May 2023 Roundup

The seasons turn, and spring blossoms into summer. The stormy season in the South is over, and most trade routes have been re-established; warehouses and storage rooms are slowly filling up again.

Mild spring rains and favorable weather likely means that the summer crops will be plentiful and of high quality.

After a busy few months, today’s roundup is a fairly mellow one! We have two new characters and a few updates, and of course a new story prompt for you to enjoy. This month’s prompt references The Endless Spire, an event that took place at this time last year.

📯 great hunt: the silver scourge

⚔ new hunt system

The new hunt system (both stats and gold-based) was a success and we will be implementing it as we go forward! If you have any feedback or suggestions, don’t hesitate to hit us up on modmail or in #ask-staff!

The event is over, and Ivras is once again free of rats (for the most part!). Rewards have been posted, click here to see them and the event badge.

A small note: Technically you were supposed to do all three prompts to be eligible for the rewards, but we realize that might not have been very clear in the instructions! So: as long as you did at least the first two rounds of prompts (1 or 2, and 1a/1b, 2a/2b), your character will get the reward.

June - july 2023 Story Prompt:

It has been one year since The Endless Spire was discovered in the depths of the Sunless Jungle, rising towards the heavens where the Ravenous Beast fell.

Born from the fountain of magic gushing from the monster's corpse, the great building appeared overnight, spiraling skyward, its top piercing the clouds.

Even a year later, the Spire beckons to those who seek adventure, treasures, or power. The Order still tries to bar people from entering the area, but where there is a will, there is a way…

What does your character think about it?

They have already been to, or plan to visit, the Spire. Your character has gained +1 Power.
No matter the cost, if they can use the Spire to further their own power, they will. Your character has gained +1 Corruption.
They have other things to worry about than some magical tower in the jungle. Your character has gained -1 Cost. If they are at 0 Cost already, you may give them +1 Corruption instead, if you prefer.
Regardless of one’s political affiliation, we should keep studying it. Your character has gained +1 Discipline.

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).
Upload your response like any other art or literature submission, tag this character profile, and claim your gold; collect double your total count for prompt responses. You may submit collabs and RP as prompt responses, but every participating character's choice must be clearly indicated for mods.
