"I have a son, and that's you, and even if I can be forgetful sometimes I'll always love you."
"I really want to be like you one day. I hope you know that. You're my inspiration."
"I'm glad you came back. I'm glad you're even alive! Just don't scare me like that again. Please."
Weeja first met Scout on her journey up-river to find out what was stopping the water from coming through. They soon became the best of friends, but near the end of her adventure Scout went missing, and she feared the worst. It took a hundred years from her perspective for her best friend to return, and really she's just glad he's back at last.
"I still don't get why you like rain. I mean, who likes rain? A hundred years and you still haven't changed."
Scout the time traveler heard of the trouble with the river, and when he went to investigate, he met the dog named Weeja. She was great - really great - but at the end of their adventure, he put himself in harm's way to provide a distraction, and though it worked and the day was saved, his time travel device malfunctioned a bit and he returned to his friend almost a hundred years late.
"You know, I'm glad you're helping, but I can really do this on my own."
Data is a bit skeptical of this neon blue dude who just appeared out of nowhere and offered spying lessons. He could totally do things without someone else teaching him! ... Except he knows he's very clumsy, and he doesn't do a very good job at all. He won't admit it to the bandanna guy, but Data's glad he met Atticus.
"Look, you're not a spy, you're a dog who happened to get weird powers. But you could be a spy if you let me help out."
Atticus may be the younger of the two dogs, but he's by far the more experienced one. He's been doing spying and secret things for years, and he thinks Data can do it, too, if he puts his mind to it. That's why he's offered to help.
"I still don't know why you wanted to come... but I'm glad you did."
Palmer, the traveler cursed to live forever... or until he is able to do 1000 good deeds. He really didn't expect anyone to want to join him in his search for those in need of help, and at first he didn't want anyone to, either. But times have changed, and this curious dog whose life he saved once is turning into a very good friend of him.
"Only 400 good deeds left, right? Let's do them all!"
Kanti had been used to a normal, ordinary life when Palmer swooped in, saved his life, and vanished the next day. Naturally, Kanti followed, and the adventure began. Before he knew it he was learning actual magic spells and saving lives, and he's been loving every moment of it.
"Come on, let's go steal something exciting!"
Felix has been a pirate for as long as he can remember, and he's brought Theodore along for the ride for... well, not quite that length of time, but still for quite a while. Somewhat oblivious to Theo's hesitation, he gets his friend to come on all of Felix's escapades.
"...Do we really have to?"
Theo wasn't made for this. He'd much rather be a writer than a pirate, but somehow Felix has got him into this mess anyway. He doesn't quite enjoy being the unwilling partner-in-crime, but at least he's getting a lot of good stories for the books he's planning on writing.
"Knowledge gives the best advantage - something you seem to forget, Lumiere."
Merle is really the planner of the two traveling pranksters. He does most of the reading and thinks about back-up plans. Really, without Merle, Lumiere's pranks would be a lot less successful. They're the perfect team.
"Every master prankster needs someone to be the second best!"
Lumiere is absolutely thrilled that he ran into Merle by accident that one time. He loves having a best friend, and he loves doing pranks with someone else. Even though his ego won't let him admit that Merle is probably as good with pranks as Lumiere, he at least agrees that his friend has very good planning skills.
