Hal (or Tempest) is Knick-Knack's friend!! Even before KK becomes a sentinel, she would visit the Titanium Tower and hang out with him. He's always been very friendly to her. KK loves this brick shithouse of a man and would do nearly anything for him, whether it be slamming a pie onto Skywolf's face, or saying dumb jokes until he cracks a smile. He's a good guy and she admires him a lot.
Alistaire first knows Damon just peripherally as Charlie's gaming buddy. They become more properly acquainted when Alistaire starts poking his nose into the Neo Dominus investigation, which Damon is helping with. He takes to the guy right away -- Damon's disregard for authority, ambivalent moral alignment, and proclivity for mischief make him a kindred spirit. He pranks good.
Alistaire's not privy to his true nature -- at least not yet.
Damon originally knows Alistaire through Charlie, since they're basically attached at the hip. He thinks Alistaire's a riot, loves the schemes, the unhinged energy, the anarchy of it all. They get along great, and Damon'd be willing to help with just about anything Alistaire needed if he asked.
Hal's a delight to throw down with. The banter's not the wittiest with him, but the understanding not to really hurt each other is mutual, which is good because Hal is SCARY competent. Alistaire would never mess with him if he weren't such a gosh darn sweetie pie. But he is, so he makes an amicable enemy great for a cartoonish romp to let off some steam, even if Alistaire loses every singe time. Alistaire's not afraid to admit he genuinely likes the guy (out of costume, anyway).
Hal thinks Alistaire is delightful! Despite being a self-proclaimed villain, he doesn't think Alistaire really does much harm. Everyone needs a little trickster to keep them on their toes, he guesses! He really admires how much Alistaire is unapologetically and genuinely himself, maybe even quietly envies it to some degree...Either way! He's a funny little guy and Hal likes having him around.
Omgggg, it's Haleeeey! As much as Alistaire likes them, some of his other friends just... well, let's be honest, they're not good at conversation. So, it's refreshing to shoot the breeze with Haley on a regular basis. Alistaire doesn't even actually like boba that much -- he just shows up to hang out and be a distraction. He's been able to deviously sneak out of paying his tab over and over because he's very good at being evil and clever and pulling the wool over Haley's unsuspecting eyes.
In costume? Trailblazer can't stand this little shit. He's reckless, feckless, and obnoxious. She doesn't have the patience for his scheming, she has better things to do.
Haley herself? Loves the guy. Fully aware he's a supervillain, AlistaIre's not quiet about it, but she knows he's harmless. She's glad that her costume includes a full-face helmet because it sometimes gets hard to keep up the Trailblazer façade of frustration and not just crack up at his nonsense.
He's one of her favorite customers at the cafe and the two of them can trade gossip for hours. She doesn't even mind the excessive unpaid tab he's racked up on account of he already gets free drinks for life. Hasn't told him that, though.
Little shit. God help anyone who tries to genuinely hurt him, though. He's a regular at the diner and close with Poppy, so Mason ends up seeing a lot of him. They're not super close, but Mason would vouch or cover for him if ever needed.
Alistaire thinks Mav is a BLAST!! Someone who can match his weirdness (or even... maybe... MAYBE... ALMOST even outdo it... a LITTLE...) is rare, and rarer still to not feel like they're fighting over the spotlight: for all Mav's energy, as well as being in the LITERAL spotlight a lot of the time, they've got a laid back sort of flavor that keeps the vibe positive. If he's all out of ideas for weird shit to do, they've got one. Plus, while Alistaire isn't a metalhead, getting into those theatrical shows for free is always a good time, and Rosehead's audience is a very queer scene where he can flirt with tough guys too. That's just a nice little bonus.
Mav thinks Alistaire is fun as hell! They love his style, the drama of it all, his whole vibe. When he walks into the room with his loud and overdramatic chaos, it's both easy and fun for Maverick to match his energy. Mav also just doesn't have a lot of friends outside the band, so it's just nice.
Poppy likes Mason! It certainly helps to have another server around. She loves how they smells a bit smoky at all times - not like cigarette smoke, but more like a campfire? Regardless, she thinks they're a good person and that they're misunderstood by others. She'd fight for them if it came to it.
Mason admires her take-no-shit attitude, and her compassion for others. They trust her, and her presence always improves their day. Mason would say they'd kill for her, but knows they'd be more likely to have to hold her back than anything.
Ms Rivera thinks Mason is a big sweetheart. In her eyes, they can do no wrong. Ms Rivera hired Mason a while after Poppy and Zora for the extra help, and it worked out! She may not know Mason as well as the other two, but she's always willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. She tries to be motherly towards Mason - it seems to make them feel better, though she thinks they'd never admit it out loud.
Ms. Rivera gave Mason a chance with this job despite their past, and they'll always be appreciative of that. She's a brilliant woman, and they have nothing but respect for her. She's grown to something akin to a mother figure, though it might ache a bit for them to admit as much.
Zora and Mason don't talk much, but they've formed a bond regardless. Sort of like how Poppy and Zora can have whole conversations with eye contact, Zora and Mason have grown something similar, though it's usually about unruly or annoying customers. Zora thinks Mason is a good person and will vouch for them given the chance.
They've formed a quiet bond while working together. Mason likes Zora and the fact that they're usually on the same page without having to say much. Makes things simple.
Mav pretty much found Sal sulking and plucked him right off the street. Sal can confidently say he'd both kill and die for them. He doesn't seem to notice any of Mavs' oddness, mostly because he's pretty strange himself, and next to unbothered by the thousands of spiders.
ride or die, mav cares about sal in the same way he cares about all the band members: that's their fucking family. sal's got some eccentricities but who in this scene doesn't?!?! better to be weird than boring. they look past the things that might bother others, and they both look out for each other. what more can you need
Path met with Liam when the two were young teenagers. The two bonded for a short while, and years later they managed to reunite through Levi. Path is willing and eager to help Liam with whatever he needs, often hanging around Liam, looming like a shadow behind him. Path loves when Liam brushes and braids his hair.
Path was one of the first people Liam ever met that didn't intend to observe him like a bug under a microscope, as well as being the first peer he'd ever met, age-wise. He's immensely happy that their paths ended up crossing again after that, and cherishes their bond deeply. He always enjoys Path's company, even when he may come off a bit intimidating to others. Though Liam's always been most at home in the chaos of the city, sometimes he comes out to spend time with Path in the quiet of his forest. It makes him feel safe.
Liam was wary of Maisie at first, even with Path vouching for her. His track record with government agents wasn't exactly the best. But over time she grew on him, and as she helped him with bringing justice to his captor and mother, Constantine, he came to trust her and consider her a friend. He thinks she's strong and fiercely determined, but still considerate in all the ways that matter. He hopes to have her as a friend for a long time...
Maisie met Liam after the Battle of the Beacon in the hospital. Through their mutual hatred towards Neo Dominus, they grew a friendship, working together to try and nail Liam's old captor, Constantine. Maisie thinks Liam is creative, kind, and has a lot of potential. Hopefully nothing & nobody will be able to come between these two and their alliance! Hopefully...
charlie meets damon online several years before the present day. they play co-op games together a lot and are just your average online friends. for the first several years charlie has no idea damon lives in silver city or that he's an ai, whereas damon pretty much immediately knows about charlie's identity just given his nature. when charlie finds out about this he's uncomfortable, but damon turns out to be a pretty good ally when he needs it most, even if he needs a reminder about privacy sometimes...
Charlie is one of the first people Damon actually starts talking to instead of just observing, and probably his first friend. He knows way too much info about Charlie from the get-go, but tries to respect his boundaries nowadays. Mostly. He's slow to let Charlie in on his whole deal despite what he knows about him in return, but he does trust the guy, and cares about him. Good luck getting him to admit to anything that genuine, though.
charlie knows hal as temptest first and finds him okay. he believes hal is a genuinely nice person and appreciates that he's willing to give the gunslinger a chance in spite of his past. he sees hal as a good ally but doesn't seek out friendship with him for a long time, not seeing any reason to keep their relationship anything other than strictly professional. he finds out hal's identity by accident early on when hal comes by the dog shelter charlie works at to donate blankets and charlie makes the connection by voice, but doesn't tell him that he knows for another few years at least.
hal knows charlie as the gunslinger for awhile, and even probably got into it a few times in his villain days (no hard feelings!). he's excited about gunslinger trying out the whole hero thing and tries to be as encouraging and friendly as possible. he just wants him to feel welcome! hal has no clue about charlie's secret identity or the fact that charlie knows his, thought never once crossed his mind
charlie knows mav from going to various concerts in silver city. as a pretty non-judgemental guy, charlie isn't bothered by mav's weirdness, though he's not a huge fan of the spiders themselves. mav doesn't know charlie's identity or that he has anything to do with the vigilante scene in the city.
mav's seen charlie around at shows and such. he's cool far as they're concerned. not really sure what his deal is, since he seems mostly normal if a bit gruff? but there's probably something somewhere if they're hanging out together. not that they'd say that. but it's true.
