his more recent interactions with Colton are much better, and in particular he enjoys reminiscing about the one time they rescued Max from Raven and tried to leave the Bird in a dingy motel in the middle of nowhere.
Although Colton doesn't remember Ezri from their younger years, they respect him as much as they'd respect anyone else that endured and survived the same childhood atrocities as they did. Colton only sees Ezri on occasion nowadays, but their interactions are always of the friendly variety.
Des' standard approach to addressing problems is to dance around them with false positivity, but Max isn't compatable with that approach. Max's need for comfort and advice can leave Des feeling strained and results in some frustration on his part, but not enough to deter Des from keeping Max's number and texting him on occasion. Even though Max is dating Des' previous lover, Des doesn't blame Max or hold him accountable for his relationship status.
Max doesn't know Des very well, and often feels like perhaps there's something about himself that's keeping them from becoming close. He's realized that Des doesn't do well with Advice, and doesn't mention any problems anymore, just using the time to chat about idle things, and check up on how Des is doing. He's unaware that Des and Ezri had a thing going on, but if he ever found out he'd feel really bad for wrecking that.
Knowing about Max's personal life and how often he suffers in private, Colton strives to provide Max with sanctuary through their friendship. Colton is more than willing to support Max in any way they can, whether that be through opening their home to Max or simply by giving him much-needed time to talk and be listened to. They often fret over Max's health and safety, and take care to call him when they can't visit.
Max looks up to Colton like another sibling. In his mind Colton is what Max would like to be someday, comfortable in themselves, and working through life's problems at their own pace. He enjoys time spent with Colton, especially when he's needing a break from his home life, even if it's just for a few hours. They've tried painting Colton before but the range of colours makes things....Difficult
Although Fifer and Max's first interaction was wholly accidental, the commonality of concern for Raven has united them in a friendly acquaintanceship. While Fifer does not in any way feel responsible for Max and his safety, she recognizes him as an amateur and would have no problem lending him help should he ask for it. Fifer tends to find Max refreshing and amusing and consideres him a good source of information on Raven. She doesn't know Max's real name and doesn't intend to learn it.
Max first met Fifer when he answered a phone call he was never meant to take, and their common concern for Raven is what has kept them in touch since then. Despite lying about his entire Identity to Fifer, Max feels he can trust her when it comes to any incidents that are less than legal. He goes by the name Milly with her and feels surprisingly comfortable with the false name
Raven's relationship with Max is best defined by a cycle of desire, gratification, and guilt. With control as his motive, Raven will mock, belittle, and ridicule Max all while trying to convince her that the only thing providing her with purpose is himself. Raven does not often profess his disdain for his own cruelty, but the guilt he feels after being particularly brutal towards Max is overwhelming. With each wrongdoing comes resolve to change, but in the end his desire for control outweighs his desire for improvement.
Max's relationship with Raven is best described as devoted. Despite Raven's brutal treatment, her feelings never waver. She loves Raven completely, with every part of her. No matter what happens, even when it'd be so much safer for her to walk out on him and never come back, she could never really leave him. Max's devotion goes as far as her putting up with things she normally wouldn't for his sake, and looking out for his happiness over her own. However, deep down even she has to wonder if Raven truly loves her, or if he's just using her for his own gains. But those thoughts never stay long in her mind, she prefers to focus on whatever good times she can have with him.
The disarray that comes with a sizable family often leaves Kennedy feeling impartial towards her numerous relatives, and admittedly she only feels slightly different about Ezri. Her relationship with him is faint at best, but she keeps his number logged in her phone ever since he helped her escape from dangerous circumstances.
If you asked Ezrial who his favorite Aunt was, he'd likely answer with Kennedy. Why? Because he's the only aunt he actually knows more than just the name of. Having helped her escape from a dangerous environment, and allowing her to crash at his place for a while, he knows her marginally more than most of his relatives.
Any change in Ezri's demeanor, no matter how small, warrants change in Raven’s as well. Always looking to gain leverage, Raven will curb most defiance from Ezri with cruelty, and while Ezri has true potential to be a threat Raven often repurposes his fear of Ezri and expresses it as malice. While their relationship is largely comprised of strife, their similarly lustful natures keep Raven relationally tethered to Ezri. Additionally Raven does, on occasion, find himself enjoying Ezri's company, but he won't likely admit to it.
Ezri started out loathing Raven with every fibre of his being, and while that changes off and on, deep down he still doesn't like him very much. The main driving force of his relationship with Raven is the bizarre chemistry between them. Despite the hate, Ezri is very attracted to Raven physically, and never passes up on an opportunity to have a little "fun" with him. However, since they started sort of dating, Ezri's been enjoying Raven's presence more and more, burying the bird in sugary sweet affection.
Ezri is actually unaware how much he's caused the poor carbuncle to suffer. He of course wasn't unaware of Des' feelings, since they'd been lovers for quite some time. And even though he's moved on to a different relationship, Ezri still feels very strongly for Des, and if things don't work out, he'll end up right back on Des's doorstep.
From mere coworkers to much, much more, Des and Ezri's relationship had since surpassed the stage and made its way into something quite personal. Rivaling eachother in a need for passion and companionship, Ezri became Des' lovers for a short time. Then Ezri dedicated himself to a relationship--one that didn't include Des. Des tries to keep his lamenting private, but in Ezri's presence his bitterness often gets the best of him.
While Colton and Des may be at odds with one another when it comes to worldview, Colton's respect for Des' opinions keeps their acquaintanceship comfortable and unproblematic. Colton enjoys casual discussions about ideologies because they love to hear about and understand different values and methods, but is happy to change topics if they sense any reluctance from Des.
Familiar with one another only through mutual friends, Des rarely sees Colton aside from parties and the odd friendly get-together. Des is fond of Colton's pleasant attitude and down-to-earth demeanor, and feels he can make himself comfortable in Colton's company.
Raven sees Albion as a friend of Fifer's and not much else. When he was younger, he was nervous around Albion, avoiding him as often as possible and hardly speaking to him unless absolutely necessary. Over time and with the help of a major mistake that he and Albion share in common, his fear of Albion has turned to disdain.
Despite the fact that Raven is an adult now, Albion still sees him as a troubled and troublesome kid. He tries his best to act professionally around Raven but always seems just slightly impatient with him. He secretly envies Raven because of the attention he receives from Fifer.
At just the name of Fifer Gray, Raven bristles. He sees her as a regret and a disgrace. If asked, he won't hesitate to disclose just how severe his loathing for her is, though his disclosure may not be entirely truthful. Beneath the layers of a hateful facade, Raven safekeeps the memory of betraying Fifer, tirelessly harboring the guild of his misdeeds in his heart. No matter how he tries to convince himself to hate her, Raven will always consider Fifer a mentor, a role model, and a friend.
As the mentor and partial parent figure of a much younger Raven, Fifer still feels obligated to look out for his well being. Fifer, while not often openly concerned with his whereabouts and safety, often thinks about where Raven is and what he is doing, but never interferes with his life seeing as he is now an adult and can take care of himself.
Faine had been Albion's best friend when they were children, but multiple years of separation has left Albion a little hesitant and awkward. Their relationship is marked by friendly banter, leisure time, and discussing plans, but through all of their interactions Albion is making a staunch effort to remeet the boy he knew so well as a child.
Faine has grown emotionally and socially since his first meeting with Albion, and as such he sees their reconnected relationship as an opportunity to amend some of the errors he made in their first friendship. Although Faine still exhibits slightly distant behaviors from time to time, he sees Albion as a friend, and maybe even more of a friend than he was before they were separated.
Although Faine works under Fifer as a consultant, he is wholly unaffected by her leadership position and shows of power. Instead of being scared by her aggression, he rather finds it tiring; and maybe a bit childish. Faine sees Fifer only as a friend in part, and his loyalty to her cause would most likely be jeopardized if not for the fact that Faine feels obligated to help her.
Fifer sees Faine more as a tool than she sees even Albion and expects constant respect and availability from him. She engages him mostly when necessary and scarcely talks to Faine for anything other than business.
Albion has had an enduring and unrequited crush on Fifer for years now, but most of the time he is content simply being an aid and friend to her. He is intimidated by her much like an underling would be intimidated by their leader.
Fifer sees Albion as a vague nuisance, a useful yes-man, and, if she's being honest with herself, a steadfast friend. They've braved their way through quite a number of escapades since meeting each other, and she values his readiness and tech abilities.
