Event: Player-made content focus

Through mysterious means, you find yourself in a strange and wonderful building: it seems to be a great library. Shelves upon shelves of tomes, books and scrolls fill the vaulted halls. Sunlight filters in from tall windows, and the air glitters with dust, making it hard to see what lies beyond the walls of the building, further giving it a dreamlike, hazy atmosphere.

But not all the shelves are filled. Some are empty, seemingly waiting.

“Greetings, weary traveler. Though the journey is long, I appreciate your visit—I hunger for news of the outside world! So please, tell me what you know; let me hear about the rich tapestry of life in Ivras, its inhabitants and its scenes, landscapes, and locations. I will pay handsomely for any information you may have!”

“My name? Oh, don’t worry about that.”

Later, when you have somehow returned home, you begin to wonder if the place even existed at all…

📚 the library of lore

Welcome to Anathema’s latest world page: the Library of Lore! Anathema doesn’t have much official lore—we leave that up to you, the players, and on this page we will showcase and collect player-made factions, locations, and miscellaneous worldbuilding, for easy access.

With that said, in this event we will focus on what you, the players, create! Hopefully the shelves in the Library of Lore will fill up a little more 💖

💰 rewards

All writing, art, or RP that focuses on a player-made faction or location—old or new, your own or someone else’s—will earn double gold.

Bonus prompt: interact with two or more factions and/or locations in the same piece to earn an additional +10 gold! You can do this with as many pieces as you like.
Collab bonus: Collaborative pieces (roleplays included) will also earn an additional +10 gold!
- (These bonuses stack!)

Any player who submits a new faction or location during this time will earn their choice of a scroll or amulet (or battle item) from the shop, as well as double gold!

Post your finished faction or location in the appropriate forum, reply to this comment below with a link, and then claim your reward in the item shop.

🌏 additional map resources!

Anathema’s map is getting some love! We have added a slightly more detailed map as a complement to the original one—feel free to use whichever one that suits your needs.

The new map will also be used to mark player-made content. To get your location or faction added, simply send us a modmail and tell us where it should be, and we’ll get it added asap. The only requirement is that there should be some information about it posted in the Locations, Factions, or Worldbuilding forums, so other players are able to read about it.

Earn double gold rewards by exploring your character’s motivations with these two story prompts. Mages will also gain a stat point for each story prompt they complete, based on their choices! Any character can respond to one or all of these prompts.

Story Prompts

For this event, there are two Story Prompts available! You may do as many of the prompts as you like with any of your characters! Each character can only complete each prompt once.

At the end of the event, Mages will receive a stat point bonus for every Story Prompt they complete.

You may complete all prompts with the same character.
You may submit collabs and RP as prompt responses, but every participating character's choice must be clearly indicated for mods.
Prompt responses earn double gold!

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).

Locations

The lands of Ivras and beyond are varied and diverse, with endless sights to see and wonder at.

What kind of places is your character drawn to?

Distant lands: foreign places, different from home. Your character has earned +1 Power.
The familiar: a well-trodden path, homely and comfortable. Your character has earned -1 Cost. If your character already has 0 Cost, you may choose to take +1 Corruption instead.
The lucrative: where there is profit to be gained. Your character has earned +1 Corruption.
The unknown: the mysterious and uncharted. Your character has earned +1 Discipline.

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).

Factions

There are many groups and factions around, containing a multitude of people, all with various motivations and goals.

What would make your character join, or form, a group or cause?

To make friends and companions. Your character has earned -1 Cost. If your character already has 0 Cost, you may choose to take +1 Corruption instead.
To learn, and gain knowledge or new perspectives. Your character has earned +1 Discipline.
To command, and wield power over others. Your character has earned +1 Corruption.
To help those in need. Your character has earned +1 Power.
