December 2022 Roundup

Winter in Ivras continues, the weather seemingly turning a little colder and clearer than the muddy, rainy autumn and beginning of winter. The harvest was not quite as bad as some feared, at least not everywhere, but it could still prove to be an uncomfortable winter.

Happy new year! We have some exciting things coming up! A new event, some changes to staff, and a new story prompt.

šŸŽ changes to the staff team

As 2022 comes to a close, we say goodbye to @Frankensteins as administrator, and hi to me, Apel, as the new sole admin of Anathema!

I canā€™t thank Frank enough for these last two years, and for trusting me with this gem of a game! I hope I will do Anathema justice and continue running this for years to come ā™„ļø

We might still see Frank around as an admin emeritus, say hi if he pokes his head in!

january 2023 Story Prompt:

Last year, one year after the corruption of Archmage Hagia, the Feast of Flowering celebrations were subdued, and in some cases, canceled entirely.Ā

The year that followed has been considered bad by many. Now there are whispers among the superstitiousā€”perhaps the bad year was a consequence of unhappy Patrons, snubbed of their yearly springtime offering?

Others scoff at this, citing more worldly reasons for the rough times. Whatā€™s certain is that this yearā€™s celebration will likely be more well-attended than the lastā€¦

What does your character think?

  1. The patrons are nothing but old superstitions. Who cares? Your character has earned -1 Cost. If your character already has 0 Cost, you may choose to take +1 Corruption instead.
  2. The patrons ensure prosperity, if you honor them. Your character has earned +1 Power.
  3. Your character isnā€™t sure what to believeā€”but they may visit a shrine just in caseā€¦ Your character has earned +1 Discipline.
  4. The belief in patrons is a distraction for the gullible. Your character has earned +1 Corruption.

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).Ā
Upload your response like any other art or literature submission, tagĀ this character profile, and claim your gold; collect doubleĀ your total count for prompt responses. Responses to this prompt should be done individually, one character per response.
